I'm outraged that government entities continue to display the confederate flag--an overt symbol of racism. Start with South Carolina! This must stop now and the only way to stop something in America is to hit those responsible in the pocket book.

The Confederate Flag represents a Southern History, Southern Heritage, and Southern Culture for those who chose to oppose equality during The American Civil War. No matter who opposes, The Confederate Flag, is a Honorable Artifact, notably worthy of being remembered. Unfortunately, without proper law and order, Americans have traditionally misused the Flag, warranting hate crimes. As a result, the effects have been similar to a person misusing the purpose of a kitchen knife. Theoretically speaking, the Kitchen Knife was made to prepare food, but if misused, it becomes a weapon. The purpose of using the Kitchen Knife, as a prime example, is because it Is owned by every household in America. By-Law, owning one, doesn't give Americans the right to use it to make threats, inflict pain, injury or other hostile actions on people, In recompense or retribution for something done or not done. The Confederate Flag is not to blame for People who have abused their privileges; People who have symbolically created it as a weapon of mass destruction; People who flamboyantly renounce the genuity of the flag, with no remorse for being guilty by association. The despicable misuse of what the Confederate Flag stands for, is a public nuisance; Progress will continue to free-lance until the law calls for order. Now is the time, We stand together to petition to Ban The Confederate Flag, that it be placed in a safe place, where objects of historical, scientific, artistic, and cultural importances are stored. May the resignation of The Confederate Flag, victoriously belong to the people who won to heal. We pray, Their efforts were not in vain. As it is ordained, We hold these truths as evidence, All Men are created equal.

Maui county charter provides that the general plan and the Lana'i, Moloka'i and Maui island plans as well as community plans govern land use. But Couch and Arakawa keep trying to insert language into law and into the plans which would turn that upside down and either make the administration's zoning supercede the community plan or flat out say that the community plan is only a "suggestion" and has no force of law. The plans are the only way that the public can have a say on the rampant development occurring in Maui County and these sneak attacks on the plans are designed to remove the citizens themselves as impediments to the developer agenda of paving over our islands. Couch plays all innocent and claims he's only trying to "clean up the rules and make them uniform." But he's making them uniform by getting rid of the enforceability of what the public wants.

I'm an African American still living in SC after the mass murder of 9 people because of the color of their skin. I have worshiped with and knew of the others' good works in the community. Now I see images of this racist terrorist murder waving; you guessed it - the confederate flag.

I am creating this petition because I believe it is unjust to people of color to have something like this on federal grounds. Being the first thing someone would see walking to the courthouse, the Confederate rock is a sign of oppression and does not make all citizens comfortable going into a court of law. If the Confederate rock was moved off the campus of the University of Missouri in 1975 because of controversy, then does it really make sense to have it placed on the grounds of the courthouse for Boone County? No, it does not--and it needs to be removed.

Governor Nikki Haley recently stated that no corporation has asked for the Confederate flag, our nation's swastika, to be removed from government buildings. Hate symbols from the Holocaust including the Nazi Swastika are banned in many countries including Germany. BMW must divest from South Carolina until the Confederate flag is removed from all government entities in its state. To quote Albert Einstein, "If I were to remain silent, I’d be guilty of complicity."

The Trans-Pacific Partnership will negatively hurt all but the super rich and large corporations. They will not even let the people see it before it is voted on. NOT COOL!

This law has made it hard on families around Alaska to get out of jail because we have to be monitored by another adult 24/7. People lose their jobs because of this law. If they just had bail instead of a third party custodian added alongside it, then it would be easier to get out.

The Confederate flag represents a failed attempt by traitors who fought and lost against the United States of America. It is a symbol of hate not only of black brothers and sisters, but of all citizens of this great nation. Germany doesn't fly flags with swaztikas and WWII is a lot closer in time than the Civil War.

Bernie Sanders is one of the most honest politicians out there - he deserves to have a chance at the Democratic primaries. Because of New York's Wilson Pakula Act, Bernie may be barred from running for the Democratic nomination in New York because he is not officially affiliated with the Democratic Party. However, certain exceptions are granted if a candidate gets permission from the state political party leaders. Despite this, the New York State Democratic Party is quite content to leave Bernie's name out of the primary. Please, tell the New York State Democratic Party: We Want Bernie's name on the ballot! Only then can we have a good public discourse among candidates on issues that matter to New Yorkers and to the whole country.

I am saddened by the recent deaths of 9 citizens in the city of Charleston, South Carolina due to the racial hatred of one individual who proudly displayed his shameful hatred and white supremacist attitude by sporting the confederate flag on his automobile.

The Senate is going to take up Fast Track, TPA, this coming Tuesday. Fast Track will grease the skids for the TPP and other coming global secret corporate designed deals. They have very little to do with trade and more to do with de-regulation of the global economy. The intense corporate lobbying of our representatives is upwards of $200Million, yet the people have made it clear we do not want these deals to be fast-tracked. We want open review and access to the texts. 2000 organizations, all labor unions, the Sierra Club along with most environmental groups, and many faith groups have come out strongly against a push that would destroy the global economy, trash the environment and protected waterways, exacerbate human rights abuses, human trafficking and slavery. We are asking Senator Nelson to leave a lasting legacy for Florida and the planet. Vote NO on Fast Track
