The very large number of home foreclosures have reduced our home values by ~ 40% which has eliminated most, if not all, of our citizens' home equity, has precipitated 3 home property tax increases within 3 years, caused vacant and looted homes, increased crime, caused large budget cuts to our schools, etc. The actions requested in our Petition plus our non-profit's Foreclosure Prevention activities help from our Federal and Georgia Government Foreclosure Prevention Units will prevent and eliminate most of the pending, present, and future foreclosures in Douglas County. These actions have proven to be very successful in doing that across the nation. When the Foreclosures are prevented and removed, our Home values will increase 40% or more and then the county can reduce our home property tax rates. As a result of our Home Values increasing by 30%-40%, 60% of our home owners will no longer owe more on their mortgage than their house is worth. All their Home Equity will be restored + some. They'll be able to use their new-found home equity as they did before, i.e. for emergencies, to pay high cost medical bills, pay their kid's college tuition, consolidate their bills, buy "big ticket items" i.e. a boat, RV, new furniture, luxury vacation, etc. or be able to sell their home and use their equity to buy another one. Please help us to make those things a reality for all of Douglas County homeowners by signing this Petition and getting everyone you know to do the same.

People nationwide, and especially people in Virginia want to know if their produce has been sprayed with potentially deadly pesticides. I have an autistic son who is sensitive to pesticides and other toxins. The Virginia consumer has a right to know if their produce has been adulterated by pesticides. It is something parents demand.

When the voices of low-wage workers and community leaders are leading the conversation, we see real progress on fair pay. We must ensure that the fight for a national minimum wage increase is no longer a one-sided debate, and call on news outlets to to feature stories from the people who matter most in fighting economic inequality -- the working poor.

In a speech Saturday to the National Rifle Association, Sarah Palin said that "if I were in charge, they would know that waterboarding is how we baptize terrorists." The audience roared with approval. This is what we've come to in America: A former candidate for vice-president can equate torture and baptism, and one of the nation's most powerful political lobbies erupts into cheers and applause. As usual, Palin's remarks are already making international headlines, once again portraying Christianity as a religion of hatred and violence. But of course, sincere Christians like me are appalled by her twisted misrepresentation of our faith -- and anyone of good conscience should be offended by turning torture into a cheap political punchline. So we're launching a statement to the media, denouncing her remarks and setting the record straight: There's nothing Christian about Palin's hateful remarks.

Recently a girl named Ashley Cardona took her life due to being bullied at her school. The school she attended knew of the bullying, and now that she has taken her own life, the school does not want to help punish the kids who bullied her. The bullies and school should be held responsible for what they pushed her into doing.

I am frustrated and have had enough with Dos Equis beer being promoted to the Hispanic community with a character that is supposed to be Jatin. The ads feature Jonathan Goldsmith as "the world's most interesting man" and are narrated by Frontline's Will Lyman. The Hispanic American community of The U.S. should see Hispanic characters on TV / Film / and Radio be played by Hispanic actors. I consider the ads to be an insult.

My petition would help other victims of sexual abuse in a taxi cab to get justice quicker. It might even prevent the abuse from happening. I am personally affected by this issue. I was sexually assaulted by a cab driver. If there was audio and video surveillance in the cab it would have provided the police with evidence that the driver did threaten my well being.

My brother Ceeno is a first-time offender who was given 27 years for a crime he didn't commit at 19 years old. He was given more time than a murderer just for standing up for his constitutional rights and has already served 11. Both my brother's witness and the plaintiff's own key witness testified that Ceeno was not a part of this robbery, but the facts didn't matter in a tainted unfair trial. The judicial system has been corrupt for many years and the laws need to be changed to end mass incarceration.
