• END THE 30-HOUR WORK WEEK
Obama Care has caused a devastating pay-cut to millions of part-time workers in the U.S. "According to the new health-care legislation, all businesses must pay FULL TIME HEALTH CARE to all employees who work 30 hours or more in a seven-day week."1 Normally, we were permitted to work up to 30 hours plus Sunday (Sunday was not counted as part of our work week). Personally, I work six days a week (including Sundays) and receive a weekly pay-check of or about 200 dollars and, as such, already live in poverty. This current legislation will force me and my co-workers to seek previously unsought public assistance, which should be distributed to those who are truly unable to work. This legislation is preventing millions of willing, able-bodied employees from working more than 30 hours per week. Most companies have cut each part-time employee to 28 hours or less per seven-day week, to avoid any fines. Sundays must not be included in our 30-hour work week limit. 1(http://www.local338.org/)

  • Rush Limbaugh is on the run! Don't let him escape!
After a highly successful campaign resulted in massive advertiser boycotts of WABC, the station that carries Rush Limbaugh's daily lunacy, profits have plummeted. The head of WABC has put the blame directly where it belongs -- on Rush Limbaugh and his offensive statements, including those about Sandra Fluke where he went as far as to call her a "slut" for speaking out in favor of access to birth control.   Rush has decided that instead of owning up to the damage he's done to WABC, he'll simply move to rival station WOR if WABC keeps being a big meanie and blaming him for the lost revenue. Let's convince WOR not to give him an escape route.

  • All references to immigrants are to refrain from using the adjective "illegal."
I am not affected personally, but as I consider all people to be my brethren and sisters I stand by their side in all ways. The term "illegal" also tends to destroy families. My support will always be for families also.

  • Tell Senator Feinstein to stand up for bi-national LGBTQ couples!
Senator Dianne Feinstein is a sponsor of the bill to repeal the Defense of Marriage Act. But she's remained silent on whether she'll vote to protect LGBTQ immigrant families when the Uniting American Families Act is introduced next week! We need her to take a stand!

  • Congressional Term Limit (both Senate and House)
We've all been personally affected by this issue. VERY few of our elected officials show genuine concern for our Country as a whole or the needs and concerns of its citizens while in office.

  • Label GMO's in New Mexico
I'm a student in an Environmental Science class and we are learning the negative effects of genetically modified organisms on local farmers and the environment. By labeling the food that contains GMOs, we can help our community make better choices about who they support through their purchases.

  • Tell the Senate: No Obstruction; Confirm Mel Watt!
I could lose my home in Florida because it is underwater and my mortgage payments are too large for me to handle since the economic recession has severely shrunk my retirement investments. Reducing the mortgage principal to the actual value of my home would shrink my mortgage payments to a manageable level.

  • Being human is not "illegal"
The Associated Press recently stopped labeling immigrants whose legal status is in doubt as "illegals," but individual news outlets still use the label. Labels expressing verdicts for groups of humans close our minds to further investigation of how we should understand those people. Verdicts before trials, in which evidence is presented and we hear from the accused, are a national embarrassment, especially in the case of immigration policy where there is so much ignorance and so little discussion.
