As of July 4th over 132,000 people in the US have lost their lives to COVID-19. Despite being six months into the pandemic, there are still many unanswered questions. However, what we do know for sure is that masking up is an effective way to prevent the spread of this virus. Wearing a mask prevents people with COVID-19 from spreading it to others. This is a crucial line of defense when combatting a virus that can be spread even if a person doesn't have symptoms. Governor Abbott knows these facts and agrees that we must all wear masks in public to keep Texas open. Governor Abbott states that he does not want to suppress Texas voters who may not have a mask. By not extending the mask order to polling locations he will, unintentionally, suppress voters who are, appropriately, fearful of contracting COVID-19. As an emergency room pediatrician I am gravely concerned that we will see increased cases related to this election. As a state we have all sacrificed so much, we cannot allow our elections to further fan the flames of the COVID-19 pandemic. Please, tell Governor Abbott to include election polling locations in the statewide mask mandate.

Essential workers need to know that they have someone in their corner and that’s why I will not give up this fight. We are just as important as the non-essential workers who are unemployed due to being furloughed or laid-off. We deserve the same extra assistance. Our daily job functions have increased because we short staffed. We have much more pressure on us and economic hardship has intensified because we are carrying a heavier load. Meanwhile, food, childcare, utilities, medical bills, as well as daily life is increasing in price. This is bringing on mental and emotional stress for essential workers everywhere, and we are feeling unappreciated. Our work is necessary to keep the economy functioning and deserve extra assistance.

If true, Donald Trump is complicit in the murder of member of the US Armed Forces. He must be made to testify on oath as to the counterintelligence he received that led him to believe the reports of the bounties are untrue. He must defend his position, or be held accountable for their deaths.

Most of but as we know not all, the people that are out of work are the ones that don't need to work because they make thousands of dollars. The ones that are standing there on that front line are lower paid people that deserve that money also. I agree the extra money shall be there for unemployment but where is our bonus pay?

Recently, a variety of concerning issues have come to light that are directly associated with social organizations in AU Greek Life. Accusations of sexual assault and the lack of inclusivity associated with Greek Life, among a variety of other incidents, have taken a toll on our student body, so we think AU would be a better place without them. If AU claims to be the inclusive, diverse, and just place it brands itself as, it will stand with us in taking this crucial step.

I am a member of the United Keetoowah Band of Cherokee Indians in Oklahoma (UKB) and stand on the history of the UKB, and their rights and liberties that are afforded to them by an Act of Congress, by virtue of the tribe's organization under the Oklahoma Indian Welfare Act. I have watched for years the discrimination policies of the Cherokee Nation as they have withheld critical health benefits from UKB members, prevented UKB young people from higher education scholarships, and refused to grant employment to our tribal members unless they switched to CNO. CNO has the service area contract that is not benefiting the UKB Cherokee members. The UKB are an impoverished tribe, while the CNO are flourishing, with ten or more casinos in operations, operating on the very lands that the UKB are entitled to.

Because some of us have families and kids of our own that need us. But we are out there making sure u guys have everything you need to survive. We risk our lives for you guys

Over the past nine weeks, 38 millions of American workers who have been laid off are receiving double or even TRIPLE of what those are working hard and even risking their lives to make sure everyone else is safe. If essential workers are ESSENTIAL, then we should be treated as so. The North East neighborhood of St. Cloud desperately needs more street lighting to keep our youth safe. Why is this important? The North East neighborhood of St. Cloud is very poorly lit, and this is cause for concern for youth safety. The streets that are particularly concerning are 3rd St NE and 4th St NE leading to the bus stop on Wilson Ave NE. Youth and adults deserve a well-lit neighborhood to stay safe when walking at night to access public transportation. Help us keep our community safe by illuminating the North East neighborhood of St. Cloud!
