• Governor Tom Wolf: The public deserves a voice on fracking
For years, citizens affected by fracking, and environmental and public health groups have been pleading to state environmental officials to have a seat at the table when it comes to regulating this harmful activity. And when Governor Wolf gave Pennsylvanians a seat at the table, the fracking industry claimed the public “has no place” in discussions about regulating drilling in Pennsylvania. [1] Gov. Wolf made the right move. But with the gas drilling industry and their allies in Harrisburg pushing back, we need to make sure he doesn’t backpedal and give in to a very powerful industry. If anyone should have their voices heard, it’s the people who suffer the devastating effects of living near oil and gas wells. Tell Gov. Wolf that the people of Pennsylvania deserve a strong voice in how the oil and gas industry operates in Pennsylvania.” [1] “Natural gas industry criticizes Pennsylvania DEP,” Pittsburgh Post-Gazette, March 21, 2015

  • Protect Marine Life From Extinction
Scientists and researchers have discovered that with the current extinction rates and the increasing dead zones, the oceans could be lifeless by 2050. China currently harvests 32,000 metric tons of krill annually in Antarctica’s waters. On March 4, 2015 China announced that they are going to ramp up their efforts 30-60 times, possibly harvesting up to 2 million metric tons of krill yearly. Species such as the chin-strap penguin have depleted 50% in the last 30 years and the depletion is directly linked to the reduction in krill. The future of the next seven generations and beyond depend on the actions WE take today. If we don’t take the necessary measures, humans could face extinction by the end of this century.

  • Move The NCAA Out of Indiana
The NCAA is the governing body of the vast majority of college athletics. To have corporate offices in a state with the freedom to discriminate against visitors, particularly the gay community, the NCAA would be condoning the actions of the state's legislature and governor. If it convened meetings in Indianapolis, it would subject its guests to sanctioned bigotry.

  • Hillsborough County Commissioners: Vote YES on Wage Theft Recovery Ordinance
What is wage theft? Wage theft is any form of illegal underpayment or non-payment of wages earned by workers and can take various forms. • Overtime: employer fails to pay 1 ½ times the regular pay rate after 40 hours of work in a week. • Minimum wage: employer pays less than the minimum wage. • Being required to “work off the books:” working through lunch breaks or other required breaks, forced to work after having “clocked out” or after work hours are done, being compelled to attend meetings or events as part of the job, but not being paid to do so. • Not giving a final paycheck: this type of wage theft often happens with employers who go out of business or who move. • Stealing some (or all) of an employee’s tips: the employer is not entitled to any of an employee’s tips, which are part of his or her wages. • Falsifying the records of hours worked: shortening the official record of hours worked to be less than the actual hours. • Misclassifying an employees as an “independent contractor:” classifying an employee as an independent business steals from that employee by requiring him or her to lose benefits such as unemployment compensation and workers compensation, and transfers extra taxes onto him or her.

  • Minority Disability Services providers in Illinois don't stand a chance.
After 21 years in the business of providing disability services I have taken over 4 failing minority disability businesses in Illinois. You would think this would mean big business right? Wrong! Those 4 businesses, plus my own means, I serve 50 clients, while white run businesses serve hundreds even thousands of people. The minority agencies are targeted to close down. The Illinois DHS does nothing to make sure that the minority businesses are treated fairly and the distribution of all requests for services is sent to minority agencies as a part of the choice process. Stop the racism in the Illinois Disability community.

  • Abolish the Electoral College and remove it from the political process. It has outlived it's purp...
Too many times in recent history has the Electoral College overridden the popular vote in elections, thus defying the will of the people! It may have served an important function in the election process in the past, but it is now an obsolete dinosaur being twisted and used by political parties (particularly the far Right!) to circumvent the will of the peoples majority. My 14 y/o son noticed this during the recent Congressional elections, and asked me "why bother voting?" I believe this is a large part of why many people do not vote. This must stop.

  • No Time limits for EEOC disability discrimination complaints
My employer in Oklahoma failed to accommodate for my mental disability, forcing me to quit serequel 300mg a day for 2 years cold turkey. This sent my mind in psychosis, basically making my brain non-functional for 13 months. And because of that I am penalized for not making a disability discrimination complaint within the time required. THIS IS UNJUST, AND UNDERMINES THE ENTIRE PURPOSE OF DISABILTY LAWS.

  • Bring Johanna Home
Johanna is being held hostage in Missouri Foster Care over a malpractice cover up, a false hotline report, and fraudulent removal for county funding. She has been abused in foster care and never abused at home prior to foster care. She has had her mouth busted, a 90 -min seizure in the Christian County Mo. foster Care. She was left with Foster father alone at time of seizure. This child never had a seizure before foster care! She has never been around strangers. The foster mother signed for a spinal tap, they never called us. We have proof they never called. The foster Mother signed for spinal tap without parental permission.! The tap was not successful so a second spinal tap was done!! She was 16 months old at the time and having a stress tachycardia! The caseworkers never called us and she could have died. She is grieving for us we have videos of her grieving for us at CPS visits. The caseworkers signed that we could not visit her in hospital. The Foster Parent's attorney yelled, "I don't care," at the courthouse when I complained about his client and the abuse to my grandchild. Johanna has had her Mouth busted and pink eye more than once. I believe she is being molested in foster care. I now have been forced to file suit against the State. Someone must stand up to the state of Missouri and Gov. Nixon about this abuse of power and fraud, abuse to my grandchild by their lousy system. The complaint advocate is under their paycheck too. M. Bower, 2015. for Truth and Justice in Missouri , (see the facts on Saving Johanna on Facebook, view the foster abuse pictures. )
