I don’t want anymore victims that can’t even be identified because these weapons blew them to pieces! It could be your children next time.

As parents and community leaders who have shared the life of our children with disabilities in the regular education classroom, we provide an education in the least restrictive environment. The Hughes Center is the opposite of this. I come to you in support of the close to 40 years of MCPS inclusive education with age appropriate peers. There is a legacy in this county of respecting inclusive education, making it sustainable, and living in an inclusive community. Please sign the petition to request the Christiansburg Town Council rescind and negate the permit for the Hughes Center and instead, focus resources to strengthening inclusive education within the existing school buildings. We have only a few business days – until June 17, 2022 – to present our petition to the Council.

On May 24th, 2022 America witnessed another tragic event where children and teachers were murdered while attending school. We will not sit back and allow those in power to provide support to the NRA. At a moment when the entire nation is grieving the massacre in Uvalde, we demand meaningful safety measures that have proven they work in other states. Americans want common sense safety measures, and that includes many gun owners. Act now.

Grass-root efforts among everyday people are needed to break through the do-nothing roadblock of those who oppose gun control and elected officials at every level who refuse to pursue measures to control gun violence. Here is what I propose: "Take the Pledge! I will never again vote for a public office candidate--of any party--for any office--local, state, or federal--who does not go on the record--publicly--in support of gun control."

Women’s periods shouldn’t be viewed as a luxury

This is beyond ridiculous that we see mass shooting on a regular basis!! It doesn’t have to be this way!!

Our children are the most precious thing on earth. We need to give them the protection they deserve.

Our children deserve it. Our nation needs it. We are tired crying and living in fear. We must act now to stop this massacre from happening again

Most medical school faculty and students don’t talk about it publicly, and affected patients are unaware this is happening, because they are under anesthesia. It is disturbing to know that by consenting to surgery, women risk having someone literally in their vagina without consent for purposes that benefit only the providers, and not them. A survey at the University of Oklahoma in 2005 found that a large majority of medical students had given pelvic exams to gynecologic surgery patients who were under anesthesia, and that in nearly three quarters of these cases the women had not consented to the exam. As bioethicist Arthur Caplan describes, “Sometimes, more than one student will practice the exam, with many sets of gloved fingers in the patient’s vagina without their knowledge.”
