  • Free Marissa Alexander. Stop Angela Corey.
Angela Corey is known as the "killingest prosecutor," and her reputation of racial bias and overly harsh prosecutions speaks for itself. It's unacceptable. Florida Governor Rick Scott has the power to help us stop Corey. He has the authority to help free Marissa and suspend Corey for unjustly and excessively punishing her.

  • Massachusetts: Let's put kids ahead of corporations
It's time for Massachusetts to put expanding opportunity for everyone ahead of special tax breaks for a few huge corporations. Corporations dodge taxes by booking profits made here to offshore tax havens that levy little to no tax. We could close that loophole at the state level -- without waiting for Congress -- and recover $79 million each year. Oregon and Montana have already passed this reform in those states. If we invested that money in early education, we could take 8,953 kids off the wait list and put them into classrooms. Studies show this one the most powerful ways we can eliminate the opportunity gap and give every child a fair shot. Kids who go to preschool do better in school, and are more likely to go to college and get a good job. But it's just too expensive for many families, and tens of thousands of kids are on waiting list for public programs in Massachusetts. We can do better. We've got just a few weeks to convince lawmakers drafting the budget to put kids ahead of corporations. I know they will be hearing from the corporate lobbyists who benefit from these loopholes. The only way we'll win is if they hear from you, too.

  • Thank you President Rajapaksa for standing up to Monsanto
The world is finally beginning to realize that these Pesticides and Herbicides are harmful to human beings. The President of Sri Lanka is one of the few world leaders who has been strong enough to stand up to these powerful Chemical Companies. Hopefully one by one our world leaders will get together to request these companies to do more LONG TERM SAFETY studies before human beings are exposed to these toxic chemicals. WE do not have to prove that these products are safe. Monsanto has to prove that BEFORE they expose us to these chemicals. We SHOULD NOT forget that. An interesting documentary on how rural farmers in Canada and US were treated by Monsanto - this defies common sense http://youtu.be/omtYlsG1P5U

  • JP MORGAN CHASE, WELLS FARGO, MASS MUTUAL LIFE: Stop Committing Elder Abuse Against My Elderly an...
My mother and I have been fighting this in court for over 11 years. Even though, we have proven that there were no missing payments, the judge disregarded most of the evidence and granted the banks the right to evict anyway. In the meantime, John Stolarenko, the former president of Eastwood Mortgage Bankers who signed my mothers original loan documents, was convicted of mortgage fraud and served 10 months in prison. JP Morgan Chase/Wells Fargo/MassMutual took over the loan, and picked up where Washington Mutual left off, pushing forward with their attempts to evict my mother and take her home. I was advised on March 20th, by Sabira Bektic of Wells Fargo that she intends to evict my mother onto the street in the cold and that she has already provided paperwork to the sheriff's office.

  • Support Medicaid Expansion in Virginia
There's a critical special legislative session happening this week in Richmond that will determine whether nearly 200,000 Virginians gain access to health care—and MoveOn members can make or break the outcome. The question is whether Virginia will accept federal Medicaid funds, as Obamacare encourages. Other Republican-led states have done it. Virginia voters strongly support it. And the state Senate just passed it. But right now, some Republicans in the House of Delegates are standing in the way.

  • Support Medicaid expansion in Virginia
Went to a town hall meeting with Creigh Deeds, David Toscano,Ed Howell President and CEO UVA Hospital and Bill Hazel, Sect. of Health & Human Resources in VA. Listened to the audience voice their opinions. The bottom line, at no cost to VA taxpayers we can cover 200,000+ Virginians who fall thru the gap, keep rural hospitals from closing and improve the lives of those covered. It's a win-win for ALL Virginians.
