Human-induced climate change is causing more frequent extreme weather events around the globe. Unfortunately, poorer countries like Mozambique, Bangladesh, Guatemala, and Somalia – countries that have contributed the least to global greenhouse gas emissions – are disproportionately affected by severe weather loss and damages and are unable to cover the costs themselves. For decades, coalitions of island nations and least developed countries have been advocating for the creation of an international loss and damage fund to assist poorer countries with losses and damages caused by severe weather events such as cyclones, droughts, fires, and flooding, but wealthier countries, including the United States, have continuously blocked these efforts.

The decline of bees has been well-documented in recent years, and the U.S. Department of Agriculture says that pollinating insects have an $18 billion annual impact on crops. Temporarily stopping mowing allows for early-blooming plants such as dandelions and white clover to grow to let bees start earlier on their foraging efforts. The longer grass provides a crucial habitat for many insects and small animals without having to travel far distance through a city Regular cutting weakens the grass roots while letting the grass grow helps develop a great root system, which improves water retention and drought resiliency. When cut, the longer trimmings will help the soil by returning the nutrients, promoting healthier, thicker grass and reducing the need for fertilizers.

These latest attacks come after Ron DeSantis and Florida Republicans passed and signed the horrible homophobic and transphobic "Don't Say Gay" bill into law. Together, these are gross attempts at erasing, stigmatizing, and marginalizing the LGBTQ+ community. And the latest guidance from the Florida Department of Health is a clear attempt to replace medical professionals with politicians in service to DeSantis' own political ambitions. It should be withdrawn immediately.  DeSantis' runaway agenda of banning books, muzzling teachers, and erasing history is putting a handful of extremists in charge of every aspect of the lives of Floridians and is making the state less safe for LGBTQ+ families, especially trans and nonbinary kids. All Floridians are watching.

While millions of families are struggling, billionaires have watched their fortunes skyrocket. For too long, the ultra-rich, corporations, and their lobbyists have used their influence to rig the system in their favor – corroding our democracy and hollowing out the middle class. The consequence is an extreme concentration of wealth not seen in any other major economy.

A shooter opened fire on a busy Brooklyn train platform crowded with commuters, injuring ten people, with multiple others hurt by smoke inhalation and in the panic. The shooter is still at large. Over the last few years, our already-sky-high rates of gun violence in the United States have soared even further, and gun sales are at record highs. There is an unending parade of headlines about the latest mass shooting, and of heart-wrenching stories of students and teachers, of mothers and fathers, of sons and daughters, of family members, who were going about their business when they were killed or injured by guns, their families and communities traumatized forever. The gun violence must stop. Our elected leaders have no greater responsibility than to keep us safe, and we cannot continue to accept their utter failure to do so. Tell Congress to take action now.

We need to end wasteful and unnecessary military jet flyovers and reduce harmful emissions into the atmosphere.

Currently AZ is trying to push legislation that limits discussion about discrimination and inequality (SB1412) as well as cutting school funding (SB1269) The bills seem divisive but last week, AZ signed into law a bill banning trans athletes from competing in their identified category (SB1165). **Its important that we as students, educators and parents DO NOT LET THESE BILLS PASS** We need to show legislators that we are aware of what is happening and that we are firmly against it. Corporate Landlords need to be held accountable to protect renters from unscrupulous business practices.

Big Tech giants are violating our rights and undermining our democracy. And because they abuse their monopoly power to stifle competition, many of us don’t have other choices. Fortunately, U.S. Congress has finally introduced legislation to put people back in control of tech. Tell your elected officials to pass antitrust reform legislation and stop Big Tech from dominating our lives.

This is a real problem, and there are those that do not have the financial means to front costs or pay for the rebuilding of their own home. The contracting industry exploits victims snd the very companies that should be protecting victims of disasters, are part of that exploitative industry. There are victims displaced from their homes because the insurance company doesn’t pay what it actually costs to rebuild. They leave victims to fend for themselves. We need to raise awareness and take a stand for those who can’t or those that don’t even realize they are being done wrong.

For decades, tax prep corporations have abused their contract with the IRS and deceived American taxpayers. Intel (TurboTax) and H&R Block advertise their "free" filing services, then slap taxpayers with a bill.
