Insurance Company Denies Long Term Disability to Employee with Fatal DiseaseI was diagnosed with a fatal and incurable disease in 2006. I pushed myself until October 2013. I had to fight to get all of my Short Term Disability. I have been banned from driving, I have crippling arthritis, I am connected to Phillips Lifeline because I have trouble walking and much more. I am due LTD pay back to April 29, 2014 and I have exhausted all financial outlets. If my employer and the organization I am contracted to can spend millions to fight Ebola ~ it's time for them to STEP UP TO THE PLATE and pay me the 60% of my measly salary until my Social Security Disability is approved!13 of 100 SignaturesCreated by Tammy A. Healthcare for Millions of Kids at Risk"Sorry kids, no health care for you because Congress is busy not doing anything. Good luck!" Unless we pressure Congress to act, this will be the reality for families working hard to make ends meet. Millions of children risk losing access to healthcare coverage next year if Congress fails to extend funding for the Children’s Health Insurance Program (CHIP). CHIP covers millions and it's helped decrease the number of uninsured children by half since it passed with bipartisan support in 1997. Families have enough to worry about. The health security of their kids shouldn't be one of them. Tell Congress to do the right thing and extend funding for CHIP immediately.25,613 of 30,000 SignaturesCreated by Camden Lee

Let Veterans Decide On VA Medical CareEvery veteran has a horror story (or several) about delayed care, bad care and abuses by VA staff. In light of the recent scandals and the number of veteran suicides it is clear the VA is outmoded and less than helpful. Do you remember the Vietnam Era Agent Orange denials? How about the Gulf War Syndrome denials? I have been waiting over a year for a replacement knee and had to write my Senator (Debbie Stabenow) for help. Finally after a year and a half, I will get a civilian surgeon and get care that is long overdue. If you are a veteran, or know a veteran, you will be familiar with the mistreatment of us by the VA. Please help Veterans get the care they deserve by signing this petition. Thank you15 of 100 SignaturesCreated by Robb Nortier

Gift of LifeI would like to ask that in the event a person locates a living donor, they are able to confidently accept the gift of life no matter their economic status or savings. Let this not be a three year sliver of happiness. Let this be a lifetime of happiness. The cost of dialysis per month surpasses the cost of anti-rejection medications which lose coverage after three years. Please join me in the defense of the gift of life. God bless you sir. I believe in you.59 of 100 SignaturesCreated by melissa franklin

Require Hospitals to Educate Parents about SIDSMy 4-month old granddaughter, Harvey Nicole King, laid down to take a nap and never woke up. She was a seemingly perfectly healthy baby. This is a devastating loss. Every hour of every day another baby dies. We must do something to save these precious lives. We want to ensure hospitals provide more information about SIDS to parents of preemies who are often of low-weight at birth. We want to encourage everyone to read about up-to-date crib death prevention measures and follow the safety precautions!128 of 200 SignaturesCreated by Jerima King

Keep the DEA out of PCP Doctor's Protocol for New PatientsSince the DEA got involved in healthcare, I was "fired" from my PCP because they no longer wanted to treat me, pain or no pain. A group of doctors in my town of Grand Junction, CO., had been arrested for abusing the prescribing protocols, and they were a cash-only enterprise. Since that happened, no doctor in town will touch a chronic pain patient with a 10-foot pole. I have not been able to re-establish another PCP for going on 2 years now... to say nothing of getting proper treatment for my health issues. I have been told to "apply" online for new doctors, but I get denied because I have been treated for pain in the past--it doesn't even have to be going on presently. Just recently, I had to go to the hospital twice for a severe kidney infection because my complaint and symptoms were rushed by the emergency staff the first time around and sent home. The chronic pain I have stems from a violent attack I sustained in 2008, where I was hurled down 2nd floor-high metal steps, and then raped and left for dead. I did not ask for this pain that has changed my life forever, nor am I a junkie. I just need a physician that gives a damn and will treat me with dignity and without prejudice. Please sign the petition asking congress to amend the DEA control over who doctors can admit as patients so that ALL can be treated fairly.37 of 100 SignaturesCreated by Christina Stickler
