Idaho requires photo ID to vote, but voters can sign an affidavit verifying their identity in lieu of producing photo ID. Votes cast with an affidavit are to be treated as a valid vote rather than a provisional ballot. People at all polls should be informed of this right. All poll workers should be informed of this right and tell all voters at the poll.

The Michigan Legislature with its Emergency Manager Mandate, is in the process of turning our public school system into a privately owned education system, kind of like our current Health Care System. It sounds good at first, but the reality, if we give in to this now, is that soon we will have no say on who is teaching our children or what they are learning. Our taxes are already being diverted to these (some out-of-state) "schools". We have no jurisdiction over a corporation. There has already been talk of doing away with actual school buildings and making the curriculum entirely online. Sign this petition to Governor Rick Snyder telling him we want our taxes to stay with our PUBLIC SCHOOLS. We want to keep our school boards and teachers. We welcome free enterprise corporate controlled schools, but not with our tax dollars, and not as a Government mandate.

Our local Maine neighbor's are urging their state legislature to increase school funding. State aid accounts for nearly half of K-12 education funding, yet Maine has reduced that funding by $468 per student since 2008. In an attempt in Iowa to suppress the rights of voters in a last minute bid to turn Iowa Red, Iowa Secretary of State Matt Schultz passed several questionable rules earlier this summer. A judge has temporarily "frozen" these laws without actually ruling on their merits. The judge stated: The rules "have in fact created confusion and mistrust in the voter registration process," she wrote, and "have created fear that new citizens will lose their right to vote and/or be charged with a felony and caused some qualified voters to feel deterred from even registering to vote." The Idaho State Legislature continues to cut education funds. Our schools need this funding for a number of things to give them the best education possible. Our children should be our first priority!

Stop restricting insurance coverage for contraception and abortion based on the religious convictions of the employer. This forces people to accept and adopt religious beliefs of another individual if they want to earn a living.

My 22 y/o brother, Louis Jarrod Edwards, was killed by a drunk driver on Wednesday, November 17, 2010. Our family has paid $300.00 to have a sign erected in his memory and we would like to have the sign remain permanently, not the 2 year limit that is currently in place!

To return the electoral process to the people, to reverse the disastrous effects of the Supreme Court decision that allows unlimited, unregulated special interest money to corrupt our democratic process, a Constitutional amendment that places all elections–federal, state and local–under limited public financing regulation, is needed.

The NJ Religious Exemption to Vaccination is in danger. Currently, parents can opt their children out of vaccines due to religion without being forced to reveal private information such as their religious affiliation. A new bill S1759, sponsored by Senators Loretta Weinberg and Joseph Vitale, is highly intrusive, expensive, and appears unconstitutional. If S1759 is signed into law, it will require parents seeking a religious exemption to: * specify their exact religious tenets in notarized, signed, and sworn format * include an explanation of the nature of the religious tenet or practice that is implicated by the "vaccination" * explain how administration of "the vaccine" would violate, contradict, or otherwise be inconsistent with that tenet or practice * affirm that the religious tenet is consistently held * obtain a signed statement from a physician or advanced practice nurse licensed in New Jersey proving that parents received vaccine counseling, thus requiring medical advice for a decision that should be made on religious grounds. This bill is redundant and wasteful. Doctors are already required to discuss the risks and benefits of vaccination with parents. The religious exemption to mandatory vaccination is a cherished religious and parental right. Please oppose S1759 by signing this petition.
