• Take steps to curb excess violence in entertainment and media
Violent content in our entertainment industry has escalated over the years and by anyone's standards, is a contributing factor in the desensitization of society to brutality, bloodshed, and horror. Through video games, TV, films, and more, people have become immune to the devastating effects of real-life violence toward others. Isn't this how some cultures have dehumanized their enemies in the past? The effects are real and should be examined.

  • Save our Children, Not our Assault Rifles
Reducing the number of assault rifles/guns in Colorado. And making it extremely difficult to purchase such weapons of mass destruction of human life, most often young human life. We must greatly stiffen the the punishment for such horrendous crimes when they do occur and not continue to allow simple pleas of "not guilty by reason of insanity" such that the person is back out on the street as soon as they can convince a psychiatrist they have "recovered". Yes we need much better mental health screening AND treatment, but in the meantime, it is time for this country to get tough on ASSAULT GUNS, which you don't need to be a good hunter!

  • Ban Horse Slaughter for human consumption in USA
Horses are a beautiful part of US history. They pulled our plows, carried our soldiers to battle, thrilled us with amazing feats of strength and agility. These magnificent animals deserve better than to be hauled on trailer trucks to be slaughtered in horrendous inhumane ways. We need support for the American Horse Slaughter Prevention Act.

  • Stop Congress from cutting your Medicare and Social Security
The discussion about cutting both Social Security and Medicare is entirely out of line when it comes to balancing the budget. Reducing military spending and eliminating corporate loopholes for evading taxes are much more viable options.

  • medigap insurance increases
Ohio is listed as close to California in rate hikes in double digits. My wife and, seniors in stable health, were hit with hikes of 18 and 16%. The Ohio Dept of Insurance should have the clout to hold such increases to single digits (New York State does--no more than 10%) especially as health care costs for 2013 are projected at 7.5%.

  • Fire Tony Romo
Mr. Jones, On behalf of Cowboy fans around the world, we would like for you to seriously consider the indefinite termination of Tony Romo as a quarterback for the Dallas Cowboys. Though Tony Romo is a great quaterback at times, he continues to be a liability to the Cowboys when it comes to making the playoffs, and even more so when it comes to winning in the playoffs. The Cowboys have had great receiving corps throughout Tony Romo's career with the Dallas Cowboys. It's time to find a quarterback who wants to throw them touchdown passes, rather than the defenders that he seems to find more often than not. His unreliability has let his teammates down, as well as Dallas Cowboy fans. We (The Cowboys Fans) pay your $100 parking fees to come watch America's team play great football, not to watch Tony Romo blow games.

  • Voting Rules & Procedures
'Long lines at voting locations' make our State the laughing stock of our country and the world. Allowing rediculous amendments on the same ballot as candidates only expands the time in the voting booth. Reducing the budget for Election districts is another contributing factor.

  • PROPERTY TAX
The rate of Property Tax is over the 35% of your mortgage rate. It is an average of 75% in addition to my mortgage. Its like paying for a second home that I don't have. How can the Assesors office say one thing and the Board of Electors say something totally different when assessing my property. Something needs to be done before we have more Foreclosures. No one wants to talk about the other factor that creates the many foreclosures here in Chicago and its Suburbs....one of the other factors is the HIGH PROPERTY TAXES.
