After the hiring of Hugh Hewitt for a weekend show along with the recent hires of Greta and Megan, Hugh Hewitt's hiring was a "bridge too far" for many of us.

As a American woman married to a Mexican man, and a 18 year old son who is joining National Guard, the immigration uproar shakes me to the core. The type of reform we need is to make it possible for our hard working Hispanic population to have a path to citizenship. The laws in both Mexico and American make it nearly impossible for poor Mexican people to migrate legally. As the granddaughter of a German immigrant who migrated after World War II it pains me to hear the Hispanic population spoken of like Jews during the Holocaust. We can not allow a Holocaust mentality in America such as mass incarceration & deportation of good hard working residents of our state & country. They're your construction workers, your mechanics, your cooks, your lawn care workers, your housekeepers, your nannies, perhaps your neighbors, your friends, your family, your fellow Oklahomans. It hurts me to see the Hispanic population in fear of Trumps agenda. Please do not send the Oklahoma National Guard to carry out such a atrocity. "Humans the only species that pay to live on earth."

A dark cloud hangs over this Administration as Trump himself, and numerous top campaign aides, are being investigated for obstruction of justice and potentially colluding with Russia to interfere in last year’s election. The Senate must not and can not act on a lifetime appointment to the highest court until this investigation is complete. The cases the next Justice will rule on will have wide-ranging impacts on nearly every American and could roll back decades worth of progress on LGBT rights, women’s health and reining in corporate power. Mitch McConnell held open a Supreme Court seat for nearly a year last year out of pure politics. Surely he can hold open this seat until an investigation of this magnitude can be completed. It is long past time for him, and Republicans, to put country before party and do the right thing.

I don't think Congress should be outside the laws and policies they decide on for us citizens. They work for us.

This is an issue of consistency, as noted by Fr. James Martin, S.J. on his Facebook page: If bishops ban members of same-sex marriages from receiving a Catholic funeral, they also have to be consistent... Moreover, they must ban anyone who does not care for the poor, or care for the environment, and anyone who supports torture, for those are church teachings too. More basically, they must ban people who are not loving, not forgiving and not merciful, for these represent the teachings of Jesus Christ, the most fundamental of all church teachings. It's clear that the protection of our democracy and the vote can't be provided by our compromised and colluding president.

Health Care affects us all and I am sick of Congress voting on things that don't affect them. If it did affect them, they might care more about us all and the inequality of health care, and less about politics and insurance companies, making them real Public Servants.

We are all negatively impacted when our government acts in a secretive manner, and we all benefit when our government acts in a transparent and open manner, allowing for a healthy debate of today's most pressing issues.

The FCC wants to destroy net neutrality and give big cable companies control over what we see and do online. If they get their way, they'll allow widespread throttling, blocking, censorship, and extra fees. On July 12, the Internet will come together to stop them. More than 100 tech companies, major websites, and notable organizations have joined. The one thing all of them agree on: defending Title II net neutrality. Net neutrality is the basic principle that protects our free speech on the Internet. "Title II" of the Communications Act is what provides the legal foundation for net neutrality and prevents Internet Service Providers like Comcast, Verizon, and AT&T from slowing down and blocking websites, or charging apps and sites extra fees to reach an audience (which they then pass along to consumers.) The Internet has thrived precisely because of net neutrality. It's what makes it so vibrant and innovative—a place for creativity, free expression, and exchange of ideas. Without net neutrality, the Internet will become more like Cable TV, where the content you see is what your provider puts in front of you.
