• Senior White Women asks Obama to Man Up
I know how important this election is even if my voting age kids are a bit oblivious. Obama needs to stop thinking everybody should love him. He needs to be a fighter, to MAN UP! Go after Romney, not defend his punches.

  • Bait and Switch
Usually, the old bait and switch tactic refers to telling lies to get you to buy something and then switching products. Tonight was saw the switch take place BEFORE buying the product in an opposite approach. All along, he's told us the truth about what he would do with taxes, Medicare, foreign policy, etc., but tonight, he switched before we could take the bait because the bait wasn't working. Nobody was buying. Easy fix: change the product to look more like the winning team even if the real Romney plan bears no resemblance. Personally, I was appalled at the gall of a man running for the highest office in the land to blatantly deny his own plans and policies. I think it might have even thrown Obama off his game to actually hear Romney deny and lie to the President and the people of this country. I was saddened by the extent he went to improve his chances. It was a terrible example to set for his 5 sons, if nothing else.

  • Style
I think the President needs to get a more "punchy" debate style: strong, on the offensive about the flip/flops, the 47% remark, the lack of specifics and not let Romney nor the moderator take over. BE the President and be strong and in your face. Also look at Romney more and not down so much. Jump on his weak points and press press press him for specifics.

  • Make Plastic Responsible
Plastic is everywhere! It's plentiful, and it can be useful. But plastic waste that is left in landfills won't biodegrade - it breaks into smaller bits that stay around for a long, long time. Some of this plastic ends up in the oceans (search for The Great Pacific Garbage Patch), and in animals like fish and seagulls. Plastic disposable items - razors, bags, packaging (think about the plastic that wraps around your vitamin bottles, candy wrappers, CD's) that aren't recyclable are never "disposed" of. But we can change that! Let's make the plastic that we dispose of either recyclable or biodegradable - keeping it out of the landfills and out of the food system. Sign this petition to ask our Governor to make all disposable plastic - from razors to wrappers - recyclable or biodegradable.

  • Take the gloves off Mr. President
Mr. President, I am tired of watching you not fight back. Tonight's debate was a perfect example of this. You were constantly on the defensive rather than attacking. Mitt Romney should not be able to share a stage with you, let alone dictate the conversation while on it.

  • Have James Carville moderate the presidential debates
For the love of all that is right and just in this world, Jim Lehrer cannot moderate another debate. We need a moderator with guts. Someone who can hold his own. We need James Carville

  • The Commission on Presidential Debates needs to enforce debate rules
Governor Mitt Romney practiced bullying tactics during the first presidential debate. He cut off the moderator, Jim Lehrer, and the President himself. The Commission on Presidential Debates needs to enforce their own rules on debates.

  • Presidential Debate Accuracy
During political debates I have trouble figuring what candidates are giving for answers. The biggest problem is remembering what the question was as the candidates drone on. All video broadcasters of political debates should display the text of the ACTUAL question asked during the answer period.

  • Navy veterans denied care for Agent Orange illnesses
Some Navy veterans say they feel like they have been stabbed in the back. Others returned their medals. Of the 400,000 Vietnam Navy veterans sick from Agent Orange in 2008, many doubted they would live long enough to get their medical benefits but wanted to fight anyway because they didn't want their sons and daughters who recently served in Iraq to go through the same thing. The problem started in 2002 when the Veterans Administration limited coverage of Agent Orange exposure to "boots on the ground." How many of the Navy Vietnam veteran Agent Orange survivors alive today will suffer and die from this neglect? The Blue Water Navy Bill HR 3612 was introduced to the US House of Representatives by Democrat US Congressman Lloyd Doggett and 3 other congressmen in Dec of 2011 after a study came out that proved these AMERICANS who served off the coast of Vietnam (and thus did not have "boots on the ground") were exposed to this harmful chemical. Now this bill has over 123 co-sponsors. However, Republican House Speaker, John Boehner, will not bring it up for a vote. A news investigation that aired on Sept 17 2008, ([email protected] ) revealed over 400,000 Navy veterans who served off the coast of Vietnam were dying from exposure to Agent Orange but are not eligible for receiving Veteran medical benefits. This report also referred to a study by the Centers for Disease Control showing cancer incidence rates are actually higher in sailors who served in the Navy than soldiers with boots on the ground during Vietnam. The seawater treatment system on the Navy vessels off the coast of Vietnam did not remove the high levels of Agent Orange. Navy veterans drank, cooked food, bathed, and washed their clothes in water tainted with harmful levels of Agent Orange. To learn more and follow these bills see the Fleet Reserve Association website and the website www.bluewaternavy.org
