Affordable Housing for people who earn $40,000 - $80,000 in New York CityMy petition is for affordable housing for what I consider the "lower middle class" in NYC. Landlords and rent guidelines are so biased. If you earn over $40,000 you're usually disqualified from affordable housing lotteries. You have no other choice but to waste money on broker's, security deposits and at least 1st months rent. Rents are sky rocketing in NY and after paying $1,300 or more in rent along with other rising costs in New York we hardly have any money left over for anything else.11 of 100 SignaturesCreated by Kenny Consuegra

Three Feet Please!Dear Gov. Brown: With the failing struggle to maintain sprawl draining our municipalities' budgets, we must do everything we can to promote bicycling for local travel, which will reduce wear and tear on infrastructure and alleviate road and parking congestion. Yet careless motorists frequently "buzz" cyclists, with often dire results--worse, we often see posts and comments erroneously claiming that cyclists have no right to the road, and that it is permissible to engage in this sort of intimidation against them. Your repeated vetoes of three-foot passing bills have sent a signal to the population that cyclists are expendable and that only drivers matter to you. Please support--or initiate!--the next safe passing bill to protect the thousands of cyclists who are doing their part to protect our environment and our economy both. Note: A proposed amendment to AB 1371 would effectively result in a safe-passing law if signed by Gov. brown.1,460 of 2,000 SignaturesCreated by Richard Risemberg

Members of Congress should be furloughed and lose 20% or more of their salariesAccording to "The Influence Industry" column by T.W. Farnam in today's Washington Post, "Stan Collender, a leading expert on federal fiscal matters...said the fate of lawmakers salaries in the sequester falls into the gray area and the fact that they are left untouched is likely the result of 'some sort of internal, below the radar decision.'"271 of 300 SignaturesCreated by Margaret Costello

COBRA CONTINUATIONI think given current legislation mandating health insurance, that if a person has coverage through COBRA, where we pay the entire premiuim, we should be allowed to keep this plan until we get a new job that offers insurance.1 of 100 SignaturesCreated by andy hunt

send congress a messageWhen voting for members of congress, lets send the message that we are tired of your inability to cooperate and get work done. Vote all of them out. Ask for term limits of 8 years and no more life long healthcare or retirement benefits for just serving one term. Like your fellow Americans, you need to work at a job for 20 years before your entitled to benefits.13 of 100 SignaturesCreated by Mary Giorgi-Doore

Let the People Vote! The citizens of Alabama have the right to either vote up or down on the topic of lottery and gambling; thanks in part to the over imagination of the Alabama Supreme Court and the Attorney General, Luther Strange, the people of Alabama are being subjected over and over again to the political tug of war over something that can be settled once and for all by the people.5 of 100 SignaturesCreated by Amanda Wade
