The eyes of the rest of America will be on you and your state. Failing to fully correct this gap runs the risk of an indeterminate election outcome for which you will be held accountable. The Fifteenth Amendment (Amendment XV) to the United States Constitution prohibits the federal government and each state from denying a citizen the right to vote based on that citizen's "race, color, or previous condition of servitude". Governor Kemp, this is YOUR purview and YOUR responsibility to insure that the residents of Georgia are represented and the residents of the other 49 states, the District of Columbia and the 16 territories are not impacted or held hostage to any disputable election outcome because of your negligence. Should you fail to insure a smooth and flawless election without incident you can expect consequences which may range from calling for your resignation, state-wide protests and/or boycotts. You are highly encourage to insure that you fulfill the responsibility of the Fifteenth Amendment and the Voting Rights Act of 1965.

Black Lives Matter. This is an insult to people everywhere, but especially to black people living in Charlottesville.

OAN frequently runs erroneous and conspiratorial editorials and news stories. They have been rated by All Sides Media as "Low" in terms of confidence in their reporting. They recently aired a story that claimed the 75 year old protester from Buffalo New York was an agent of Antifa, and worked with China. Both claims are false and yet the President still retweeted these claims. He is a big fan of OAN and it is easy to see why when they run sycophantic and adoring stories of his more base and abhorrent actions and policies. It is time to get them out of America's finest city and send them looking for a home.

"No one should feel uncomfortable when they come to a NASCAR race. It starts with confederate flags," Bubba Wallace, the only Black driver in NASCAR, said. "Get them out of here. They have no place for them." In the wake of George Floyd's murder, there's a renewed effort to rid public spaces of racist symbols like the confederate flag. It's time for NASCAR to stop looking the other way on a symbol that makes Black people and those who don't support white supremacy deeply unwelcome and uncomfortable visiting its race tracks. NASCAR's majority white fan base is exactly where a conversation on racism and white supremacy needs to happen. By opposing the confederate flag, NASCAR's CEO Jim France can show that NASCAR stands on the right side of history.

Because of COVID-19 the prisons and jails have stopped all visits to their facilities. Now that the country is opening back up we want to able to visit with our loved ones, too. To keep our family relationships strong, to lessen anxiety about the safety and mental health of family and loved one, and to help prevent recidivism. We need the Deptments of Corrections to open up visiting again to our loved ones.

Symbols of racism propagate racism. Symbols of hope propagate hope. Let's put Tennessee on the right side of history.

This petition provides the necessary time to design a mail-in ballot that is machine-readable, and print the volume needed; as is the procedure in other mail-in states. On June 1st, a group of peaceful protestors in D.C. -- gathered to decry the murder of George Floyd and demand justice -- were violently attacked by law enforcement officials with batons and shields, pepper spray, smoke canisters, and rubber bullets. And Attorney General William Barr gave the police the order to do it. He wanted to clear the area where protesters were demonstrating -- so that President Trump could take some photos in front of a nearby church. This is absolutely despicable. The Attorney General is supposed to uphold the Constitution and defend Americans’ liberties and safety -- but instead, Barr stripped people of their First Amendment rights and put them directly in harm’s way… all to serve Trump’s vanity. Barr has time and time again demonstrated that he is unfit to serve as Attorney General. He dropped all charges against Trump’s former National Security Advisor Michael Flynn, even after Flynn pleaded guilty… he brazenly misled the public about Robert Mueller’s findings… and his Department of Justice tried to bury the whistleblower complaint that led to Trump’s impeachment. Plus, he threatened legal action against those governors who sought to enforce social distancing regulations during the COVID-19 crisis -- falling in line with Trump’s stance against these life-saving measures. That's why Common Cause called for Barr's impeachment and removal at the end of last year -- and now, we're renewing that vital call. This attack on the rights and lives of everyday Americans must be the last straw. The Confederate flag is a symbol of hate and division. It serves no place in Government buildings.

All sophomore high school students in WLWV schools are required to take a US history class. In this class, I remember learning about the civil rights movement as if racism was a thing of the past. This is far from true, and students are often shielded from this reality in insular white communities like West Linn and Wilsonville. We must do better to educate our students on the realities of racism in the country today, ask them to examine their own privilege, and teach them how to effectively join the movement against police brutality and the prison industrial complex as a whole.
