We are mothers who have been prevented from getting help for our adult children when they become ill with severe mental illness. We founded Voices of the Mothers to advocate for reform to our mental health laws, and to give voice to the mothers, fathers, family members and all caregivers who are told there is nothing they can do when they try to get assistance for their loved ones. Instead of helping them to recovery with the life-saving medications and treatments that are available, we must watch helplessly as they deteriorate. Our mental health laws and public health systems should mandate treatment before tragedy. Under the guise of protecting civil liberties, these policies leave the most vulnerable to suffer the trauma and indignity of jails, homelessness, and the revolving doors of hospital emergency rooms. We believe that members of our community stricken with debilitating disorders deserve the compassionate help they need to be able to someday choose a path to wellness. We are asking the county to institute AB1421 as a way to restore civil liberties and lives of dignity to those who have had those benefits hijacked by persistent untreated illness.

Teddy tanks are horrible for fish and bettas. This is because bettas require a 2.5 gallon tank or bigger. The Teddy Tank is only 1 gallon. Also, ALL MARINE ORGANISMS REQUIRE A FILTER! You can not fit a filter in a the Teddy Tank. Neither can you fit a heater, and this is beneficial for your fish's life. This is About Returning Earned Benefits to Retirees of AT&T. As a retiree, our incomes are limited. Now, we are faced with having to pay Insurance premiums when we worked hard all our years to earn it. That is wrong. We will probably have to go on food stamps in the future because of the greed of Corporation ATT. Now, is that what the public needs? AT&T should pay their Retiree benefits that they EARNED without making them pay Insurance premiums.

I'm disgusted with the inaction of Congress, especially the GOP-controlled House of Representatives. This issue is only one of many that need attention.

It's very important to all of us to have an Attorney General who is fair, impartial and progressive, exactly what the Republicans don't want. We need to give massive support to Obama's nomination. We need to encourage the Democrats to show some backbone.

Because it's long overdue -- "accountability" ain't just a word, it's a concept RW sociopaths need to learn and learn fast. After a 'sneak attack' of a Surprise 8.8% Property Tax Increase passed unanimously by Supervisor Venditto & the Oyster Bay Town Board, residents are organizing in disgust and outrage to REVOLT & REPEAL THE SURPRISE 8.8% PROPERTY TAX INCREASE immediately. Oyster Bay residents deserve better than tax hike after tax hike that over the past five years are now equal to $500 on average per homeowner and $90.00 from this most recent 8.8% tax hike.
