• Do not reverse EPA restrictions
I love this country too much to let bg money dirty it up to increase profits. Bays and rivers should be cleanof toxic wastes. Air should be free of toxic chemicals and obscene odors. No land should be corrupted by oil, gas, or any other chemicals from broken pipes.

  • 100% Electric Buses for L.A.
Every year for the last few decades, Los Angeles has made the list of the top 10 most polluted cities in the United States. But there is a solution! Electric buses are here and ready — they run on clean, renewable energy with ZERO emissions and very little maintenance, and the new 100% electric buses are made right here in Southern California. Unfortunately, we know the Los Angeles Metro Board is considering the purchase of 1,000 new dirty gas buses despite the readily available electric buses. It's no surprise that the greedy natural gas industry is behind this and wants to block attempts to clean up our air in order to make a profit. Electric buses can curb emissions, clean up our air and create good green jobs. We must transition to 100% electric buses for Los Angeles!

  • Sen. Dianne Feinstein, Call on Sessions to Resign!
We need Senator Feinstein to join Kamala Harris in calling for resignation. Perjury is a serious crime for any office-holder, but especially so for a man whose agency is tasked with finding the truth. Californians need to know that Feinstein will value the truth and our country's integrity over Senate relationships and comity. Recusal is not enough!

  • Affordable Care Act
It seems the Republican President, Republican Senate, and Republican House thinks that the lower and middle class can afford high premiums, high deductible's, high out of pocket expenses, and out of control prescription prices. I am a disable person. My premium costs for insurance right now takes one -third of my disability pay. I can't even get out of my deductible and out-of- pocket costs before the next year renewal starts. My bills keep mounting. My message to our leaders is try to walk in our shoes. If they really cared about the lower and middle class, they would really fix healthcare instead of issuing vouchers that don't work, or requiring us to buy private insurance which we can't afford. None of them are lower or middle class, so stop pretending that you care and that you are going to fix this. My solution is that if Congress and the President think this is an easy fix, let them work for minimum wage or live on Medicare or SSDI. I bet if they were in the average lower and middle class family situation of working two jobs or more, paying for all living expenses and then trying to pay for healthcare, with its high deductible's, high out-of-pocket costs, high premiums, and then prescription drugs along with that, there would be a great change in healthcare.

  • To The House Ways And Means Committee
In a pre-dawn meeting last week, the majority Republican House Ways And Means Committee voted to approve the Trump/Ryan repeal of the Affordable Care Act (Obamacare) and replace it with a bill that would deprive the most vulnerable American citizens of insurance and raise premiums and limit coverage for most of the rest of us, all in the name of a $600 billion tax cut for the very wealthy. They should be on notice that we are watching and we will not sit passively.

  • Equality in Women's Soccer!
The US Women's National Soccer Team has a serious difference is how much attention and money they earn compared to the Men's national team. The women have won three World Cups and multiple gold and silver medals. The US Soccer team was only paid 2 million dollars for wining the World Cup, where the men got paid 9 million for losing after the group stage. The men's team also gets paid when they lose a game and the women only get paid if they win. The women's team has brought more and more fans to US Soccer and holds the record for the most watched game in US Soccer History when they won the World Cup in 2015. The Women deserve to be paid equally and given as much attention as the men's team. Let's help our daughter's heros! Let's help the athletes that inspire us! LET'S MAKE EQUAL PAY FOR WOMEN'S SOCCER1

  • Keep the Fearless Girl Permanently
Kristen Visbal's "The Fearless Girl" is being placed temporarily at the bottom of Broadway Avenue and Morris Street in Manhattan, New York City. Confident and defiant in front of the Charging Bull, "The Fearless Girl" resonates with many people. Her audacious stance facing the Charging Bull represents the strength, fortitude, and power of women worldwide to fight against a patriarchal, sexist society.

  • Congress: Support NOAA and Our Reserves
Close to 98% of federal funding to the NERRS from NOAA goes directly to coastal communities. News emerged this past Friday that the Trump Administration is urging drastic cuts to NOAA's budget, including complete elimination of the National Estuarine Research Reserve System. Without the funding and support that NOAA provides, many of our nation's reserves would be forced to shut their doors. Science, training, and technical assistance essential to keeping our coastal communities safe and thriving would disappear. Reserves are special places that communities count on to educate children, adults, and decision makers about their environment. Nationwide, they provide STEM education to more than 8,500 kids and 250 teachers annually, deliver coastal resiliency training services that reach more than 2,500 communities, and maintain more than 110 water quality stations and 30 weather stations that collect data every 15 minutes to manage hazardous spills, shellfish industry operations, water quality, and emergency response to storm surge and flooding. Reserve science protects our estuaries, and healthy estuaries defend us against property and industry loss, sustain fisheries and other businesses, support recreational activities and protect water quality. Learn more about reserves at www.nerra.org. #MyReserveOurCoasts

  • Stop bills targeting protesters and the homeless
Three troubling bills target the homeless and protesters. H5690 says that drivers who drive into a protester on the road are not liable for the injury they cause if they "exercise due care" -- the bill sends a signal that encourages malicious people to "accidentally" drive into protest marches and rallies. http://webserver.rilin.state.ri.us/BillText/BillText17/HouseText17/H5690.pdf H5258 makes it a crime to stand anywhere in an "unsafe" road or on the roadway median, a bill that targets panhandlers but also criminalizes people with political messages or fundraising drives. http://webserver.rilin.state.ri.us/BillText/BillText17/HouseText17/H5258.pdf H5210 fines drivers if they stop to give anyone money or other items, penalizing those who are generous to the less fortunate as well as anyone who just hands something to family or friends. http://webserver.rilin.state.ri.us/BillText/BillText17/HouseText17/H5210.pdf
