The November 2012 election is over, and many diverse voices were heard. It is time for our government to work beyond party ideologies and begin doing the work of moving our nation forward in service to ALL U.S. citizens.

We the people, the Citizens of this Nation, DEMAND bipartisan laws that will solve our Debt Crisis and Create Jobs. Cooperation is the most important thing right now.

This petition is designed to send a strong message to the obstructionist GOP members of Congress. We wish to put these public servants on notice as their employers, that this behavior must stop now, or expect to be voted out in the next election cycle.

Here in the Northwest, we have mail in ballots for all our elections sent to us weeks in advance, where we can read the issues and vote comfortably at home at our leisure and return by mail or dropping off by a deadline for counting. Sadly, many other states have various rules, times, restrictions, abuse of voters with intimidation, technical issues, faulty machines, long lines outside after working people maybe work all day, disabled, ill, lack transportation, unreasonable ID requirements, etc. Pass a natinal voting standard to be used by all states in future national elections for congress , senate and president, that will encourage voter participation by being more voter friendly with adequate adequate safeguards against abuse of the voters and honesty and accuracy of results that are varifiable .

Please sign to urge the NC General Assembly to repeal Senate Bill 820 - the Clean Energy and Economic Security Act. If ever there was a bill with a categorically fallacious name, this is it. It will provide neither clean energy nor economic security. First, water contamination WILL occur because the shale field actually pierces the aquifer. Drinking water will be laced with carcinogens. Second, because the shale deposits in Chatham, Lee and Moore counties contain natural gas reserves of less than five years, as estimated by the NC State geologist, the alleged economic boom will usher in a bust within five years. Moreover, fewer than 400 jobs per year will be provided, and most of these will be filled with wildcatters from other fracking states. Fracking is a 24-7 nightmare. There is non-stop noise; entire roads are destroyed; entire communities are disrupted. Please repeal Senate Bill 820. Keep NC frack-free.

They have simply given him more time to finish the job they asked him to do together" with a balanced Congress."

In order to avoid any future presidential candidate who has NOT received the popular vote from getting in office, the archaic electoral college (EC) system should be replaced with a more modern, efficient system. When the EC first came in to existence, times were very different and the transfer of information was far slower and inefficient; today information transfer is immediate and it is time to revise our voting process.

As a veteran of the US Armed Forces, I've watched, especially over the last decade, our US Constitution take a real beating with government policies that undermine, disintegrate and flat remove basic human rights guaranteed to US citizens by our Constitution. As a veteran who took an oath to defend and protect the United States of America and her Constitution against all enemies, foreign and domestic, the lack of regard for our Constitution by elected officials in every branch of government - executive: the president and vice-president, legislative: the US Senate and House of Representatives and judicial: the Supreme Court and all other courts of law - is beyond appalling. These elected and appointed governing individuals take the same oath of service upon taking office, yet they are not upholding that oath by selling out to special corporate interests to the detriment, risk and danger of US citizens who elect them to office. One such horrible judicial decision granted "personhood" to corporations. Corporations are concerned with profit, often at great human cost as we increasingly see in our country today. We must restore our Constitution to it's full authority as the law of the land. And the elected and appointed officials who swear an oath to protect and defend the USA and its Constitution against all enemies foreign and domestic need to be reminded - upon pain of being removed from office - that their oath of service is not just a string of words to be ignored for personal gain of power or profit. That oath is a sacred trust to the people of the United States of America.
