The anticipated Congressional votes on the Iran nuclear agreement are all about Democrats. If Democrats stick together in support of diplomacy, there’s no way Republicans can derail the agreement. Illinois Rep. Tammy Duckworth has not yet taken a clear stand. This concerns all Illinois Democrats, because Duckworth is running for the Senate seat currently held by Mark Kirk, and there is a contested Democratic primary. Democratic primary voters across Illinois will have a say in whether Duckworth is the Democratic nominee. It also concerns Illinois Senator Dick Durbin, because he is Rep. Duckworth's chief political patron. He could use his influence to help get Duckworth off the dime. We’ll be delivering this petition on August 19 to Rep. After Comcast failed the first time, Charter has announced that they want to take a crack at buying Time Warner Cable. This new deal, with transactions valued at nearly $90 billion, would allow Charter and Comcast to control nearly two-thirds of the nation's high-speed broadband customers. Some analysts think that the end result of Charter's proposal could actually make them BIGGER than Comcast. Once again, we'll have companies that have no interest in improving broadband infrastructure, service or speeds. Mergers are bad for American consumers — and a direct threat to the net neutrality rules we fought so hard for. We need MORE competition in the broadband market, not less.

I am proud to call this man my daddy! It is outrageous that with all his accomplishments and no conduct related issues while incarcerated that they continue to keep him from me and my family. Both of the men that my dad were tried with have been paroled out of the State of Wisconsin. Why is my dad still there? He hasn’t caught any other cases and has been a model prisoner. He has taken classes to better himself and has held continuous jobs so that he can continue to grow his skills. He is currently learning to work on engines; small 2 stroke engines as well as big diesel engines. Everything he does in there, he does to better himself so that he has a future when he comes home. You have had him for 30 years. Please let me have him for the next 30. I, my son, my family and my dad have suffered long enough. It’s time for him to come home and start his life over and be the father and grandfather that he hasn’t had the chance to be. I was 9 years old when my dad was taken from me. I will be 40 in August. My son (my dad's only grandchild) is now 21. He has seen his grandpa once in his whole life. The one thing that my Grandparents want to see in their last years is for their son to come home. Please give my dad the opportunity to spend those last few years with his parents.

The Petition is to expand Social Security. I am Eric’s mother. My whole family has long been waiting for him and we know he is ready. There must be a way that parole is opened up for these prisoners. Upon closing I pray that my son is allowed the opportunity of coming back home. His internal scars will forever remind him of his bad choices. I have faith that on top of that mountain of NO’S there is a YES for our family. We will forever be graciously thankful.

Years of asking for either speeds bumps or traffic lights have not come to fruition and have had the Fire Department oppose both. We recently had a fatality and there have been numerous accidents due to the high speed going past this elementary and pre-school location. The Police Commissioner agrees with the all-way stops signs along with our Senator, Delegate and City Council Representative.

For nearly twenty years, Roundup Ready crops have been planted on farmland across the country and sprayed with increasing levels of Roundup. Roundup's active ingredient is the herbicide glyphosate, which kills milkweed, the one plant that monarchs rely on as habitat to lay their eggs. As milkweed has disappeared, monarch populations have declined steeply. The Environmental Protection Agency is currently considering how best to protect monarch butterflies and will be accepting public comments until Monday, August 24. Tell the EPA to protect monarch butterflies by banning the use of Roundup!
