  • Save Social Security - No Chained CPI
This petition is to ask that Chained CPI not be a bargaining chip for cut money being spent. One thing that politicians seem to forget is that the citizens of this country have paid into Social Security their whole working lives. How can you cut something that has already been paid into? It's not right, and it is not fair!!!

  • Stop FCC's effort to drop ban on f-word, nudity on television and radio stations nationwide
The Federal Communications Commission (FCC) announced it is considering dropping current broadcast decency standards that ban explicit profanity and "non-sexual" nudity.Specifically, if enacted, the new FCC policy would allow network television and local radio stations to air the f-word, the s-word and to allow programs to show frontal female nudity, even during hours when they know children will be watching and listening.

  • No Change to the Name, Hail to the Redskins
The heritage and tradition of the Washington Football team is under attack needlessly. Surveys executed among the Native American population show that the vast majority (90+%) not only aren't offended by the name "Redskins", they in fact support the team and appreciate the representation of their culture in modern media. Public resources are being spent needlessly on this issue in our legislature and is an affront to liberty to potentially force a change, when the majority of the impacted culture does not find the term offensive.

  • Wisconsin Wolf Hunt: No Dogs Allowed
Senator Fred Risser, 26th Senate District, is introducing a bill banning dogs from the Wisconsin wolf hunt. Dog-wolf conflicts, especially during the denning season, are guaranteed to lead to death on both sides. By any measure, this is barbarism.

Recent studies have linked water fluoridation to a plethora of adverse health conditions. Georgia's mandate to fluoridate all public water should be repealed.

  • 3Dreamnet Center
I would like to start a recreation center in the Salton City area because of lack of activities for teens/children to do while not in school. 3dreamnet Center will involve drug and alcohol counseling, which will be entwined with the activities. Such as.....weights, social room, movie room, and a game room. Said activities will give the counselor a basic characteristic of the teen. (Counseling not mandatory)

  • New York City Council: Stop discriminatory policing by the NYPD / Al Consejo de la Ciudad de Nue...
In a couple of weeks the City Council will vote on two major police reform bills, banning racial profiling and creating an Inspector General to provide oversight for the NYPD. But Mayor Bloomberg is threatening to veto this important legislation. In his time as mayor, Bloomberg has increased the number of “Stop-and-Frisks” six fold—mostly targeting young Black and Latino men and boys. And now he is accusing the New York Times, the New York Civil Liberties Union, and City Council Members of putting the city in danger with these reforms. In a political move we’ve seen time and again over the last decade, he used the tragic deaths in Boston last month and on 9/11 to justify policing practices that violate our civil liberties, saying “God forbid terrorists succeed in striking our city” because of these laws. Both bills are cosponsored by at least 32 City Council Members—a majority of the City Council—but we need 34 votes to overcome a veto from Mayor Bloomberg. Policies like Stop-and-Frisk and the widespread spying on Muslim mosques and college Muslim Student Associations (which the NYPD admits has never produced a single lead), degrade the police-community relationship that is needed for a safe city and turn some New Yorkers into second class citizens. We all need safe communities -- for our kids, our parents, our friends, and our loved ones. But we can't make our neighborhoods safe by violating the fundamental civil rights of our neighbors. Take action now for a better NYPD and a safer New York. Please sign this petition, and then forward it to your friends.
