The Arctic is a unique place inhabited by creatures like polar bears and whales, full of magnificent vistas, and home to people who maintain the traditions of their ancestors. For millennia, it has remained untouched by oil-drilling or industrial fishing. We want to keep it this way. We see the big picture - we do not want short term interests ruining something so special and valuable.

I am tired of seeing mother earth violated .She must be protected at all costs

when you think of the arctic you think of ice, snow, and maybe polar bears. but theres so much more to cold weather and a few polar bears here and there. the arctic has many species of whale, penguins, fish, seals, bears, etc. there are glaciers and some mountain ranges. so far it has been untouched by oil drillings and a majority of the community want to keep it that way!! please sign on to the arctic declaration and keep a global sanctuary. lets work together to stop Shell from drilling in the arctic. its time we, as a human race, think of other things besides ourselves. ((if you were a polar bear seeing giant machines digging and destroying what you call home you would be pretty terrified too))

I am starting this petition because the Arctic is an amazing place, one of the few pristine places left on our planet. It is the home to many great animals and a place with a diverse eco system. What happens if we continue to destroy and deplete places like the Arctic? Future generations will never know its beauty or benefit from it's health and well being.

I have had the privilege of traveling in the Arctic Circle and seeing polar bears in their native habitat, probably no longer possible today. We need to protect the Arctic for future generations.

I feel strongly that mankind has used & destroyed enough of the world!! Everything humans touch gets destroyed & this has ruined the planet for the future!! Oil Spills all around the world are proof that we will continue to use what isn't ours because we've been doing this since we arrived!!! We are not the only creatures on earth & we need to be stopped!!!

Multinational corporations are chomping at the bit to be the first to exploit this amazing area. That's why I'm asking you to do something a little different for the Arctic. We’re calling for the northernmost, uninhabited areas of the Arctic to be permanently protected as a global sanctuary.
