State Farm has stolen more than $1.225 billion from bank accounts of its former policyholders—after they had cancelled policies and State Farm (confirmed by the company’s actions)—had no intention of reciprocally providing services. It also explains how State Farm has cut expenditures by billions of dollars (including $4.841 billion during 2017, compared to 2016)—through breaching of contracts (not honoring policies) on a massive scale.

  • Protection for Furloughed Workers
I am not a government worker, nor am I related to or personally know any. I’m starting this petition because I lived paycheck to paycheck for many years, as many of these effected workers do. None of them should have to fear losing their home, car or even good credit due to this or any future shutdown.

  • Eliminate Electoral College
Current and past presidents have been elected by a minority. This is not the democratic way. We've seen the results of gerrymandering and it breeds divisiveness in our populace. Let's at least have a President that we can all agree has been elected by the people, not by the electoral college.

  • Bring Term Limits to the Chicago City Council!
Alderman in Chicago shouldn't have lifetime appointment, but far too many of them behave like they aren't accountable to their voters. We have real problems in our city, and we need new leaders who will take them on.

  • Federal subsidies for teachers to compensate for cost of living
My sister has worked in 3 separate states as a teacher, two of them paid her fast food employee wages. During these two years she fought hard to find a job in a state that would pay her fairly for the job she was doing. Teachers play a significant role in laying a strong foundation for our children. We cannot say honestly, the future will be bright in America, if we shortchange future generations by not supporting their grade school teachers. Our teachers deserve better.

  • Green Burial
Most funeral homes in this country are owned by three major corporations, which have created a monopoly to prey on the grief of families. In Michigan, a funeral director can charge any amount for “services,” so that in a green burial where nothing is required but the signature, those services cost anywhere upwards of $5,000. I have been deeply affected by the process of burying my mother, who wanted a simple, organic, and inexpensive end of life, which she was denied by this industry.

  • Pets are NOT Property in Indiana
In May of 2018, my little rescue dog, Trouble, was blinded in one eye, during a routine dental procedure by a local veterinarian in Valparaiso, IN. I was not informed of his injury by the Valpo Veterinarian. Three days later, an ophthalmologist in West Lafayette diagnosed his eye as being traumatically ruptured. With infection building in both eyes now, Trouble's ruptured eye was immediately removed. For three months, Trouble had to be forced fed while he fought off multiple secondary infections and dehydration. While Trouble nearly died, the Valpo veterinarian is not legally accountable for his negligence in the State of Indiana. Why? Because Trouble is considered property! - Like your couch or chair!! Well, our Pets are NOT Property. They are cherished family members and should have rights and there should be accountability for injury or death at the hands of Indiana licensed Professional animal service providers! Let's Change this outdated Law Together! PETS ARE NOT PROPERTY IN INDIANA!

  • Justice for Eli Jacob Gutierrez
Our loved one who has no criminal record other than a few traffic tickets was the victim of an armed robbery. He is a licensed gun holder who utilized his second amendment rights to defend his family and home. He is not a murderer and should not be charged as one.

  • Support Texas House Bill 595 "911 Bill"
I am starting this petition because I feel this bill is needed and could possibly save lives. The types of calls made to 911 should be for emergencies and where there are life and death scenarios. We are witnessing our tax dollars going to waste by individuals calling 911 on people who are not committing any crimes but are only participating in daily activities such as walking, gardening, studying, and talking to their friends. Making frivolous calls to 911 ends up taking time and resources from callers that actually need help.

  • Urge Congress to Pass our Military Sexual Trauma Victim's Bill of Rights
I am an MST veteran who experienced retaliation, homelessness, and PTSD due to MST. The MST community is the most underserved and vulnerable class of veterans. Leading most of us to commit suicide. The most PTSD claims come from MST. The most suicides do to PTSD are MST. Homelessness affects MST veterans at 2x the rate. In every category, MST veterans are at the highest risk, yet no one is changing the laws. Our Bill of Rights provide protections for MST Veterans around the Nation!

  • Stop the YMCA in New Market Township
We are concerned with the amount of additional traffic on both 230th and 240th street. The plans seem to be unclear and change based on questions the people of the township have had: to name a few, Hours of operations, amount of traffic, facility offering. We feel the addition of the YMCA is not offering the township anything. This has been asked at evey meeting and the YMCA has not been able to answer the question. The YMCA will offer nothing to the township from a tax benefit, it will cost the township money in years to come , examples include, but not limited to, Road repair, additional police and fire, and we will lose the rural setting we reside in . We feel this is against our township Mission; "working together to promote fiscally responsible growth, improve the level of service, and preserve the unique heritage of the town we call home." This will be much more than a Day camp. It was explained that the camp would have 500 kids, its clear long term that is not the plan, the proposal has growth written several times. The 10 Fulltime horses and 90 rental horses. This suggests that this is more than a day camp for kids. This is building a business. For residents that is additional traffic, trucks, trailers, and cars for the horse owners. They will want to ride, feed and take care of their animals, all week long and all year long. Again the residents were told this is a summer camp that is Monday - Friday 7:30am - 5:30pm. The parking lot will hold 150-200 cars, this is in addition to the busses that has been suggested. This also suggests more than a day camp for kids. Winter Buildings for Farm to table events. More business opportunities and does this mean companies, families can rent this space to host events? Yes it does, Additional traffic outside the Summer Camp hours. Facilities for camping, this is not for kids that attend a day camp. This is to offer business opportunities, this includes not just tents, but structures that will be year round and include night and day traffic and a 24 hour operation. In addition more traffic these points alone states that this is more of a commercial operation than a day camp for kids. This plan has considerable growth that does not fit or belong in a residential zones area. We the residents please ask that this not move forward and take away a residential rural peaceful homestead. Our township structure does not support this type of proposal today and years to come. Specific Address: 8535 230th St New Market Township, MN
