My husband worked and paid taxes for more than 20 yrs. He was let go about a year ago and still trying to find a job right now. His unemployment benefit was cut from 64 weeks to 32 weeks. He paid unemployment benefit for more than 20 yrs but they only give back 32 weeks back to him.

Religious organizations are now big business and are attempting to force their views upon the nation with political pressure. These organizations, along with other non-profits like the chamber of commerce, would have the right to freedom of speech just like I do if they are a citizen. Take away their tax exempt status and make citizens out of them.

Stop our Representatives from getting their hands on money that is originally for the people from cashing in on what is meant for the people. When a Representative find monies that is meant for all the people, they need to plan a budget around who are to receive the monies and give people a chance to apply for it before they tell people who are their friends and family. We have so many people stealing from the top that we don't have anything trickling down to the people that really need it.

If a consumer comes to court without an attorney, he or she is directed to the public defenders' office by the courts as an option to be represented. However, what is not explain to the consumer by staff of the Public defenders' office that, If the consumer changes options to seeing a public defender than obtain an attorney. But has already singed in at the window, the consumer must pay a fifty dollar fee, for "only"signing the sheet to see a public defender. The Public Defenders' fee at the window is an unfair charge imposed on the consumer. I ask that fees are suspended, if the consumer's decision changes with regards to seeing a public defender.

My petiton is about making a law to beable to sue those persons who tell a hurtful lie about a politcian.Edit tapes to make a person seem to say something other than what the person really meant and said.

Thursday, the city council is considering an ordinance that we find to be detrimental to the interests of the residents of St. Petersburg. While it is supposedly aimed at securing the safety of partygoers and city residents during an August 26th RNC party at Tropicana Field, we believe that many of its features have absolutely no value in protecting residents, protesters or RNC attendees. The ordinance does make many aspects of ordinary living for residents impossible, the ordinance massively infringes on our civil liberties, and essentially shuts down some of our local businesses. Such a law serves no clear purpose in keeping anyone safe, but it does make almost everyone who happens to live or shop in the zone “arrestable.”

Due to the fact that President Obama is in effect reapplying for the job of President, and that he declared that his administration would be the most transparent in history. I believe that as his employer, the people of The United States have the right to examine his college performance.

Our taxpayer dollars bailed out the banks. The interest our money we save in these banks is earning less than 1% interest. I petition that students Stafford Loans that are being paid should have the interest eliminated, or at least lowered to the same low rates we are receiving from the banks we bailed out. If you want to get more money back into the economy, eliminate or lower the rates as I've stated, Help bail out these students, many who can't even find jobs. Congress was considering raising rates back up to at least 6% and we are supposed to be thankful that they are trying to keep them at 3%. Well congress 3% is not low enough. Eliminate, or lower them to the same rates the banks that taxpayers bailed out are giving us on our savings accounts. If you're even lucky enough to still have a savings account.

When Tom Corbett was the Attorney General of Pennsylvania, he "investigated" Jerry Sandusky for serial child molestation. The investigation went nowhere, as Corbett did not devote sufficient resources. Corbett has a history of prosecuting his political enemies as he gave his friends a pass.

We have a paralyzed government full of career politicians more interested in fund raisers from lobbyists and rich friends than in their constituents. Their bickering has given Congress the lowest approval rating in history. I'm calling for a Constitutional Amendment for an absolute term limit for all federal offices. There will be no reelection "war chests" nor seniority over competency in committee position appointments. They'll all have exactly ONE chance to make a real difference.

Government keeps wanting to regulate, administer and tax the internet. Access and use of the internet should remain free to the people.
