For the millions of folks of the baby boomer era, such as myself, Obama is willing to send us to early suicides or homelessness by curtailing the cost of living interests to us at retirement. We need to STOP HIM from keeping this concession on the table, as MOST of us do not have SAVINGS or an IRA, or any OTHER monies to fall back on like when FDR started this program way back when. I live on Social Security because my life savings was lost in the 2008 bank scandal. President Obama lied in his campaign promise to keep Social Security off the table in budget negotiations. What are we seniors to do? Eat cat food? Even that has become too expensive.

Many people in the US depend on their social security check each month as their only source of income. A cut in social security could be devastating.

As an 80 year old disabled woman, I am distressed to hear that you have offered to include Social Security cuts in your budget. I get less than $1,000 a month now -- I don't know how I could get by with any less! I had about $70k in savings, but when the economy went under, that amount was reduced by half. Please let the White House and Majority Leader Reid know that cuts to Social Security benefits would be painful to retirees like so many of us who rely on SS for medicine, food, and daily necessities.

While the antics of the Westboro Baptist Church have littered the media in recent years, it isn't until lately that these fanatics have truly hit bottom. The church has announced its plans to picket the funerals of the children killed in the recent Connecticut school shooting. While previous picketing of other funerals (including those of soldiers) have been distasteful to say the least, it is now that this group has surpassed the threshhold of attention grubbing zealots to an organization focused entriely on the perpetuation and advocation of hate.
