School is supposed to be a safe place for children of all ages to learn. If we allow just any random person with possibly a mental illness walk into a gun and ammo store one day and decide to buy a gun to shoot up a school, how exactly is that a safe place for children to learn? Exactly. It’s not. With more and more news of school shootings that come out each year, children become more and more terrified of going to school. School for them is no longer a place of fun and learning, but rather a place of the terrifying possibility of someone breaking in and going on a rampage.

Here are some reasons why you should sign my petition: 1. Safety first: Distracted driving is a major cause of accidents. An app that tracks phone usage can help reduce distractions and make roads safer for everyone.  2. Lower Insurence rates: If Insurence companies can monitor and verify safe driving behaviors, they might offer lower premiums to drivers who avoid using their phones while driving.  3. Accountability: Such an app can encourage drivers to be more responsible and accountable for their actions behind the wheel, leading to safer driving habits.  4. Community Impact: By reducing the number of accidents caused by distracted driving, the entire community benefits. Fewer accidents mean fewer injuries and fatalities. 

Iowa recently passed legislation to undo protections for trans people by removing gender identity from the state civil rights code—making it the first time a state has removed a protected class from a state law prohibiting discrimination. These changes will weaken legal safeguards against discrimination and affect the rights of transgender people at every turn—from hiring practices to health care access. Meanwhile, congressional Republicans are targeting sanctuary cities like Boston and Chicago for the civil rights protections they guarantee to immigrants, attempting to force city governments to comply with Trump's mass deportation agenda, including ICE raids in workplaces, schools, and hospitals. Make no mistake, these attacks don’t just affect targeted communities—they represent a dangerous erosion of our civil liberties and undermine the rights of ALL Americans. Sign the petition to tell elected officials that they must safeguard our civil rights from Trump’s attacks.

We have a responsibility as flight crew to foster a safe and comfortable environment for all; this includes passengers and our fellow crew members. We do not feel some of our coworkers understand this responsibility. 

I, along with many others in Wisconsin, are deeply affected by Senator Ron Johnson's neglect of our needs and rights. We have made countless efforts to express our concerns, but our voices seem to fall on deaf ears. Senator Johnson repeatedly demonstrates an overwhelming concern for his donors and a loyalty to Trump, rather than considering the wellbeing of his constituents.  According to polls by Marquette Law School; 48% of Wisconsin voters disapproved of Senator Johnson's job performance in March of 2021 and 49% in August 2024. In addition 10-17% of participates stated they were not informed enough on the issues to give a response. Thereby; leaving only 36 - 39% supporting Johnson. This evidences a growing discontent with his representation. We must stand strong and take decisive action if we are to protect marginalized communities and defend the rights of Wisconsinites.

This petition is critical because Representative Huizenga has shown a lack of accountability and disregard for the needs and concerns of his constituents. Rather than representing the people of Michigan's Fourth District, he continues to align himself with an authoritarian president, without considering how this loyalty harms our communities and the nation at large. For nearly eight years, Representative Huizenga has avoided in-person communication with his district, leaving us in the dark about his positions and decisions. He is hiding from his constituents because he is afraid to face the consequences of his actions — and the result is a failure to meet his basic responsibility as our elected representative. Congressional recesses are meant to be an opportunity for representatives to engage with their communities. It is a time for them to listen to the concerns of the people they serve, yet Representative Huizenga continues to avoid these vital conversations, choosing instead to remain loyal to a dangerous political agenda rather than engaging with the people who put him in office. We, the people of Michigan's Fourth District, demand to be heard. We deserve transparency, accountability, and a representative who listens to us — not someone who hides behind closed doors or puts his party loyalty above the needs of his community. This petition is not just about the refusal of a town hall; it's about the responsibility of an elected official to be transparent, accessible, and accountable. We will no longer allow our concerns to be ignored, and we will not allow our representative to turn a blind eye to the harm caused by his actions.

While republicans may be receiving "marching orders" to avoid town halls, it is up to us, the people, to demand them and to ensure members of congress who support the current administration answer to their actions and the impact it will have on individuals and community alike.

Town halls are ways for constituents to provide feedback directly to their elected officials to make sure that their concerns and expectations are heard.  When Republicans returned to their districts in February, they were met with the full force of their constituents’ frustrations. They should be taking in that feedback and returning to D.C. to do their job addressing the needs, concerns, and demands of the people they were elected to represent. But instead, they're planning on hiding from their constituents in the upcoming recess, while they continue to ram through Trump and Musk’s wildly unpopular and disastrous plans, slashing services and funding that everyday people need, and giving tax breaks to their billionaire friends. Not on our watch.  We need to remind members of Congress who they answer to.  Not Trump.  Not Musk.  Not just a few billionaires.  Sign the petition to make it clear to Congress that come recess, we expect them to host town halls and office hours, because they answer to the people.

Ticketmaster and Live Nation have made attending concerts almost unaffordable for the average consumer. We believe this needs to change. Concerts should not cost so much that people have to go into debt to afford them. For example, concert tickets costing $500 for NOSEBLEED seats are unacceptable. Something needs to change.

Privatizing Social Security will kill the guaranteed returns and only benefits corporations. Slashing staffing without planning ensures a debacle of epic proportions, risking the reliability of monthly checks most recipients rely upon. If you touch SS, you will literally kill some Americans and throw undue hardship on others.  You also will owe each of us what we have paid in for the program, plus accrued interest—large sums of money that you would have to pay out. Or you will have a class action suit with tens of millions of people on our side.

The current situation in Gaza and the West Bank calls for immediate and decisive international action to stop the ethnic cleansing and the genocide of millions of Palestinian civilians.
