Jennifer Whalen is a single mom in very difficult circumstances. She was just sentenced to 18 months in prison for trying to help her daughter get safe, legal abortion care! A round trip to the nearest in-state clinic was over 150 miles, and Pennsylvania has a mandatory waiting period which would have meant making the trip twice in as many days or staying overnight. As a full-time nursing home aide, that would’ve been very difficult. On top of all this, her daughter doesn’t have health insurance to cover the cost of abortion service at a doctor's office or hospital. Whether or not we think what the mother did was right, we can all agree that the real offenders here are the politicians who’ve put abortion out of reach for so many women. We need to bring state politicians face to face with the consequences of their actions and hold them accountable. Richard Bruce Cheney, George W. Bush, Donald Rumsfeld, Alberto Gonzales, David Addington, William Haynes II, Jay Bybee and John Yoo have been convicted by the War Crimes Commission in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia as war criminals for torture and inhumane treatment of war crime victims at US military facilities. These war criminals are unable to travel outside of the United States for fear that they will be arrested. The fact that the United States has not held these individuals accountable for their glaring crimes against humanity is a travesty of justice! For years I, and many others around the U.S., have been duped into believing that in order to operate a motor vehicle you must have license. About 5 years ago, I learned that that is untrue. Its just another way for government to regulate your everyday movement...YOU DO NOT EVER NEED A LICENSE TO DRIVE on America's roadways if you're not involved in any trade or commerce. You are protected from incarceration under the "life, liberty, and pursuit of happiness" clause in the United States Constitution.

This is extremely important because these politicians are trying to take away women's rights to affordable birth control care. As human beings we should have the right to make our own health care decisions without interference of our bosses. What business is it of theirs if I want to be on birth control? Women should be allowed to make decisions for her own body just as men are able to. How are we being treated equally if we can't have a simple birth control pill covered by our work that might I add also produces other health benefits, yet vasectomies are still being covered for men. The answer is that we are in fact not being treated equally whatsoever. It's time to take a stand against these politicians who seem to think they can control the decisions of our own body's. I started this petition because I am a woman as well and I want to be treated equally. My son Connor had 3 different substitute teachers within 6 days, including his teacher, that makes 4 new faces in 6 days. In the past Central York allowed their teachers to have a top 5 list of substitutes that knew their classrooms. Having the top 5 allows consistency in the classroom and is beneficial to any child's learning experience. It is a disservice to our students to have a different teacher in there on a daily basis when a teacher is out.

In Alaska we believe in the rights of the individual. Corporations are not individuals and should not be allowed to buy elections. We need to overturn Citizens United so individual citizens determine the outcome of elections.

I have been with sprint over 5 years and the service gets worse yearly. I'm paying over $130 a month for service that doesn't work. I constantly experience dropped calls and no data connection which means my emails and text messages will not come through. The only time service half-way work is if you're connected to Wi-Fi which doesn't help all the time either. Sprint should release all customers from their contracts free of charge if there is no coverage in their area, especially if it shows that on their website when you type in your address. It should not be legal to sell phones that don't work in certain areas.

The proposed route through Nelson County traverses much of our most scenic, rugged, and undeveloped terrain. Specifically, the construction of the pipeline through the watershed of the Rockfish River would disturb and damage surface water resources at or near every stream crossing. The existence of a gas pipeline of the magnitude proposed would have a harmful effect on tourism, a critical component of the economy of Nelson County. The continued presence would impose a significant burden on local government resources including but not limited to our largely volunteer fire and rescue services. Real estate along or near the proposed route would be adversely impacted, harming property owners directly in the path of the pipeline, as well as neighboring properties. Nelson County would not derive any perceptible benefit from the project sufficient to compensate for the harm caused to property owners, tourism, natural resources, and the ongoing disruption of life in the county for a period of years. Please help to resolve this!
