We as parents are coming together to stop these offenders from reoffending again. Our children's safety is our top priority as parents. We believe harsher punishment should be imposed as well as changes be made with the registering of offenders. In most cases these individuals will reoffend therefore the safety of our children is always a concern. These offenders must be stopped.

WE THE UNDERSIGNED have genuine issues with senior Judge Thomas Gallen of 12th Judicial Circuit Florida. Judge Gallen has adjudicated in foreclosure hearings in Manatee County for a period much longer than the ‘temporary’ basis usually permitted for senior judges and at 82 years of age, he is considerably past the retirement age. As a “senior” judge he is not an elected official and therefore he is not accountable to the public for his actions and decisions. Court watchers have observed the following: Judge Gallen-- 1. Has stated openly in court that he has already decided the case before the attorneys are finished presenting the case-- 2. Often refuses to allow defense attorneys to have a closing argument— 3. Openly assists the bank plaintiff by questioning the defense witness himself— 4. Allows the bank plaintiff to enter paperwork outside the “4 corners of the complaint” in a Motion To Dismiss— 5. Provides case law to plaintiffs during hearings and trials to ensure that they prevail-- 6. Interprets the law differently for Plaintiffs than he does for defendants-- Judge Gallen makes decisions in foreclosure cases without regard to the evidence put before him, without regard to the relevant laws, Florida Statutes, case law and Rules of Civil Procedure. He makes decisions before the defendants have fully presented their case and attempts to prosecute cases from the bench. He is clearly prejudiced in favor of the Banks, financial institutions and unauthorized entities. When a Judge fails to judge fairly, understand the complicated and ever changing foreclosure issues, and has nothing to lose when he takes away a person’s property rights unfairly, he must be removed. Defendants do not want to present cases in front of Judge Gallen because he is biased. Judges in foreclosure cases are both judge and jury. The Constitution grants everyone due process of law. [N]or shall any State deprive any person of life, liberty, or property, without due process of law . . . Amendment V of the Constitution Where an individual is facing a deprivation of life, liberty, or property, procedural due process mandates that he or she is entitled to adequate notice, a hearing, and a neutral judge. Many concerned citizens have wanted to have protests in front of the courthouse. We would like to avoid this undignified action. We respect the law and the courts. WE THE UNDERSIGNED RESPECTFULLY REQUEST THAT JUDGE THOMAS GALLEN BE REMOVED FROM HEARING FORECLOSURE ACTIONS IN THE 12TH JUDICIAL CIRCUIT COURT.

This latest stunt by Damon Feldman — a man notorious for organizing fixed, unlicensed celebrity boxing matches — will allow George Zimmerman to further victimize a dead young Black man for personal gain. True justice for Trayvon was denied by "Shoot First" laws and a broken court system. Feldman seeks nothing more than to line his pockets from a potentially rigged fight designed to stoke and exploit racial strife. Don’t be a part of this game of media manipulation.

I already pay a ridiculous amount for internet to a horrible company. I have been patiently waiting for a fiber based ISP in my home town so I can get better service at better prices. HB 60 will destroy all my hopes to pay a fair price for a good product.

Rep. John Sarbanes introduced the Government By The People Act, a new bill that will help reverse the impact of Citizens United and incentivize candidates to pay attention to everyday voters, instead of big-money donors. The Government By The People Act matches small-dollar donations under $150 with public funds 6-to-1, so that a $25 contribution turns into $175 -- or $100 into $700 -- amplifying the voice of everyday people. This will save taxpayers hundreds of billions in corporate welfare that results from politicians sucking up to big-money donors. In order to win on any issue -- reforming Wall Street, passing a higher minimum wage, or battling corporate polluters -- we need to break the influence of big-money in our democracy.

It's bad enough that more than a year after the Sandy Hook massacre, Congress hasn't acted on common sense gun laws, but should Wall Street profit and laugh all the way to the bank? The Wall Street firm Cerberus Capital Management still hasn't honored its promise to divest itself of Freedom Group, the manufacturer of the military-style assault weapon that killed 20 first grade children and six educators at Sandy Hook Elementary. Cerberus is still dragging its feet and holding out for a generous buyer to take on Freedom Group, despite its growing toxicity. Even some of Cerberus' own investors are fed up and demanding to divest from gun manufacturer. Now Bank of America is stepping in -- to help the side that uses gun profits to lobby against laws that prevent gun violence. Bank of America is leading the effort to raise money on behalf of Freedom Group, so that the gun manufacturer can buy off those responsible investors trying to get out. (To the tune of $175 million.) Meanwhile, Cerberus hangs onto its other Freedom Group investments. Don't let Bank of America get away with it. Demand that they pull out of the deal immediately. Sign this petition.

The Election Laws Conference Committee will reconcile the differences between election modernization bills passed by the Massachusetts Senate and House. The Committee will ultimately decide whether Massachusetts becomes a national leader in expanding opportunities to vote or whether we continue to lag behind a majority of other states. And the decision could be made any day now. Help keep the pressure on the committee members to advance comprehensive election modernization legislation that will make a real difference in ensuring free, fair and accessible elections in Massachusetts. Massachusetts may not be home to the worst kinds of voter suppression and restrictive voting laws, but our outdated laws unnecessarily disenfranchise countless voters and throw up needless hurdles to voting. House Bill 1507 is what ALEC and the Koch brothers call a “Paycheck Protection” bill. As stated by the Pennsylvania AFL-CIO, "The facts are clear, even though you won’t hear them in the commercials that the Koch brothers are financing. Automatic payroll deduction of dues is not mandated by any law, rather it is bargained for during contract negotiations. This deduction does not cost taxpayers money. Unions already agreed to reimburse the state for costs associated with deductions of PAC funds, but according to the [Commonwealth] of Pennsylvania, there is no measurable cost to be reimbursed." This bill does not address any real and substantive issue. Therefore, it is nothing more than political theater and a thinly veiled attack on Pennsylvania's workers.

I’m from West Virginia, and the recent chemical spill breaks my heart, makes me very angry, and makes me scared for my friends and family. Imagine not being able to give your children a glass of water to drink. Imagine not being able to cook for them, or having to tell them that they can't bathe or brush their teeth because the water will make them sick. Imagine being pregnant and told that the water could be harmful to your pregnancy. It's terrifying. That’s what happened to tens of thousands of moms in West Virginia, including many of my friends, because a toxic foaming agent used in coal processing, leaked into the Elk River and contaminated the water supply for 300,000 West Virginians, cutting them off from clean water for as many as 10 days. THE RECENT SPILL IS YET ANOTHER EXAMPLE OF THE DANGERS OF RELYING ON DIRTY ENERGY! We all know it's time to make our energy cleaner and safer to protect the health of our families. Power plants produce 40% of our country's carbon pollution, which creates smog and provokes asthma at a time when one in 10 kids have it. There's a proposal to finally limit power plant carbon emissions. Please help me tell the United States Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) that American families want cleaner and safer energy to protect our families’ health and sign on to demand cleaner power plants now.

In his budget address, Governor Tom Corbett announced plans to open up Pennsylvania's state forests to fracking. It's a short-sighted attempt to balance the state budget. Our state forests are too precious to put in the hands of drillers. And, since pollution knows no boundaries, drilling's detrimental effects would extend far beyond our forests' borders, impacting our health, safety, and economy. Public opinion polls have shown that the majority of Pennsylvanians oppose fracking on public lands, but our Governor isn't listening, so we need to get louder. Tell the Governor and the legislature to protect our state forests from fracking! (We are gathering more signatures on this petition we originally delivered on February 25th. General Electric is one of the worst corporate tax dodgers out there. It has managed to pay ZERO dollars in federal income taxes for four recent years -- thanks to some big tax loopholes and some clever accounting. The company has mobilized a small army of lobbyists in Washington this year, because one of its most profitable tax loopholes has just expired. This loophole -- known as the "active financing" loophole -- lets General Electric put off paying its U.S. taxes indefinitely when it shifts the profits it makes from interest and dividends to offshore tax havens. This one loophole will cost $70 billion over the next 10 years. Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell has said that a large package of corporate tax loopholes, which includes the active financing loophole, should be renewed without the cost being covered. That’s not right. Our country should not go further into debt to keep a tax loophole open for a profitable, tax-dodging corporation like General Electric. This loophole shouldn’t even exist in the first place. Tell Sen. McConnell to end the active financing tax loophole, period. Make General Electric and other big corporations pay their fair share of taxes.
