The bus stop waiting areas and stopping locations along State roads in Florida and elsewhere are appallingly unsafe. It is horrible to see people standing in the grass, in ditches, in the mud etc. Also, there are almost no bus pull outs and buses stop in the moving traffic lane on state roads where the speed limit is 45-55 mph. There have been numerous rear end collisions with buses. Every week across the US there are State road projects yet they are not making them safer for people who need to ride the bus. Everyone is in favor of more bus ridership and less private vehicles yet it is extremely dangerous and unsafe to get on and off the bus on most state roads.

Recently Roosevelt was renamed the Early College High School. This petition is to urge the Board of Education to preserve the iconic name by renaming the school to Roosevelt Early College High School

Too much water in one place should be sent to where it is needed as an economic engine. Send the annual flood waters of the lower Mississippi River to the midwest for a sustainable bread basket and eliminate the annual fisheries Gulf of Mexico dead zone and property destruction in the South.

Before congress starts discussions on "overhauling" the social security and medicare plans they should be required to first start with reducing their pension and healthcare plans.

Congress has set itself above many laws that apply to all of us in order to provide the members with undtold benefits re. health insurance, salaries, pensions, insider trading rights and many other benefits without regard to length of service, accomplishments and work ethics. An independent commission needs to investigate and report on these to a largely unknowing public. The resulting outcry should bring reform.

The people of Michigan were told No Fault Insurance would save us money. We now have one of the highest Insuance rates in the country. Over Turn or over haul or insurance rates to match the cost in other states.

Not enough citizens vote

Reducing or preferably eliminating all corporate subsidies, beginning with the oil companies, is a better alternative to reduce the US Government spending deficit than reducing or eliminating benefits for Social Security , Medicare, Medicaid and other safety met than benefits the poor and middle class.

Atlanta City Council just increased their salary by 52%! Given the economy and the fact that many workers in Atlanta have lost their jobs, I think this is an insensitive slap in the face, not deserved and should be revoked.

Our next Secretary of State will have crucial influence in defining America"s interests, especially with countries such as China, North Korea and Iran.
