• Let's put an end to bullying together.
Since I've started high school, there have been three suicides. The most recent one just days ago. All of these have been caused by bullying. Our school says that bullying is bad but they haven't taken any action to help end it. If we had a bullying hotline, we could help others so much. A lot of us see bullying everyday and do nothing about it because we're so scared of being bullied. Most of us have personally been bullied. It's a scary thing to go through and it needs to stop. Suicide is the third leading cause of death for teens. With a bullying hotline, that many other schools use, people who are bullied can call or even text a number and would get help. People who see bullying can do the same. This way, there is less fear. The sad thing is, is that the school was offered this program and rejected it. If you want this hotline that could help save the lives of students in our school, please share and sign this petition. Thank you.

  • Kitchen/Lounge for West lodge and Sigma
Living in Sigma/West has its benefits, an own bathroom, a bigger room and space. But when it comes to dorm meetings and birthdays of friends we face the drawbacks. No lounge to meet in, no kitchen to bake the cake in. We too have the right for a "place to hang out" in!

  • Citizens For The Core
As concerned citizens of and visitors to San Juan Island and Friday Harbor, we believe that placing the new Customs and Border Patrol offices with additional space and facilities required under the Dept. of Homeland Security in the downtown core would be a serious mistake. While we recognize the role of CBP in the continued safety of our island and country , we believe the corner of First and Spring St., the heart of Friday Harbor's downtown, is an inappropriate location for a government security facility. We are disappointed by the lack of transparency and public input into a decision which will affect the way our tax dollars are spent and alter the face of this small community through the coming decade. We want this move halted until a satisfactory impact study is provided and the public is engaged in the decision making process. This petition is intended to create additional support for this cause when presenting the issue at the upcoming community forum Mon. Nov. 25 , 2013 in Friday Harbor Wa. It is meant to encourage the online support of those who cannot attend and all who are in favor of taking these concerns to a higher level and being heard.

  • Military Freedom
I, Rikki Renee', am starting this petition because I do not believe that our deployed soldiers should have to pay for their internet, phone calls, etc. All cell phone services should work overseas that way our soldiers can use their personal phones while they're not working. They should get free wi-fi to be able to communicate with families back home and keep in touch with everyone. If our soldiers can put their lives on the line and leave their families for extended periods of time to protect our freedoms, such as wi-fi and cell phones (etc), they should get it for free. They were brave enough to step up, so all these internet and cell phone companies need to work with them. As for our congress and such, they need to make it possible for our soldiers to get the best possible treatment available while overseas. Such as 3 good meals a day, a set work schedule, the best benefits, the best care providers, first class plane tickets home, etc. They should not be hurting for anything!! And anyone with a loved one in the service knows how I feel. My husband just left me and 2 kids both under the age of 3, to serve our country and he is having to pay $90.00 a month for wi-fi, we have to get his phone suspended because it will not work over there, and their plans and missions for overseas are STILL not set in stone. Please sign this petition and lets get something done!

  • Boycott the Outdoor channel for animal cruelty
The outdoor channel promotes animal cruelty, and promote the criminal Melissa Bachman show, whom goes on hunting endangered species and beautiful wild animals for the sole purpose of showing off. This petition is open to all governments world wide to ban Melissa Bachmann and any hunter to obtain visas. Also we urge the readers to boycott the Outdoor channel as it promotes animal cruelty, the humans from next generations deserve to have beautiful wild animals, and these bastards are obsessed with hunting them even when wild animals numbers are dwindling fast , it is a crime against all of us, and it must be stopped

  • GMO Labeling: Good for Texans
The risks of consuming food containing genetically modified organisms (GMOs) are still mostly unknown, but large food corporations have actively lobbied against labeling food containing GMOs. Texans should be given a choice about whether or not to purchase genetically modified food, so I support labeling all food that contains GMOs.

  • Oregon GMO Labeling Ballot Initiative
I co-own Jem Raw Organics, an organic food manufacturing company in Bend, Oregon, and I believe consumers have the right to know whether the foods they purchase were produced with genetic engineering. I am not saying we should ban them yet, but we should have the basic right to know what we put in our bodies!
