RCA: Drop sexual predator, R. Kelly now!Despite R. Kelly's decades-long documented coercion and sexual manipulation of young Black women, including countless civil suits and a trial for 14 counts of child pornography, he's never faced legal or financial consequences. In fact, RCA has relished in the publicity and intentionally popularized an image of R Kelly as a palatable sex symbol rather than the sexual predator he is. His well-documented pattern of grooming and abusing young girls didn't stop him from selling over 60 million albums and he's even currently on an extended national tour.83 of 100 SignaturesCreated by Rashad Robinson

Rhode Island: Defend DACA and protect lifelong residents from deportationUpdate: AG Kilmartin has signed onto AG Becerra (California)'s letter to the Trump administration directing them to defend DACA. Our focus is now on ensuring that our federal delegation sponsors the re-introduced Dream Act in order to codify permanent protection for Dreamers. ---- DACA, a policy memorandum issued in 2012 by Department of Homeland Security Secretary Napolitano, allows those who overstayed their visa or unlawfully entered the United States as children an opportunity to work, pay taxes, and remain in the U.S. without the constant fear of deportation. I am a DACA recipient. In 1998, I was brought to the U.S. from Portugal at the age of ten months. Prior to DACA, I was unsure of how I would live or work. I agonized over the fact that I wouldn't be able to seek lawful employment. I worried that I could be forced out of my home, the United States — the only country that I have ever known. I suffered from severe anxiety and depression. It was a challenge to merely get out of bed every morning. DACA changed my outlook on life. It has allowed me to obtain something as simple as a driver's license. It allows me to work and be treated with dignity. It allows to obtain an education and pursue the American Dream. But that dream is now at risk after ten states threatened to sue the Trump administration for continuing DACA. Dreamers are Americans in every way except for our citizenship status: something that we are not allowed to pursue because of our broken immigration system. If DACA is rescinded, the impact will be felt far beyond the 800,000 recipients nationwide that will be left jobless and unable to provide for their families. Ending DACA would have a grave economic impact on our communities, cities, and states as revenues shrink by over $800 million[2]. That is why we are calling on you, Governor Raimondo and Attorney General Kilmartin, to protect young Rhode Islanders by standing up to the Trump administration and demanding that the U.S. Justice Department defend DACA. Our federal delegation, Representatives Cicilline and Langevin, as well as Senators Reed and Whitehouse, must lead on this important issue by co-sponsoring legislation to codify a permanent solution for Dreamers. ---- [1] "Data Set: Form I-821D Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals." Your jails need air conditioning now. Subjecting someone to extreme temperatures is inhumane and a form of torture.166 of 200 SignaturesCreated by Rachel Hanson

Americans do you prefer "Hitler Care," "Trump Care," or "Obama Care?'This petition is necessary to call to the attention of Americans to the genocide of Americans by repealing Obama Care. The Republican House Health Bill, Trump's Budget, and support of Republicans in the Senate are clear flagships that Trump, Republicans, and Trump supporters plan to genocide Americans. Obama Care is not about protecting the 24 million, but 321 million Americans.1 of 100 SignaturesCreated by Dr. Johnnie R. Jackson

@NikkiHaley: Back @UN Envoy @OSESGY Plan to Save Yemen from FamineUN Special Envoy for Yemen Ismail Ould Cheikh Ahmed has announced a plan to remove the governorate of Hodeida from the Yemeni civil war. The plan includes a ceasefire for the port, including the halt of any attacks on the port by Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates [UAE]. [1] The UN-recognized Yemeni government and Egypt have reportedly announced their support for the plan, but the United States, a key party to the conflict because of its refueling of Saudi and UAE warplanes bombing Yemen [2], has not yet publicly stated its support. As Democratic Sen. Chris Murphy has said, "The Saudis simply could not operate this bombing campaign without us. Their planes can't fly without US refueling capacity." [3] Urge Nikki Haley, US Ambassador to the UN, to publicly state US support for the UN Envoy's plan to save Hodeida and Yemen from famine by signing our petition. Maintain Tanya Harper as Supervisor of Special ServicesThis petition seeks to end Clayton School District's history of demoting and or dismissing key employees, especially, African Americans, without just cause. In this case, as parents' overwhelming testimony support, Mrs. Harper is too important as Supervisor of Special Needs than to demote her to a role of chiefly enforcing discipline at Herma Simmons as Asst. End the Republican Stalemate on Health care. Form a Congressional Bi Partisan Congressional Comm...Since its passage in 2010, the Affordable Care Act has been rendered stagnant by serious problems caused by a combination of a stalemate in Congress and by the greed of both the insurance companies and the pharmaceutical industries. The most recent failure of the Republican Party to pass a bill that would have endangered millions of Americans, throwing many out of plans and seriously endangering those who are poor, elderly, and with pre-existing conditions, and by a president who has called for intentionally destroying the Affordable Care Act that would cripple this country's health care system by leaving it in a dangerous limbo. The only way for this to be resolved is to create a bipartisan committee of both the Senate and House of Representatives to seriously consider all alternatives to upgrading the Affordable Care Act. This would include the Single Payer System. Until such a plan can be agreed upon and put into law, Congress should pass a bill protecting the Affordable Care Act by allowing subsidies to continue and for the present system to be fully implemented.37 of 100 SignaturesCreated by Michael Steiner

#DefundHate: Defund the Detention and Deportation Machine! In his 2018 proposed budget, Trump has requested A LOT more money to fund the detention and deportation of immigrants, including: • funds to hire new ICE and Border Patrol agents to terrorize our communities, • more local police to focus on immigration enforcement, • a massive increase in immigrant detention—the equivalent of locking up the entire population of New Orleans over the course of a year, • $1.6 billion to build a southern border wall, and • further border militarization including aircraft and surveillance technology At the same time, the administration is seeking drastic cuts to vital housing, education, nutrition, and health care programs that help communities grow and thrive together, and is threatening to take away programs like DACA and Temporary Protected Status, which would subject hundreds of thousands more people to deportation. Congress is taking action on this budget right now. The bill in the House of Representatives gives Trump almost all of what he asked for, even though ICE and CBP have put the detention and deportation machine on steroids, regularly lie, hide information from the American public, and retaliate against anyone who speaks out. Join us in demanding your Representative and Senators #DefundHate by publicly calling for significant cuts to the detention and deportation machine, and voting NO on any bill which wastes any money on this unaccountable and abusive system.1,368 of 2,000 SignaturesCreated by Mary Small

Jared Kushner's national security clearance must be revoked immediately!Reporting by The New York Times this month has revealed further details about the circumstances in which Jared Kushner was provided Top-Secret security clearance despite major flags from intelligence officials. Trump demanded that Jared get security clearance, even though there is no clear reason as to why his son-in-law needed it. We already knew that Jared Kushner failed to disclose a meeting in which he attempted to set up a secret communications channel with Russia and did not disclose his many financial conflicts of interest. Jared Kushner has extensive business ties with many foreign governments and contacts, including Israel, United Arab Emirates, and Russia. For this reason, the CIA and FBI flagged and held up his security clearance. His father-in-law, Trump, however, demanded that it be provided, regardless of these flags. As such, John Kelly and Don McGahn wrote out memos stating that they were forced to provide such clearance to the president's son-in-law, making it clear that they did not ultimately agree with Trump's decision. Kushner has a clear conflict of interest and should not be given access to top-security information, simply because his father-in-law is the president. His security clearance should be removed immediately.22,857 of 25,000 SignaturesCreated by Elizabeth Miller
