Presidant Obama was asked on ABC if he would also use the health care program for him and his family and he totally ignored the question and never answered . Then the same question was asked to the Congress and the Repreasentatives and they said they would think about it . This happened the other day and today the Congress voted that they be exempt from the health care program . NOW TELL ME WHAT DOES THAT TELL YOU ABOUT OUR GOVERNMENT other then it is all about what they can get for themselves at the expense of the people . IT'S TIME TO STAND UP AND MAKE THESE GREEDY BASTARDS do their job which is to help America and not just them selves . We need to get huge numbers of Americans to sign this petition and send it to the White House demanding that all politicians have the same health care program as us . NO ONE SHOULD BE EXEMPT

I am tired of folks telling me that smoke is harming them outdoors. This is just an excuse to put more hurdles in place for those of us who smoke. The smoking laws border on harrasment. I am for comfortable outdoor smoking areas and for ventilated indoor spaces for smokers.

Democratic officials and candidates routinely refer to Republican tax plans as "reverse-Robin Hood" plans. Intellectually I understand what that means, but what is the imagery? Robin Hood walking backwards? Robin Hood on standing on his head? I've really no idea. Shouldn't the words they use evoke a visceral response in their audience?

Currently the Do Not Call list allows robo calls and in person calls for political activities. This has become a major problem by taking up personnel time and use of equipment paid for by a citizen.

On July 28, 2012 The New York Times published an investigative article on noise, revealing that high decibel levels in restaurants and clothing stores, to name a few, make patrons consume more and consume faster. Noise has been linked to increased hypertension and heart disease. As a teacher of voice and ear training, I am seeing the day to day damage inflicted by corporate greed on youg eardrums and vocal folds. We are calling on corporate America to stop putting employees and patrons at risk in the name of greed. We are calling on them to reduce the decibel level intheir establishments.But repeated exposure to loud noise often damages hearing and has been linked to higher levels of stress, hypertension and heart disease.

It is an embarrassment that the United States is the only First World nation without universal health care. Reactionaries put pressure on Americans to believe that illusory "choices" are more important than having access to health care in the first place. Sign now to show that the most important choice you can make is for each American to have access to the health care s/he needs - and thereby the ability to do meaningful work without the pressure to provide health care benefits.

After reporting the largest quarterly earnings in its history , the head of the Walt Disney Co. showed his appreciation to President Obama by stating that he thinks the United States should cut its corporate income tax rate. “We pay a very high corporate tax rate as a company,” Disney President and Chief Executive Officer Bob Iger said. “We know that America is very high, among the highest in the world, if not the highest in terms of corporate tax rates.

It's all about testing

My son returned from Iraq in 2009 with 80 weeks of medical training that included Combat Medic School and Nursing School at Walter Reed for one year. He applied to Cal State Sacramento for admission to their school of nursing and was told that they do not give any credit for his military training an experiences. I followed the money to find out why. The money trail goes to the 90-10 loophole in the student loan law that gives for profit schools $145,000 in Federal student loans for non veterans. The loophole and the lack of transfer ability of military training keeps veterans in school longer and out of the employment market. HR 4055 will close the loophole but it has little chance of debate on the House floor since the Republican Leadership is blocking it using money that they received from veterans enrollment in their fro profit schools!!
