  • Electric Car Initiative
Electric vehicles are the only way for commuters to tap into the ever-changing energy landscape. Commuter cars cannot easily adopt new sources of energy as quickly, or efficiently, as utility companies can. As exemplified in the unanticipated shift in price for natural gas, the cost of converting gasoline engines for its use, and the lack of infrastructure to back it, have left consumers unable to benefit from the low costs it promises. Furthermore, green energy sources such as solar and/or wind, remain equally out of reach. Electric cars remove this barrier, allowing consumers to benefit from whatever source of energy provides the best value at any given time. This petition seeks to address three of the most pressing issues behind the adoption of electric cars by the public. Current models sport batteries of varying configurations and charge requirements. The utility of these vehicles is further hampered by both the time it takes to recharge them, and the limited numbers of recharge cycles prior to their replacement. Lastly, the initial cost of the vehicles themselves deters consumers by remaining substantially above the costs of its substitutes. With this initiative in place, a solution to these issues is pursued simultaneously, and a new market born. With the new paradigm in place, market forces can then drive this technology in the most efficient direction, and in time, foster an entirely new industry.

  • Replace the state 'Income Tax'
An over-haul of the state tax system is imperative due to unemployment and those who avoid paying Income Tax. Individuals paid by check or in cash for services, tree removal, house painting or lawn maintenance to include small home repairs do NOT report such income; thus, no income tax paid. Replacing the 'Income Tax' with an adjusted 'Sales Tax' would make everyone subject to paying "their fair share" to support the budget. This system would make allowances for those above the $200,000 bracket, who would still be subject to an adjusted income tax.

  • Sieze the Congressional Escrow Accounts
For most of us, no work means no pay. It doesn’t mean our un-earned pay is held in a savings account to collect interest, or as security for a loan. It means, if we don’t do our job, we lose our job, and any money withheld is gone forever. The No Budget No Pay Act of 2013 says if either legislative body fails to pass a budget, members of that body would have their paychecks put into an escrow account starting on April 16 until that body adopts a budget. Any pay that is withheld would eventually be released at the end of the current Congress even if a budget doesn’t ever pass.

  • Congress covered by Social Security and Medicare.
Congress has their own retirement pension program instead of Social Security like the American public.Tax payers pay for this. They also have their own Health Insurance program, paid for by tax payers. Congress would work harder to protect Social Security and Medicare if they were part of it like the rest of us.

  • Increase in SSI
I get paid $710.00 a month to live off of because I am disabled. With the increase that the president is proposing in minimum wages to $9.00 an hour, I believe there should also be an increase in SSI benefits for those who are disabled and or are veterans alike. To stabilize the economy, you cannot only increase or cut payments to and from people in one area. You need to do it across the board, and the government knows this.
