• VOTE NO ON FAST TRACK FOR TPP
I expect transparency regarding something as far reaching as this trade agreement. For this reason, I believe that it should have a full hearing in Congress. Fast Tracking it will not allow this to happen and will effectively let it pass without the public, or even the Congress, to have access to the full text of the trade agreement.

  • Josh Duggar should be registered on the National Sex Offender Registry
When someone with a history of targeting underage girls freely admits to the assaults, they should be forced to register just as anyone convicted of a sexual crime would. People have a right to know that this predator is in their midst, and take actions to shield their children from him.

  • Moratorium on tasing unarmed suspects!
This petition is about saving lives and allowing suspects their right to the judicial system process where they are innocent until proven guilty. Death on the street via taser plays judge and jury violating the persons constitutional right to due process. These protocols create a team approach between community and law enforcement focused on building trust and maintains safety for everyone! Let's change how law enforcement engages unarmed suspects so everyone lives through it!

  • When the People petition Government, Government should honor it!
This petition is being started to remind the Congress of the United States of America that when we petition it, the Executive Branch or the Judicial Branch of Government, that our petition is honored as the First Amendment to our U.S. Constitution so dictates. Too many times our petitions go unanswered, or sometimes altogether ignored by Government - at Every Level. And when Government FAILS, willfully or otherwise, we should call them on it - And remind them why they serve at our elected pleasure. Thank you for your support and interests. Please kindly share this petition with all in your circles... "..prohibiting the petitioning for a governmental redress of grievances." - 1st Amendment to the U.S. Constitution, partial quotation

Leila Najjar is six months pregnant. She and her husband Mohammed Sulaiman want to be together for their first child’s birth. Leila lives in Gaza and her husband is studying for a PhD in Adelaide, Australia. But Israeli authorities won’t let Leila pass through the Israeli-controlled Erez crossing, and Egyptian authorities won't let Leila pass through the Egyptian-controlled Rafah crossing, to join Mohammed in Australia. Only weeks remain before airlines won't allow her to fly due to advanced pregnancy. [1] Urge US authorities to intervene to allow Leila to travel to Australia to be with her husband for her child's birth by signing our petition. • CFPB: Disbar Collection Attorneys that violate FDCPA and time barred debt.
When the law breaks the law: Third party debt collectors via collection attorneys are scamming the system and lining their own pockets, at the cost of hard-working American families. These collection attorneys know the law much better than any consumer. Many American families are in debt, whether it be medical debt or credit card debt, due to job loss, illness or other hardship. Furthermore, original creditors have already received a tax incentive, or some other incentive when they charged off the debt, then subsequently received payment when they sold the debt for pennies on the dollar. It should be ILLEGAL for third party debt collectors to collect the whole amount of the debt, seeing that the true amount of their loss is actually what they paid for the debt, which is pennies.

  • Resignation is not enough: Charge Officer Casebolt!
Officer Casebolt violently arrested, verbally assaulted and physically attacked a number of the teens at a pool party, including Dajerria Becton who was body slammed, pinned to the ground and put in handcuffs while unarmed and wearing a bikini. Casebolt then drew his gun at teens who came to Dajerria’s rescue. Officer Casebolt's actions were inexcusable and reflect a deeply discriminatory and abusive culture of policing within McKinney, Texas law enforcement. The Black teens at the party were singled out for abuse and none of the white bystanders experienced any police aggression. This is blatantly racist—no one deserves to be treated this way by police. Any police officer who treats another human being, let alone children, in such an abusive, life-threatening manner must be held accountable. In addition to Officer Casebolt, all of the officers present at Craig Ranch pool, who stood by and allowed this police violence to take place, must be held accountable. I also urge you to drop the unjust charges against the 14-year-old boy arrested for "evading arrest and interfering with police."

  • McKinney Mayor Loughmiller: Fire Officer Eric Casebolt!
"He grabbed me, twisted my arm on my back and shoved me in the grass and started pulling the back of my braids," — 15-year-old Dajerria Becton This past Friday, McKinney law enforcement responded to a call from white residents that a group of Black teens, 13 — 16 years old, attending a pool party “did not have permission to be there.” One of the residents is reported in having told the kids to go back to “Section 8 housing.” Officer Eric Casebolt violently arrested, verbally assaulted and physically attacked a number of the teens, including Dajerria Becton who was body slammed, pinned down and put in handcuffs while unarmed and wearing a bikini. Ofc. Casebolt then drew his gun at teens who came to Dajerria’s rescue. McKinney law enforcement and Officer Casebolt's violence against these teens highlight the systemic abuse, injustice, and criminalization that Black girls and women face at the hands of law enforcement every day. Police treated all of the Black teens unjustly, but the gender and racial stereotypes underlying their behavior are highlighted when Officer Casebolt spoke to the group of Black girls. "Stop running your mouth" and "get your a***** out of here," he shouted to the group of teenage girls in bathing suits before violently grabbing Dajerria by the hair, slamming her head into the pavement, and digging his knee into her back while she laid face down in the grass. In addition to Officer Casebolt, the other 11 police officers who stood by and allowed this violence to continue must be held accountable and Attorney General Lynch should launch a full investigation into the discriminatory policing practices of the McKinney Police Department. Join us in urging local officials to fire Officer Casebolt and charge him with assault and battery for his brutal and discriminatory actions.
