• Justice for the Baristas of Davis!
Now Starbucks is planning to open a new location at 4525 Fermi Place, as if nothing ever happened. But here’s the thing; Starbucks representatives LIED in the public hearing where the permit for the location was approved. At the meeting, on May 28, of the Davis City Council’s Planning Commission, company representatives stated unequivocally that “Starbucks does not intend to close any stores” in Davis. Starbucks thinks that it can get away with lying in public hearings and busting unions, but we can hold them accountable.  We demand that the Davis City Council reconsider the aforementioned permits, and hold an additional public hearing on the matter. Davis City Council should consider a moratorium on all future Starbucks locations until the company reaches a collective bargaining agreement with SBWU. At the minimum, Starbucks should offer to rehire all laid off workers in Davis affected by this round of layoffs, at a pay rate that includes any raises that they would have missed. Davis has a chance to take a stand against corporate abuse, stand up for workers, and preserve the community that makes Davis a special place to live, study, and work.

  • No Trump Ballroom!
The ballroom is just another in a long line of Trump’s attempts to continue his authoritarian power grabs in D.C., like his plans to build the so-called "Arc de Trump" along the Potomac River. And his proposal to pay for them with private donations from his supporters raises serious ethical concerns.  While gas prices are soaring and working families are struggling to pay for medical costs, groceries, and rent, Trump and his cronies are focused on king-making.  We don’t need a 90,000-square-foot ballroom at the White House—we need Congress focused on improving the lives of working families. • No Meta Glasses in Bars/Restaurants NYC
I am sure y’all are all too familiar with the fact that working at bars or restaurants is already incredibly abusive and invasive. From regulars who don’t respect your boundaries, employers who don’t care if you have boundaries, to much more sinister acts like being harassed and stalked (and even worse) for the mere act of showing up and doing your job. Meta Glasses add a whole new dimension to this invasion of our workspaces and our privacy. Where people can record your every move, record public bathrooms, private conversations, all of this without having to disclose if they are recording or not. I think these glasses should be banned from all bars and restaurants in NYC for the safety of all service employees. Please do something about this creeping technology and help us protect our city.

  • Stop the retaliation and censorship NOW!
Eight Disney-owned ABC affiliates will have to prove to FCC Chairman Brendan Carr that they have been operating in the public interest. They have 30 days to file their licenses—with May 28 the deadline. Disney has responded that they will comply with the request, noting that they are confident that they have acted in accordance with “the Communications Act and the First Amendment.” It is an egregious display of overreach for the FCC to review ABC station licenses because they are not cowering to Trump’s demands. Our government should not be in the business of telling the American people what to think, what to laugh at, what to say, and what to criticize. But that’s exactly what they are doing.  This is a continuation of the FCC’s threats against ABC and Disney last year after Kimmel came under similar fire from Trump following his on-air criticism of Republicans and MAGA figures exploiting Charlie Kirk’s murder.  Back in September, Chairman of the FCC Brendan Carr warned he had a strong case for taking action against Kimmel and insinuated that Disney’s license was on the line. Public outrage pressured ABC and Disney to reinstate Kimmel’s show—and now the FCC is punishing them.  Together we can demonstrate that the American people OPPOSE government-sanctioned censorship, and that we’re ready to defend our First Amendment rights. • No Presidential Pardon for Ghislaine Maxwell
Ghislaine Maxwell is the only person convicted in connection with Jeffrey Epstein's decades-long child sex trafficking network. She was found guilty on five federal counts, sentenced to 20 years in prison, and has exhausted every legal appeal available to her — including the U.S. Supreme Court. She is exactly where the law said she should be. Yet right now, the Trump administration is entertaining the idea of setting her free. House Oversight Committee Chairman James Comer has acknowledged his committee is divided on whether to support a pardon in exchange for Maxwell's testimony in the Epstein investigation — the same investigation his committee is supposed to be conducting. Maxwell's own attorney has publicly stated there is a "good chance" of a presidential pardon. The White House has declined to rule it out. This is not a close call. It is not a matter of debate. Here is why a Maxwell pardon would be a profound betrayal of justice: The testimony-for-pardon deal is a corrupt bargain Maxwell was subpoenaed to testify before the House Oversight Committee. In February 2026, she appeared — and invoked the Fifth Amendment, refusing to answer every substantive question. She has shown no cooperation and no remorse. Rewarding that refusal with a presidential pardon would set a catastrophic precedent: that you can traffic children and walk free by dangling the promise of future cooperation you have already withheld. Even Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene warned that if pardoned, Maxwell "will owe Trump and she will lie to protect people he asks her to." The Epstein files connect directly to the man considering this pardon Rep. Jamie Raskin has revealed that Trump's name appears more than one million times in the unredacted Epstein files — and that Trump's DOJ redacted 96% of those references from the public release. A federal civil jury already found Trump liable for sexual battery. The FBI interviewed a woman who accused Trump of child sexual abuse four separate times — and the DOJ secretly withheld those files from public databases. A Maxwell pardon would permanently silence the one person still alive who was at the center of Epstein's operation and could testify about what she witnessed. Survivors are watching — and asking for accountability Annie Farmer, one of Maxwell and Epstein's own victims and a witness at Maxwell's trial, put it plainly: "Could you live with knowing that you've chosen to put a felon — who recruited, groomed, and threatened underage girls and young women — above survivors?" Comer himself called Maxwell "honestly, other than Epstein, the worst person in this whole investigation." You cannot call someone the worst person in a child sex trafficking investigation and then support setting them free. The opposition is bipartisan — and growing Rep. Anna Paulina Luna (R-FL) has stated "the votes aren't there" for a pardon. Rep. Robert Garcia called it "outrageous." Rep. Ro Khanna called it a "betrayal of the survivors." Rep. Krishnamoorthi wrote directly to the DOJ demanding they "publicly and repeatedly refuse" to engage with any pardon request. Reuters reported that the committee's internal divisions make a pardon deal increasingly unlikely — but only if public pressure continues. That is where you come in. Sign this petition. Share it. Contact your representatives. The survivors have been fighting for decades. The least we can do is fight alongside them. No pardon for Ghislaine Maxwell. Not now. Not ever.

  • Doula Training to Reduce Maternal Mortality Among African American Women in Georgia
People should join this campaign because it addresses a life-or-death public health crisis that is both preventable and deeply rooted in inequity. In Georgia, African American women are significantly more likely to die from pregnancy-related causes than any other group, and data from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention shows that most of these deaths could be prevented with timely, appropriate care. Supporting this campaign means taking a stand for evidence-based solutions that can directly save lives. This effort is not abstract—it focuses on a clear, proven intervention. Doula support has been shown to improve birth outcomes, reduce complications, and ensure that patients are heard within healthcare settings. By advocating for a statewide doula training program through the Georgia Department of Public Health and the Georgia Board of Public Health, this campaign pushes for a solution that is both practical and backed by research. Joining the campaign means supporting a strategy that works. There is also a strong equity component. The Georgia Maternal Mortality Review Committee has found that a majority of maternal deaths in the state are preventable, and many are tied to systemic issues like bias, lack of access, and gaps in communication. This campaign directly addresses those barriers by promoting culturally competent care and community-based support. Participation signals a commitment to reducing racial disparities and improving outcomes for marginalized communities. Beyond the moral imperative, there is a broader community impact. Healthier mothers mean stronger families, more stable communities, and reduced long-term healthcare costs. When maternal health improves, infant outcomes improve as well, creating generational benefits. Supporting this campaign is an investment in the well-being of entire communities across Georgia. Finally, joining this campaign gives individuals a way to turn concern into action. Many people are aware of health disparities but feel unsure how to make a difference. This initiative offers a concrete path: advocate, raise awareness, and push for policy change that can have measurable, lasting impact. It transforms awareness into collective action. In short, people should join this campaign because it is urgent, evidence-based, equity-focused, and capable of creating real change.

  • No War on Cuba! Pass a war powers resolution and end the humanitarian crisis.
The people of Cuba have been pushed to the brink of collapse amidst an illegal U.S. oil embargo that has caused mass suffering — energy blackouts, food shortages, and water scarcity. The humanitarian crisis stands to get even worse as Trump warns that “Cuba is next.” His threats to “take” Cuba and push its president out of power echo the violent, regime-change campaigns we’ve seen his administration carry out in Venezuela and Iran this year. And reports are emerging that he’s ordered the Pentagon to draw up war plans for the island nation. This illegal campaign of collective punishment against the population of Cuba is only hurting the people that Trump and Secretary of State Marco Rubio claim to help, and any act of war will only deepen the suffering. It’s not too late to stop this crisis and prevent more war. Congress can pass a war powers resolution to block strikes before they begin, AND usher in a new era of diplomacy by ending U.S. embargos on Cuba, turning the page on six decades of a failed strategy that has delivered nothing but pain and suffering to the Cuban people. A different path is possible, but only if we advocate for it, which is why we need you to speak out today.

  • Tell Congress: Pass Articles of Impeachment to Remove Pete Hegseth!
Shocking reporting suggests Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth tried to invest MILLIONS in weapons stocks during the buildup to the war with Iran — which he’s helped facilitate. If true, it means the Defense Secretary attempted to personally profit off an illegal, horrific war that has killed thousands, including hundreds of children. This is more than just disturbing; it’s outright disqualifying. The longer Hegseth stays, the longer the list of his offenses: Purging Black and women officers at the Pentagon, failing to keep critical information secure, calling for U.S. troops to commit potential war crimes, and ordering multiple instances of unauthorized use of force from Iran to the Pacific. And these reckless, dangerous actions are merely the tip of the iceberg. Fortunately, Rep. Yassamin Ansari just introduced seven articles of impeachment against Hegseth, providing us a path to push him out and clear the way for new leadership at the Pentagon. We’ve just seen how public pressure can drive accountability, with Pam Bondi and Kristi Noem recently forced from their posts. Now, let’s ramp up the pressure to make sure SecDef Hegseth is next.

  • Stop HB5511: Don’t Make Apple, Google and Microsoft Control Our Internet Access
THE HIDDEN RISKS OF HB5511 (The “Safety Paradox”) Lawmakers are presenting HB5511 as a way to protect children from the harmful parts of the internet. But by moving age verification into your phone’s software and app stores, this bill creates a dangerous paradox: The “safety” system itself may put your family at risk. 1. Why this is a major change for your family Right now, you access the internet directly. Under HB5511, your phone or computer becomes a digital checkpoint. Companies like Apple, Google, and Microsoft become the gatekeepers. Access to apps and some websites would increasingly depend on your device confirming your age. If the system fails, or if a website can’t support it, access may be restricted or blocked. 2. Your identity becomes a target This system depends on tying age verification to your device or account. That could involve sharing sensitive information such as government ID, financial data, or other personal details. That creates new risks: ● Identity Theft Concentrating sensitive data across large platforms increases the potential impact of breaches and leaks. ● Sophisticated Scams As identity checks become more common, it becomes easier for criminals to imitate them and trick people into handing over personal information. 3. How this could put children at risk This system is meant to protect children, but it may also expose them to new risks. ● More data about children Children may need accounts tied to their age, creating larger digital footprints earlier in life. ● Connected systems When devices, accounts, and users are linked, it creates the potential to connect activity across home devices, school-issued laptops, and shared computers. ● Not fully effective At the same time, experience shows that age checks are often bypassed—meaning more data is collected without fully solving the problem. 4. The shift away from an open internet The internet today is open by default. Under this model, access increasingly depends on verification through corporate-controlled systems. That is a fundamental shift. From open access → to permission-based access. And once built into devices and law, it becomes very difficult to reverse. ⚠️ URGENCY: WHY THIS MATTERS NOW Current Status: HB5511 has passed the Illinois House and is now moving to the Illinois Senate for consideration. This is the moment when changes can still be made. Once systems like this are written into law and built into technology, they are extremely difficult to undo. If the device-level requirements are not addressed now, they may become permanent.

  • Drop lawsuit against the Southern Poverty Law Center and stop politically motivated attacks
The Southern Poverty Law Center has existed for more than 50 years, founded as a legal advocacy organization in Alabama during the Civil Rights Movement. They have been organizing against the Klan and white supremacist groups and working to advance the liberation of Black and Brown people ever since.  Their work has literally saved lives. But the SPLC came under fire by right-wing conservatives and the Trump administration after Charlie Kirk’s assassination due to their criticism of his organization, Turning Point USA, and its inclusion in their report “The Year in Hate and Extremism 2024.” The report detailed the organization's role in electing Trump and far-right candidates, informing Project 2025, and culturally shaping the authoritarian landscape that currently exists. Shortly after, in response to far-right backlash, the Federal Bureau of Investigation announced it was ending its relationship with the SPLC, which previously worked with the government on hate crimes and domestic extremism research and reporting.  Civil rights groups like the SPLC are at the forefront of ensuring that everyone in our country can live, love, vote, and exist free from discrimination. The people involved in these organizations train poll workers, run mutual aid networks, call out discrimination, and defend our right to protest. The Trump administration is trying to silence and erase voices doing this critical work because they are a threat to their authoritarian agenda. SPLC used their platform to expose hate—and we will do the same. Add your name to the petition to show solidarity with the SPLC and make it clear that Americans will not stand by quietly as the Trump administration silences free speech, punishes civil rights groups, and tries to intimidate everyday people from exercising their fundamental rights.

  • Tell Polymarket: Stop Betting on War
Polymarket is turning human suffering into speculation: Six anonymous accounts, most of them created on February 27, made over $1.2 MILLION on Polymarket by betting that the bombs would fall the next day. Just days ago, in the minutes before the U.S.–Iran ceasefire was announced, at least 50 brand-new accounts placed tens of thousands of dollars worth of highly specific bets that the violence would pause. These trades have a similar profile; the accounts were created just moments before a critical world event. The bets were the only bets those accounts ever made. And each left their anonymous owners hundreds of thousands of dollars richer. It all paints a deeply troubling picture that Polymarket is where powerful people can use their access to privileged information to turn a profit on matters of war and violence. But we have a plan to stop these dangerous bets. Corporations respond when their reputations — and their bottom lines — are on the line. That’s why we’re partnering with 20 groups to sound the alarm and send a message directly to Shayne Coplan, Polymarket's CEO, to remind him that these bets come with a cost too high to bear. Because if enough of us speak out, we can create enough public pressure to force Polymarket to ban these corrupt markets.

  • Petition for the Recognition of Wild Tending as a Public Right
This is not a call for unregulated action.   It is a call for alignment between what is legal and what is life-giving.    We believe that contributing to the function of the natural world is not only a responsibility, but a right.    A system that permits degradation while prohibiting regeneration is out of balance.    We stand for a future where people are not separated from the living world but are recognized as participants within it.
