Public education policy in the United States is under attack from a variety of directions. Corporate influences want to push for a for-profit model to tap into what they see as an untapped source of income. Misguided "reformers" want to push to end basic due-process protections for teachers in a quest to root out the insignificant numbers of "bad teachers." Politicians continue to push for "teacher accountability" while ignoring the accountability of the parties that control student achievement the most; parents and students. Meanwhile, our education system, our dedicated teachers, and our students all suffer further degradation of their morale.

Breaker Stadium was rebuilt with local taxpayer monies (Measure D) with the promise of accessibility for the local residents. Current usage by non-local groups has effectively destroyed this promise. We are asking the P.G.U.S.D. to limit outside use to a maximum of 4 hours on Sat./Sun and Holidays and at no time will the lights be turned on for said outside use.

The President has called upon Congress many times to pass the Jobs Bill. They won't. Instead they make over 30 attempts to repeal Health Care Reform, and Romney blames the president for not creating jobs. Democrats should agitate in the same way with The Jobs Bill. We call upon Democrats in Congress to PUSH President Obama's job bill and get it passed.
