Rhode Islanders have been lied to for votes long enough and is the cause of our crumbling state. Gina Raimondo has shown that she will make decisions that benefit her alone and not the Unions, the Immigrants needing real help and the tax payers of Rhode Island.

The Declaration of Independence states: "We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal, that they are endowed by their creator with certain unalienable rights." It is every taxpaying citizen's right to be recognized by the government as equal. Anything else is discrimination, and creates a lesser class of citizenship. Therefore, the fight for marriage equality in Wisconsin is such a given, as currently our gay citizens are clearly being discriminated against. With all of this knowledge, it is shocking to me that our Governor recently stated that there is "no significant movement" to obtain equal marriage rights in Wisconsin. It's time to show Gov. Walker that he is wrong, Wisconsians DO support marriage equality and our movement is growing! Please join me in telling Scott Walker and Wisconsin, that we are all equal, and deserve equal rights and protections from the government!

I have diabetes, and have lost consciousness, and thought to be drunk because my blood sugars have gone very high or low. I am not able to obtain a Continuous Glucose Monitoring System (CGMS) because medicare considers it "experimental" even though it has been proven to help diabetics. H.R.3710 [Rep. Shea-Porter, Carol [D-NH-1] (Introduced 12/11/2013)]- Medicare CGM Coverage Act - Amends title XVIII (Medicare) of the Social Security Act (SSA) to cover continuous glucose monitoring systems (CGMS) (including a transmitter, receiver, sensors, and test strips required for use) as durable medical equipment (DME). A Continuous Glucose Monitoring System (CGMS) is vitally important to many diabetics. This device continuously monitors blood sugars, and alerts when blood sugars start to go dangerously low or high. A CGMS uses a disposable sensor that is placed under the skin every three to seven days and sends a signal to a remote receiver. The receiver provides an estimated blood glucose (sugar) level every five minutes. This allows you to track whether blood glucose is moving up or down (and how fast). The receiver can sound an alarm if the level is too high or too low, or if it is rising or falling too rapidly, so you can take action to correct it. It allows you to detect patterns of highs and lows, so that treatments and habits can be modified to safely improve control. Keeping blood sugars as normal as possible reduces the chances of complications in diabetics, and can reduce the number of Emergency Room visits, and reduce the time required by Medics and Police Officers to tend to "Drunken" calls and passed out diabetics. The New England Journal of Medicine (NEJM) published a study October 2, 2008, [http://www.nejm.org/doi/full/10.1056/NEJMoa0805017] proving CGMS can be associated with improved blood sugar control in adults with type 1 diabetes. Even with this, and other studies, medicare still considers the CGMS "experimental". There are some medicare advantage plans that cover CGMS, but these plans are regional, and not available to all patients that need a CGMS. CGMS is now a covered benefit for 70 to 80 percent of Americans who have commercial insurance. This petition will save lives, and offer a better life for diabetics.

As a bisexual citizen of Wisconsin with a great number of friends and loved ones who are part of the LGBT community, I think it is reprehensible that Scott Walker can be willing to go on public record stating his willful ignorance of our fight for equality.

Dear Rep. Allyson, As your constituent, I write to ask you to urge contact ICE to release Israel Hernandez (A# 079-737-080) from York County Correctional Facility. He is the father of two U.S. citizen girls and they need him home. Israel has been living in the United States for over a decade. He is a small business owner in Norristown, Pennsylvania, known for caring about his community. He donates money, time and contibute to churches, and the local police and fire departments. Israel was picked up by ICE on January 27, 2014 as he was closing his business and was taken to the local county jail. Israel had to return to Mexico in October of 2013 because he father died and he wanted to be present at his funeral. He tried to return immediately after the funeral but was detained at the border, and he was deported in November of last year. His crime was to be with his father in his last moment of life. His nine-year-old daughter, Caitlin, has not eaten since her father’s arrest, almost two days. She is terrified that he may be deported and separated from her. I urge you to contact ICE to immediately release Israel Hernandez (A# 079-737-080) so he can return to his family and his community in Norristown.

Damon Feldman, owner of Celebrity Boxing has organized a boxing match with George Zimmerman, the murderer of the unarmed teenage boy, Trayvon Martin. Zimmerman will fight rapper DMX. It is estimated that at least one third of all the employees in the state will directly experience health endangering harassment, intimidation or bullying during their work lives. This form of mistreatment is more prevalent than sexual harassment. Harassment , intimidation and bullying in the work place can inflict serious harm upon targeted employees which include shame, humiliation, severe anxiety, depression, suicidal tendencies, impaired immune systems, hypertension, increased risk of cardiovascular disease and symptoms consistent with PTSD. Additionally, harassment reduces workers productivity, morale; however it increases turnover rates and medial/worker compensation claims. Under current law employees who are subjected to harassment, intimidation and bullying ARE NOT protected if the employee cannot establish that the mistreatment was motivated by race, color, sex, sexual orientation, national origin, religion.

Walmart, the American multinational retail giant, currently sells Crickett Firearms, a line of rifles that are marketed to very young children under the tagline “My First Rifle.” These weapons often look like toys, coming in colors like pink and orange. The American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP) has made it clear that “the safest home for children is one without a gun.” According to a past president of the AAP, “Young children are curious, and are often unable to remember or follow safety rules ... When you combine these traits with access to guns, the consequences can be tragic and permanent.” As the second largest public corporation in the world, Walmart says “we’re proud of what we’ve accomplished so far on our journey to become a more…responsible business.” But responsible businesses do not market weapons to young children.

Last year, the Supreme Court gutted the landmark Voting Rights Act of 1965. Since then, state legislatures across the country have raced to implement new restrictive laws that would do exactly what the Voting Rights Act was meant to protect against. We have a golden opportunity to stop that. Right Now. On January 16, 2014, Representatives Jim Sensenbrenner (R-WI) and John Conyers (D-MI) and Senator Patrick Leahy (D-VT) introduced new bi-partisan legislation—the Voting Rights Amendment Act of 2014—that would strengthen the Voting Rights Act. This bill isn't perfect, but is the best vehicle we have for restoring the rights struck down by the Supreme Court last year. Improving and passing this bill won't be easy. Already, opponents are gearing up to derail its passage. Despite the fact that the bill is bi-partisan, it's not guaranteed to pass. Join us in calling on members of Congress to improve and co-sponsor this vital bill.
