As an adoptee, who was able to locate only my birth mother's family, due to not having my original birth certificate, I now KNOW what true value there is in knowing the details behind my adoption. As many adoptees secretly feel, having always felt there must have been something "wrong" with me, somehow, or no woman would have given me up for adoption, the missing information had far more effect on my self esteem than I had ever realized.
