Election reformThis proposal would most effectively get special interests out of our government. Our elected officials are there to serve the common good of this country, not just the wealthy and powerfull. It would also make it possible for any citizen to run for public office based on good ideas and not on their ability to get financing.30 of 100 SignaturesCreated by Robert Lewis Keys

Rep. Roskam: Don't Cut Meals for KidsThis holiday season, 2 million people in Illinois, including 886,000 children, will have less to eat because of recent cuts to the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (food stamps). Now, some in Congress want to cut another $40 billion from an effective anti-hunger program that helps families put food on the table. We need to act quickly so that Rep. Roskam understands that taking food from kids and other vulnerable populations is just wrong.455 of 500 SignaturesCreated by Ryan Canney, Illinois Fair Share

Ban all political TV commercialsBanning commercials is a step to removing money as a factor to political power. US campaigns should be funded solely by the public and restricted to a series of debates which are fact checked before being presented to the public. The status of a fact should be immediately apparent as the debate is watched.22 of 100 SignaturesCreated by Nikki Limper

Thanks for reforming the filibuster, Senators Feinstein and Boxer! @SenFeinstein @SenatorBoxerGreat news! Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid and his colleagues just eliminated the filibuster for most presidential nominations! This reform is crucial for a functioning government because a minority in the Senate was using the filibuster to obstruct every recent qualified judicial nominee -- with no end in sight. The New York Times called this reform "the most fundamental shift in the way the Senate functions in more than a generation." With this rule change, nominees for federal judges and executive-office appointments can now be confirmed with simple majority votes. This will really help dissolve the logjam in the courts from vacancies caused by the unprecedented number of filibusters. This change will also prevent outrages like the recent filibusters that prevented the Federal Elections Commission from enforcing basic election rules, and that threatened to block the Federal Communications Commission nominee unless he promised not to require disclosure on political ads. Nearly 6,000 Californians like you signed petitions to Senators Feinstein and Boxer urging them to pass filibuster reform – and they ended up providing the two critical votes. Please sign and share this petition to thank them!3,788 of 4,000 SignaturesCreated by Trent Lange, President of the California Clean Money Campaign

Random Drug Test Elected OfficialsFor me, FL Rep Trey Radel is the last straw. I'm a citizen of the United States and I'm tired of seeing elected officials like Radel sit around making laws while under the influence. I propose we demand random drug and breathalyzer (split) testing on each and every elected official, from Animal Control to POTUS. Random drug test them all. It'll create jobs, too! Please sign and forward. Thank you.57 of 100 SignaturesCreated by Lisa Stoutmoose

Tell Harry Reid: It’s time to “go nuclear” on judicial nominationsRepublicans are refusing to allow any of President Obama’s extremely well-qualified nominees for the D.C. Circuit court—the second most important court in the land—to get a vote. In 2005, at a similar crisis point, senators from both parties agreed that they would only filibuster a judicial nominee under "extraordinary circumstances." However, despite the fact that many of the Republicans who were central to that agreement are still in office, now they are ignoring it. These same Republicans are refusing to allow a vote on anyone President Obama nominates for the court, and not because of "extraordinary circumstances." Instead, they are pushing to eliminate the vacant seats on this court altogether because they don’t want anyone Obama nominates to serve. Senate Republicans are not acting in good faith. Please sign our petition urging Senate Majority Leader Reid to exercise the nuclear option and end the filibuster on judicial nominees.2 of 100 SignaturesCreated by Paul Hogarth

MARCH ON CONGRESSI'm Just Mad As Hell. Tired of Congress' disrespect and disregard of the voters and the office of the President of the U.S. The Tea Party Congress would be pleased if we reverted to the old Jim Crow Laws. Why are they so against abortions? Because White Women have a lower birth rate. They are no longer the majority. Why are they so against the IRS? Because the IRS is scheduled to hire more workers to handle Obama Care. ACA is Obama's Katrina. Not even close. I'm tired of the News Media not correcting the Fox news and Republican lies. Media turned against the President when the government went after the person who leeked information to the press. If no one else noticed these things I have and more.2 of 100 SignaturesCreated by Sharon Harris

Governor Kitzhaber: End Secret Money in Salem$665 million. That’s how much Oregon taxpayers will fork over in the next two years for corporate tax subsidies intended for economic development. And what are we getting in return? Jobs? More revenue? Investments in communities? We don’t know because state officials won’t tell us. With the stroke of a pen, Governor Kitzhaber could bring Oregonians the transparency they deserve. Powerful interests want to keep these deals a secret, but we can get the Governor to act if we keep up the pressure. That’s why he needs to hear from you.3,497 of 4,000 SignaturesCreated by David Rosenfeld, OSPIRG

Sens. Mark Udall, Michael Bennet: support Senate rules reformEveryone who cares about functioning government should support rules reform for judicial confirmations. No other President has seen such fierce opposition to D.C. Circuit judicial nominees. If Republicans are determined to break the system, we need new rules to prevent that.413 of 500 SignaturesCreated by Alan Franklin

End the Gridlock and Confirm President Obama's NomineesIt's time to put an end to Republicans' unprecedented obstruction of President Obama's executive and judicial nominees. Through a simple majority vote, the Senate could change the rules and make sure that people in America have a government that works. Right now, dozens of judicial nominations are tied up in the Senate. Many other presidential nominations, including ambassadors, commission members and department leaders are also being denied an up or down vote. (You can see the entire list here: http://www.senate.gov/pagelayout/legislative/one_item_and_teasers/nom_cmtec.htm) Tell the Senate to change the rules of the Senate and create a government that will truly work for the people.5,193 of 6,000 SignaturesCreated by Michael Morrill
