The cuts in Social Security are going to affect the majority of Americans and would amount to "a cut of more than 5 percent and more as the years go by." For many retirees this would mean critical cuts to benefits that cover medicine, food, and other daily necessities.

Billions of dollars have been BORROWED from a fund, which is sacred to retirees, so that idotic politicians can fight UNDECLARED WARS on behalf of foreign countries. THIS MUST CEASE!!

Social Security is the sole source of income for me as wall as many others. Please don't allow congress to put SS and Medicare on the chopping block. I have worked for a living since I was 15 years old and have paid into Medicare and SS as long as they have been there. I can no longer work. SS is my sole source of income. I worked for it, paid into it and need it and I need it to not be compromised. I have been without healthcare insurance for almost 10 years. I know the rich folks and the big corporations can afford more taxes. We in the middle class can not. Please don't compromise us in the middle class.

Do not cut social security. I have earned it and still continue to earn it. I paid for it. It is mine. If you cut it without my approval you are stealing my savings. That is punishable by law.

I've paid into social security just like any retirement plan. It's supposed to be guaranteed with a cost of living increase built in. It's not part of any budget, leave it alone.

Ask the President not to cut social security benefits, and not to agree to keep some of the Bush tax benefits for the wealthy.

Proposed cuts to Social Security would be devastating to those among us who can least afford it. Tell Harry Reid and the Democrats in Congress that it is unacceptable to allow cuts to Social Security, Medicare or Medicaid as part of any debt/budget negotiations.

In the wake of the Connecticut massacre, it is time for the country to get behind sane and responsible laws regarding the use of firearms. There is no need for automatic weapons or large clips of ammunition. We can get this done.

Children's Mental Health is the base cause of the Newtown tragedy. Access to certain types of weapons is a means, an enabler and tightening that will help. But to really do something lasting and have a greater impact on the problem, addressing inadequacies in the Children's Mental Health System is essential.

Have paid into Social Security and Medicare for many years and now, to be told we can't have our benefits any longer! Seniors can barely make ends meet as it is!
