• Transforming Flagstaff's City Yard into an Environmental Education Center for Sustainable Practices
This is our neighborhood. We are greatly impacted by the constant traffic of heavy equipment. It's noisy, stinky, and often very fast though this family neighborhood. The City Yard facilities are run-down and outdated, and a bond to move the City Yard has already been approved by the voters. We would just like to see it replaced with something amazing rather than high-density tract housing.

  • Lights Out!
There is an excessive and unnecessary waste of energy, materials for electrical systems, and money by leaving unoccupied buildings illuminated at night. "Lights Out" would lead to a major reduction in greenhouse gasses and massive savings in operating expenditures. Much like we are renovating older governmental facilities to be more energy efficient through advanced HVAC systems and insulation, this would have an immediate impact with no cost, just savings.

I deeply care about biodiversity, along with many other Americans. The short-minded use of palm oil is contributing to the extinction of many species and habitats. The maps that show the historic range of the rainforest, compared to today, serve as a huge visual cry for help.

  • Tell ConAgra Foods to Protect Rainforests, Orangutans and People: Cut Conflict Palm Oil!
If we care about our kid’s future, we can no longer buy products that harm our planet. ConAgra Foods, one of the biggest companies in Omaha, NE and the owner of famous brands like Marie Callender’s and Chef Boyardee, uses Conflict Palm Oil in its products. Much of that palm oil drives mass deforestation in Indonesia. ConAgra could easily help protect people and rainforests if it adopted a policy to buy responsible palm oil instead of Conflict Palm Oil. The damage caused by Conflict Palm Oil is tremendous. Deforestation to make way for palm oil plantations threatens unique and priceless ecosystems. It threatens species like the Sumatran tiger and orangutans. The impact on communities who are forced off their land or pushed into forced and child labor is simply unacceptable. The destruction of forests is also releasing carbon into the atmosphere and driving climate change. Other companies are already dropping Conflict Palm Oil from their products. It’s time ConAgra Foods did the same. Would you help us put some pressure on ConAgra Foods by signing this petition? We’ll make sure it’s a message they can’t ignore.

  • Tell PepsiCo to Protect Rainforests, Orangutans and People: Cut Conflict Palm Oil!
If we care about our kid’s future, we can no longer buy products that harm our planet. That’s why I’m ashamed to say that my neighbor PepsiCo, one of the biggest companies in Westchester, NY, is also one of the biggest buyers of palm oil in the world. Much of that palm oil drives mass deforestation in Indonesia. PepsiCo could easily help protect people and rainforests if it adopted a policy to buy responsible palm oil instead of Conflict Palm Oil. The damage caused by Conflict Palm Oil is tremendous. Deforestation to make way for palm oil plantations threatens unique and priceless ecosystems. The destruction of forests is also releasing carbon into the atmosphere and driving climate change. Other companies are already dropping Conflict Palm Oil from their products. It’s time PepsiCo did the same. Would you help me put some local pressure on PepsiCo by signing this petition? As a neighbor, I’ll make sure it’s a message they can’t ignore.

  • SAVE NORTH AMERICA'S ONLY CORAL REEF...CABO PULMO!
This petition is about saving God's treasures on this Earth. I have been there and I dove into this bay and can testify how beautiful all of this reef can be, with the schools of colorful juveniles and huge schools of jacks, grunts and barracuda. Proposed development will only destroy the reason people will want to go there: to enjoy the pristine beauty unique to the Sea of Cortez.

  • Save Bees from a Highly Toxic Pesticide
Bee populations are plummeting! Yet the Environmental Protection Agency recently sided with Dow AgroSciences to approve a new, highly toxic bee-killing pesticide called sulfoxaflor. And now the EPA is considering expanding the number of crops this pesticide can be sprayed on to include corn, alfalfa, oats, and several other significant and widely grown crops. Will you help us fight back? Tell the EPA to deny Dow AgroScience’s application to expand the registration of the bee-killing pesticide sulfoxaflor now. Nearly one-third of our crops—including many vegetables, fruits, nuts, and seeds—depend on bees for pollination. But bees in our country are dying at unprecedented rates, and scientists are pointing to pesticides like sulfoxaflor as a cause. A world without bees is unimaginable. Earthjustice is doing everything we can to fight back, using the law and the power of the courts. But we need your help to stop this latest proposal. Help us ensure that sulfoxaflor does not become the final straw for bees. Take action now to save bees!

  • USDA: Support Meatless Monday in schools
Public institutions, health-environmental NGOs, and Sir Paul McCartney enthusiastically support Meatless Monday's as an accessible step schools and institutions can take to make a difference. Given the drought in CA and rush to inject fracking waste fluid, this is a time to consider the importance of water conservation and make an effort to protect aquatic life from Factory Farm manure pollution and runoff from fertilizers/agri-chemicals used on feed crops. President Obama is clear that climate change is serious, Meatless Monday menus are a tasty way to diversify our diets and can give USA credibility Internationally that we care about emissions reductions (while reducing foodborne illnesses, chronic disease linked to too much meat consumption, and so much more!). Personally, I was not exposed to vegetarian meals growing up. When i started trying plant protein sources in 2000, I realized I liked them all and welcomed the dietary diversity in my life! I feel great enjoying vegan food now. It's an easier step than it would be for me to go car-free to save energy.

  • WARNING! Overhead Spraying of Toxic Chemicals In Vermont
To all Vermont Representatives: Please address the most pervasive environmental issue of our times; an aggressive global geoengineering/weather modification program which has been showering toxic health endangering chemicals into our air, water and soil via specialized aircraft and modified existing aircraft. This is nothing less than genocide on a massive scale! If this issue is not addressed then the natural environment of this planet and its people are not being served. As our representatives in the state of Vermont, it is your duty to acknowledge this dire issue in the interest of your constituents and all US citizens. There is not one individual or family untouched by this daily aerosol spraying program. Many are already sick and many have died as a direct result. We are all being saturated with aluminum coated fiberglass particles, barium, strontium, and other harmful “experimental” substances. The most immediate effects are respiratory complications, blurred vision, clogged sinuses, headaches, fatigue, cardiac complications, gastrointestinal problems and short term memory loss. The incidence of cancers, allergies, autism, asthma reproductive disorders and Alzheimer are at an all time high and are associated with the heavy metals, biological and radioactive elements being taken up by the soil water, our livestock, crops and ourselves. This will be damaging to our healthcare system, farming, Vermont products and tourism. PLEASE STOP THIS PROGRAM IN OUR STATE!
