Why would we engage in nuclear warfare? Have we not crippled our environment enough? Haven't enough people died in the last two wars? Lets promise our generation and future generations a home here on planet Earth. Take a stand against nuclear warfare today so humanity can be promised tomorrow.

Action the President can take to make his vision of peace in the Middle East, and a viable Palestinian state a reality. The petition specifically calls for new directions for President Obama to give the US Ambassador to the UN.

Senate Resolution 65, which currently has 74 co-sponsors, calls for the United States to join a so-called preventive Israeli attack on Iran.

Of the 4700 killed in US drone strikes over the last ten years, we knew the names of only 160, ten of whom were wanted leaders. That leaves us with 4540 men, women and children killed with remotely-fired missiles (costing $68,000 each) on the basis of their patterns of movement--often in countries like Somalia and Yemen, where we are not officially at war. Drone pilots like Brandon Bryant can attest we often hit innocents, like the child he killed on his first strike. This practice is so extra-legal (not to say illegal) that President Obama has to personally sign off on each strike. Would we ever let another country do this on our soil? If we stand for the rule of law and fair trial, if we are trying to create a safer world, if we want to end rather than aid the radicalization of people in other countries, we have to lead by example--and that means saying 4540 is enough. End Colorado congressional and executive support for extra-legal drone assassinations.

Our short-sighted focus on profit has compromised the quality of life here in California and elsewhere. As long as we have job-less and home-less people, we should be spending our manufacturing dollars here.

There is a medal that is in the works to be awarded to drone pilots. Although I honor their service, this medal would be ranked ninth and above the Purple Heart. This is wrong and a slap in the face to all combat veterans.

The Trans Pacific Plan or TPP grants too much, and previously unheard of, powers to international corporations over national and even state governments. If passed, the TPP would bring about a new world order where corporations formally and officially had final governing power over most nations in the world.

We remember Bosnia, Cambodia, Rwanda. Enough! Stop the killing, maiming, and torture of children in Syria. The government of the United Arab Emirates (UAE) is currently prosecuting nearly 100 individuals, including human-rights lawyers, judges, teachers, and student activists, in Abu Dhabi for allegedly attempting to overthrow the government of the UAE. We the undersigned are faculty, staff, students, and alumni of New York University (NYU) who take a special interest in the rights of free speech, intellectual freedom, and political dissent in the UAE because of the presence of an NYU branch campus in that country (NYU Abu Dhabi).

My petition is about saving as many lives as possible by removing them from a hopeless situation in which they should not have been and leaving the Afghans to solve their own problems. We have more than enough of our own problems and some of our citizens now in Afghanistan can be put to work here in helping to solve them. We should stop trying to be the policeman of the world or trying to bring democracy to hopeless situations. We are able to defend ourselves and of providing for a safer society on our own territory,

Afghan elected leaders do not want foreign troops in their country. US taxpayers do not want the occupation and cannot afford it. US should withdraw its troops and drones. Taliban will make some gains, but not succeed in defeating the Afghan government. US will not be responsible for Afghan affairs any longer. Currently our presence sets back the causes of democracy, peace, and reconciliation.

All budget moneys must be addresed for reduction. If the American people must cut back at home, so should our aid recepicants.
