• Sign the petition: Tell Arizona Gov. Jan Brewer to veto the “okay-to-discriminate” bill
The Arizona legislature has passed a bill that would allow businesses to discriminate against LGBT customers—or any other customers who they claim it would be against their religion to serve. Gov. Jan Brewer has until Tuesday to sign or veto the bill. She has not taken a position yet, despite having vetoed an earlier version last year. Right-wing bigots are pushing such “okay-to-discriminate” bills in state legislatures across the country, and we must make sure they lose in Arizona. Sign our petition urging Arizona Gov. Jan Brewer to say “no” to discrimination and veto SB 1062.

  • Designate Madeline Island a GMO FREE ZONE!!
The People of the Town of LaPointe and Madeline Island deserve a healthy quality of food. GMO seeds have been touted as a solution to production and overall yield and yet, the companies that are promoting this view have conducted no health studies and can offer no data as to the long term effect of GMO products on the human body or the surrounding environment. However, private studies conducted by individuals in academic research have shown conclusively that GMO products have an adverse effect on the natural biological function of both the human body and the natural environment. We the undersigned are not willing to sacrifice health and security over privatization of the public seed domain. Our ancestors survived without the use of GMO seeds; We The People resolve to do the same.

  • Save our children's education
Tallahassee republican politicians have proposed that the Holmes County schools concentrate on funneling our children into low paying blue collar jobs, the jobs that disappearing the fastest to automation. I believe that our children are equally capable of being the future leaders of our nation and our commerce and culture just as they are any other place in these United States, and they should not be hindered nor diverted by any deliberate truncation or modification of their educations for this purpose.

  • Let doctors prescribe pain medication for those suffering with chronic pain.
I was injured with a burst fracture and have had multiple spinal surgeries. I am told that the burst fracture will cause me extreme pain the remainder of my life and I am only 51. Pain medication is all that has kept me from taking my life. It does not eliminate the pain but it gets me through each day. Now my surgeon is afraid to prescribe me medication due to the new laws. His nurse called 4 area Pain Clinics on my behalf and none will manage my treatment to include Pain medication due to the new laws. We people with terrible pain cannot work, go to the movies, travel, simply enjoy life anymore. It was already taxing on us to have to get new prescriptions each month (Fentanyl) and have to stand in line at pharmacy counters (insurance cancelled contract with pharmacies in my area with drive up). Now those pharmacies if I am lucky enough to get a prescription have protocol in place putting flags on us if we have been on medications longer than 6 months. Patients are being cutoff without even chance to get help through withdrawal. Pain patients have already been closely scrutinized with their needs. There has to be a different way to keep those medications off the streets without keeping it from those who need it to endure their lives.

  • Congress: Extend Emergency Unemployment Compensation
The bitter feud in Congress is hurting millions of Americans. Veterans with bachelor's degrees, single mothers and fathers, experienced professionals, and hard-working Americans are falling through the cracks--they are suffering. Finding work, even a minimum wage job, is an extremely daunting task. Some Americans have to lie about their qualifications to even get an interview for a minimum wage job. Some Americans are past their 50th interview and are still looking for work. Service members, especially, did not come home to sit on the couch and collect unemployment--they are suffering. Help them. Help us. Renew Emergency Unemployment Compensation. In this economic climate, it's a vital resource!

  • Pledge Not to Bring the Superbowl to States with Laws Allowing Discrimination
The Superbowl brings millions of dollars into the economy of the state where it is played. Fans who are traveling to be a part of the Superbowl deserve to know they will be safe from discrimination from local businesses. Many of the sponsors who spend a great deal of money to advertise during the Superbowl to fans watching at home are companies who have anti-discrimination policies in the workplace. Some of these companies also actively promote equality. NFL Football is one of the things that brings Americans of all races, genders, sexual orientations, and religions together. It makes sense for the NFL to stand for inclusiveness and against discrimination of any kind.

  • Trader Joe's stop GMO's!
Trader Joe's is a leader in the revolution towards healthier, more consciously produced foods, and they have become a major force in the food industry now with over 400 unique markets nationwide. We applaud their policies of only featuring meat and dairy products from animals that are not fed growth hormones or antibiotics. It's time for Trader Joe's to take a strong stand against GMO's. We suggest they no longer carry any products containing GMO's. This includes their fruit and vegetables and also the food that is fed the animals whose meat or dairy products they feature, and even the ingredients in their pet foods. Thank you Trader Joe's for going as far as you have gone. Time for the next step!

  • SOS FOR VENEZUELA
We the people of Venezuela that proudly live in United Sates and around the glove, have learned to respect the laws and the constitution with its principles. We ask you in the most humanly possible way, to please open a dialogue with the Venezuelan Government, so that its citizens can choose freely another president that can help the country move on from the current dictatorship. We can now see that President Maduro is not properly representing the citizens, and also lacks the necessary education to represent Venezuela in any issue. We the Venezuelan people ask for your help to stop the insecurity, violence, starvation, and murder caused by the legacy of Chavez dictatorship and now followed by Maduro and his cabinet of corrupt politicians
