• Democrats: Defend the Iran deal. Don't let Republicans start a war with Iran!
The Obama administration and five other world powers have reached an agreement with Iran. Now, Congress faces a stark choice: Will Congress support peace--or rush America to another war of choice in the Middle East? If Congress rejects a diplomatic solution, while maintaining that allowing Iran to obtain a nuclear weapon is unacceptable, the alternative is military action. Iran is a much larger country, with a much more sophisticated military, than Iraq or Afghanistan. War with Iran would be a deadly, costly quagmire. This should be a total no-brainer for Democrats. Yet right now, too many Democrats are perilously close to joining the Republican sabotage campaign. They're feeling acute pressure from lobbyists who oppose diplomacy and the bite of unrelenting attack ads paid for by war hawks on the right. The American public backs a diplomatic deal with Iran by a 2-1 margin. Non-proliferation, nuclear policy, and national security experts agree that a diplomatic resolution is by far the best way to ensure that Iran never builds a nuclear weapon. And the Obama administration has promised to go all out to defend this hard-won and verifiable deal. MoveOn members have been staunch defenders of diplomacy—and the peace it represents—for years. We've made tens of thousands of calls and generated nearly two hundred thousand petition signatures to let diplomacy with Iran work. Now it's time to protect the deal.

  • Curry County Commissioners: We the people of Curry County NM are asking for Change
We the people of Curry County are asking the Curry County Commissioners to remove Ms. Tori Sandoval, and Mr. Lance Pyle of their job duties as the Curry County jail administrator and county manager, respectively, for the following reasons listed below in the body of this petition. Lance Pyle, the current manager has allowed Tori Sandoval to cause harm to inmates, to the facility and to employees because of her lack of experience and education. His failed supervision of her shows derelict of duties that are written within the personnel rules of the county. During Mr. Pyle’s term, he has not been able to satisfactorily meet established performance and efficiency standards to be able to make decisions in reference to Curry County Detention Center allowing endless settlements and lawsuits against the county to occur because of his lack of ability to obey the law, adhere to personnel rules and follow-up with employee’s that have contacted him with true complaints about the CCADC and the current admin of the facility. By doing this Mr. Pyle and performing a management style that is tacit in nature, he has allowed the doors to be opened to many unethical practices currently taking place at CCADC. Mr. Pyle and the County Commissioners past and present have unjustifiably terminated or fired many educated and informed administrators which have resulted in extensive litigation costing the county heavy financial expenses and duress. Tori Sandoval current Administrator of Curry County Adult detention center has demonstrated poor judgment and management skills and has exasperated others to voluntarily resign or quit because she plays favoritism amongst many employee’s, creating a hostile work environment and allowing the CCADC to become a working hazard conditions resulting in the abuse of inmates, letting sexual harassment go unnoticed, short staff, and not following policy and procedure protocols when the facility is short staffed. Tori Sandoval has exhaustedly squandered county funds on hiring and training detention officers as the county went through over 200 employees since she has been administrator of CCADC, resulting again in unsafe working environment and unnecessary fiscal burden on the county. Tori Sandoval has engaged in manipulated mind games e.g. favoritism amongst inmates by allowing contraband into the facility as a birthday cake for inmates. Recently, it was disclosed there was a serious health condition within the jail’s interior cells. Tori Sandoval has known about the black mold in the facility and did not take measures to remedy the situation until it was leaked out into the public. In the course of her official duties, Ms. Sandoval has shredded disciplinary write-ups so her favorite employees can have better positions and better salary benefits and long term employment. She has cost the citizens of Curry County endless dollars by re-hiring and firing people causing we, the Curry County tax payers to “fork up fork out “ hard-earned dollars to provide the county the funds to hire and train staff. We the Citizens of Clovis are tired of our Current County Commissioners not finding remedies for these serious and kind of administrative issues, and are asking for Mr. Lance Pyle County Manager and Tori Sandoval Administrator of Curry County Detention Center to be removed from their current duties and begin a fresh search for competent and qualified individuals to replace them.

  • Open Kentucky's Primary Election Process! #KyLeg #KyGov
This petition is being started, and should be a clarion call for the People to do a similar petition in their respective states. For too long our primary election process in Kentucky has been closed to those who are not main-stream or popular with the political establishment. Candidates for elected office, who are really good, are being deliberately and effectually overlooked by the voters of our state because they are not regarded as popular or friendly with the political party establishment or power brokers. Not too long ago I was reading an article from http://voteforbernie.org/ - Just Copy & Paste this Link in your Web Browser in order to see what is being discussed here. The political market is being cornered everyday: http://www.aclu-ky.org/article/voting-rights/ - Just Copy & Paste this Link in your Web Browser in order to see what is being discussed here. Our vote and voters, as well as future voters, are being oppressed. IF you are not popular or considered main- stream by the political establishment, you are out of luck, especially in Kentucky. And if you are not main-stream or friendly with political party power brokers, the likelihood of you getting on the ballot in the Commonwealth of Kentucky is slim to none - http://lwv.org/our-work - and this MUST END. These things are arcane and restrictive to a voter or potential voter who may not wish to align themselves with a main-stream political party. That is why we need free, fair and open elections - primary and general elections, throughout the Commonwealth of Kentucky and across the United States of America - to ENSURE that our voices and our choices are heard. More voices and more choices equals Democracy! IF you are a Voter, a Concerned Citizen or BOTH, please join with me in OPENING the Primary Process in Our State. Thank you! -- David R. Davidson P.S. • PROMOTE HONOR, NOT HATE!
Macon's City Center (2nd Street) should honor and highlight the best of what Macon has to offer. The confederate statute that currently fills the place is not a reflection of Macon now, and certainly not of our future. Sign this petition if you support replacing the confederate statue with the Otis Redding Statute or a combined community art piece led by artist representing neighborhoods from across Macon-Bibb.

  • Soda Tax
It's absolutely ridiculous that we let the food industry get away with the shenanigans that we refused to put up with from the tobacco industry. It's time we recognize the damage done and hold those responsible accountable.

  • BREAK THE MONOPOLY that causes Bankruptcy and Hardship for Family Farmers!
I was denied a grain dealers license, State of Louisiana, Starting July 1, 2015. I met all qualifications, including proof of funds. The farming community in Louisiana requested me to obtain grain dealers licensure to sell rice. Harvest season is eminent this year with last years grain still in holding bins. This drives the prices further down. Farmers cannot profit or even sell= bankruptcy or no rice farming. I need a license now not in several months after harvest season. I am a female, and minority business owner denied a license and denied the right to conduct rice sales.

  • Help stop the genocide of the poor
I am starting this petition because I have personally experienced the need for aid and I am deeply offended by the sector of the population who acts as if we are taking food from their mouths all these programs require income to be coming into the home and not everyone on these programs is a drug addict or using it for fraudulent purposes. I also think that just because you are poor doesn't mean you shouldn't have children or necessities like healthy food. I am ashamed of my country because it has come to this. What next, mass genocide of the poor?

  • Stop $7 Million dollars in Pay Raises for State of Connecticut Government Managers
My husband Dan has 17 year old autistic twins. We received over 14,000 signatures to help defend the rights of the Intellectually Disabled community of Connecticut earlier this year. The previous petition helped to mobilize a community of parents, workers, aids, etc. to take a stance again Governor Malloy's dramatic proposed cuts. After seeing the budget battle and how this community was short changed, these pay increase are especially offensive. We need to make a very strong statement and tell Governor Malloy this is NOT OK.

  • Save the View of the Brooklyn Bridge!
I fell in love with the Brooklyn Bridge the first time I laid eyes on it. The Brooklyn Bridge is a worldwide icon and a National Historic Landmark. Toll Brothers should honor the agreement they made with the Brooklyn community to limit the height of the building so that people from around the world can continue to see the view of the Brooklyn Bridge from the Brooklyn Heights Promenade, as they always have. This view should remain free for everyone in the world, not limited only to billionaires who buy a condo in this oversized building monstrosity.
