I am demanding that the Houston police department and all police across the nation are required to wear body cameras to stop this modern day genocide of our Black men and all other people who have been senselessly killed by law enforcement. Wallace and I am a rising Junior at Carlow University's School of Social Work studying to earn a Bachelor’s Degree in Social Work with a concentration of Crisis and Trauma. I am writing you as a constituent to tell you my story and also express my hope that you will push to get Bill S. 1503, the Lyme and Tick-Borne Disease Prevention, Education, and Research Act of 2015, from the introduction phase to being passed through both Houses and finally becoming a law. There is so much that medical professionals and the general public does not know about Lyme Disease. It mostly affects our most precious population--our children--and if not treated, can have life-long affects and be fatal. I am a voice of the people affected with this disease and I am pleading with you to help our children. July 2013 is when I become aware of Lyme Disease. My son Nathaniel at the age of three was bitten by a blacklegged tick on his neck. For three months he endured flu like symptoms and pain. Every single time that I took him to get examined by a doctor I was told that he was fine or it was just a bug. One time I took him to his primary care physician because he woke up with a red flaky rash on his forehead near his hairline. A rash is one of the first signs of Lyme Disease. The doctor accused me of placing my child in danger and permitting or letting him have access to chemicals. In September 2013 my son expressed that his knee was hurting and appeared to walk with a limp. Shortly thereafter his knee swelled up and he was unable to move his leg. I took him to the hospital to be examined. I explained to the physician and the medical staff about his condition and the countless trips to his PCP and the hospital and every time I was he was seen I told nothing was wrong with him. Now here we are months later and with the same symptoms and now he has loss mobility. I told the ER doctor that there is definitely something wrong with my son and you have to fix him! They performed a battery of tests and drew some fluid from his knee. I was told by the physician that fluid in his knee was a yellow-green color instead of the clear indicating an infection. That day he was diagnosed with Lyme disease and it was stated to me that it is in his blood and had spread throughout his body. He was immediately admitted. His was treated but not cured. He still has symptoms to this day. My son was 1 of the 5,758 statewide reported cases of Lyme Disease in 2013 in. For the past five years, Pennsylvania has reported the most Lyme disease cases nationwide according to the CDC. Here are some scary facts about Lyme Diesase: • Blacklegged ticks can transmit a parasite which can cause anemia. • Has the potential to be fatal. • Can causes fever, headache, chills and muscle aches. • The disease also can lead to psychological changes. Lyme Disease can be cured if detected early so there is hope to stop it before it becomes an epidemic. It is sad that this disease attacks one of our most precious populations: our children between the ages of 3-7. Children born to undocumented parents are being put at risk of the very horrors we as a nation fight to prevent globally; likewise, we cannot have our own children exploited and stand to say we support children. The anti-immigrant climate of our nation is stripping us of our humanity and the government's duty to protect its citizens and especially those who are the most vulnerable. We cannot ignore the futures of these children, for they have rights to protection and due process guaranteed to all Americans.

I am starting this petition due to the massive discrepancy in concern and sympathy from the media and politicians for when atrocities like the one in Paris are chiefly happening in parts of the world where the populations are non-western and people of color. Due to the low rates of recidivism for older adults, as compared to younger groups of paroled individuals, we support the establishment of a program to consider the release of geriatric inmates who do not pose a public safety risk. The U.S. trans and gender nonconforming communities are full of leaders far more adept at this task. It is insulting that our expertise at advocacy, organizing, and politics is being looked over for the petty celebrity star power of a former Olympic athlete. Jenner could actually be detrimental to the rights and well-being of trans people across the planet since she shares so few of our communities' experiences with homelessness, unemployment, and violence. Those experiences are especially prevalent internationally and among trans people of color at home: Jenner will never understand what it means to live at this intersection of racism and transphobia. Removed from the realities of her community by a mountain of wealth, Jenner has previously stated that she's not one of the trans people who speaks out against discrimination and has shamed other trans people for using state welfare. In the words of a recent protest against Jenner: “Who, you may ask, did they select to speak on the issues facing trans people and especially trans women in our city? Caitlyn Jenner, who lives in a mansion and has a net worth of millions of dollars, while the average trans person has a 41 percent chance of experiencing homelessness and a nearly 50 percent chance of living off less than $10k per year." Tommie Thames made a big mistake as a young kid in trying to hide the body of his friend. The gun went off accidentally and he should have reported it immediately but he was a kid and knew no better. Research shows now that adolescents do not have the brain capacity to think about consequences- they are all in the now and make foolish decisions. But why was this kid given70 years? We need him released now. He has rehabilitated himself and there is no just reason for keeping him.

Alabama, Utah, Indiana, Tennessee, and Georgia all had the highest filing bankruptcy rates in 2013 by state. Another thing they had in common was the "Right to Work" policy. "Right to Work" is unfair and unequal to unionized workers. It takes away benefits and opportunities from our family, pension, retirement, etc. The goal of making the United States "Right to Work" effective is to lower our wages and to destroy our economy even more. Without unionized labor, there is not any guarantee of work and no growth for the middle class.
