I, as an American citizen, am concerned about the national deficit and ever-widening income gap. I am most concerned with unfunded tax cuts that help those that don't necessarily need it while also feeding income inequality between the rich and the middle class . By the deadline of midnight, December 31, 2012, please negotiate with Congress a fair and amicable solution that addresses both of these concerns, while properly leveraging the "fiscal cliff" in such negotiations.

Long lines that stretch for blocks, standing and waiting for 4, 5, 7 hours is not helpful or healthy to our democracy. Voters who are white collar professionals, doctors, lawyers, they can afford to take long amounts of time away from work, not so for those who are nurses, teachers, bus drivers. Healthy people could stand in line for hours at a time, but those with disabilities, those with health problems, they are not physically able to stand for hours on end just to cast a ballot. This petition is created to force political leaders from all sides to resolve this issue, to improve the process for voting, to encourage and foster participation in American democracy by the entire voting eligible population.

LFUCG has applied for a $6,000,000.00 CDBG loan in order to build a luxury hotel and art museum. Our city has not met its 10% Minority Business Goal. This $6,000,000.00 renovation project should hire at least 20% minorities with the understanding that the unemployment rate in our cities Urban Core which is predominantly black, poverty stricken and overflowing with crime is above 20%.

Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell has indicated that the GOP will hold its course during Obama's second term. Ending the filibuster is within the realm of possibility by repealing the anachronistic "cloture" rule in the Senate at the beginning of the new session of congress. Give hope and change a real shot at happening by urging your senator to end the cloture rule.

Stop the partisan positions and do what is best for the country. Tear up the no new taxes contracts.

LIPA is not open communicating to the consumer what is going on....Yes an estimated 200,000 are out of power but this not including WE the people in the designated storm surge area 100,000+. Now LIPA you want to UP your prices. How dare you LIPA. We would like the Local, State and Federal Governments to do their job and step up! Come On Town Supervisors, Governor what are you doing to hold LIPA accountable. They are lying about assessing homes as I have proof of homes not able to be lived in due to flooding not being dried up or cleaned out where LIPA turned power back on

Our community is falling apart. In the area of 36 to 46 street North in Tulsa, Oklahoma; the area known as “Northridge” needs renovation and development. As citizens, the people in North Tulsa have the right to have their neighborhood's urbanized and renovated to promote community development for all areas of Tulsa. Our duty as tax payers and citizens give us the right to fight for equal opportunities as a community and resident of Tulsa, Oklahoma. "The Northridge shopping center" needs to be called just that and the area needs retail outlets, grocery stores, political work stations, and more corporate activities designed to help the citizens in North Tulsa and Turley Oklahoma live more economical. Within these areas, the purpose of development and renovation is to aid in creating more jobs opportunities for North Tulsa and more economical ways to grow as a district by giving Northridge outlets to help those within the North side district take advantage of community based activities to promote health and wellness as citizens. Renovation in North Tulsa will bring our crime percentage down, help families to grow and get degrees, produce more revenues as tax payers, and create a new Tulsa with hope to focus on the low income communities. This will also help those on government assistant programs be a productive citizens by helping them get off of government programs and allowing them a opportunity in corporate america.

Harry Reid must have the courage to change the filibuster rules in the Senate on the first day of the new congress. This is the only way to achieve the priorities of the President in his second term without facing total obstruction from Senate Republicans.

We ask that the President of the United States of America, Barack Obama, immediately call an emergency session of Congress to solve the Fiscal Cliff before the New Year, and that he resolve to keep Congress in session through the holidays if necessary until the crisis is resolved. We also ask that the President also resolve not to punt the issue down the road. This fiscal cliff will result in a second recession and the loss of millions of American Jobs if it is not solved now. It will make deep cuts to Medicare and raise taxes on the Middle Class if it is not resolved now. We simply cannot afford another do-nothing Congress. We the American people who stand to lose our livelihoods if this issue is not resolved, demand that this issue be resolved now, and that Congress remain in an emergency session of congress until it is resolved.

TBIJ reports that these strikes also injured an additional 1,228 - 1,362 individuals." - From a Stanford/NYU study Killing and injuring civillians by drone strike is surrending any moral high ground in the struggle against terrorism. It incites terror and provokes innocents to hatred. This cannot be the will of the US Citizenry.

My petition is about not allowing electronics by the parent or children in a supervised visit. I have conducted many supervised visitations where the parents bring in their electronics and are on them the whole visit and the children are playing on these devices. I feel this is a big issue; because parents are trying to get their children back, but are not communicating with their children. Instead they answer their cell phones or play games on their devices while the child does the same thing. The supervised visit is only an hour and I feel parents and children can live without electronics for an hour. The only exception to this is if they have to have a cell phone for work purposes only.
