• Cheaper Parking for Students at The University of Akron
It is important to sign this petition to defend your rights as a student. The amount we are paying for parking is not financially logical. We are being robbed of our money. Kent State only needs to pay $116 per semester. We pay TWICE the amount for parking at the University we attend. If the authorities aren’t going to help us, then we need to do it ourselves. Please sign this petition and it will be given to the president of The University of Akron and parking services.

  • North Bridgeland Parkway Safety
The safety concerns have been demonstrated on Bridgeland Creek Parkway with the numerous accidents with increased traffic flow. We have been reactive in the installation of traffic signals . With the proximity of the issues to a school and the potential impact it is important to be proactive.

  • Connetquot School District: Reverse The Pride Flag Ban
LGBTQIA+ students face elevated risks of suicide, depression, and more. Connetquot Schools has had repeated issues with racism and homophobia, and LGBTQIA+ students report discrimination and hostile environements. When a teacher tries to rectify this, they should be comended. Instead, a teacher hanging a Progress Pride flag was met by rage from Board of Education President Jacky Napolitano-Furno, and a demand to take the flag down. Unfortunately, the school district gave in to her demands, not only forcing the teacher to take her flag down, but banning all Pride flags district-wide in classrooms. Connetquot needs to lift the ban on Pride flags, and allow the Progress Pride flag to hang once again. Please also email: Board of Education: [email protected] Superintendent: [email protected]

  • No Child Should Go Hungry At School
In middle school I washed dishes to pay for my lunch. My parent made too much money to qualify for the free lunch program, and worked so hard that she fell asleep on the couch before being able to spend quality time with me. I looked for other ways to bring in income to cover any extras such as babysitting and lawn mowing. Today’s inner city kids are pushed toward drug selling, prostitution, and theft. I have seen it and stopped them. It’s now illegal for schools to allow children to do the lunchroom work I did as a kid. I have taken initiative when I lived in the inner city of Columbus to help these kids find legal ways to earn the money for what they wanted to buy. The one kid that stuck out in my mind the most was doing those things to get diapers and wipes for his baby sisters. A 1 to 2 cent tax on the dollar for almost any necessary disposable item would cover the cost for lunch for every child in the state. I think that’s a minor inconvenience to solve a major problem.

  • NO Pardon For Trump
As a result of the Trump administration, our country has become more divided and divisive; we have lost integrity around the world; the right to vote has been restricted; free and fair elections are being challenged without evidence and our institutions are being infiltrated by those who fabricate conspiracy theories. These are only a few risks before us and they cannot be condoned if we want to save our Democracy. Failure to prosecute, convict and impose the strictest sentence under the law will compromise our democracy, promote increased corruption in our politics and send a clear message that we no longer have separate branches of government. As recently stated by Senator Cheney, "We cannot abandon the truth and remain a free nation."

  • Against AZ Senate Bills 1269, 1412, and 1211
Currently AZ is trying to push legislation that limits discussion about discrimination and inequality (SB1412) as well as cutting school funding (SB1269) The bills seem divisive but last week, AZ signed into law a bill banning trans athletes from competing in their identified category (SB1165). **Its important that we as students, educators and parents DO NOT LET THESE BILLS PASS** We need to show legislators that we are aware of what is happening and that we are firmly against it. I am trying to organize school-based direct action because we need to demand change. • Dining Dollar Access for All
Throughout this institution’s history, we as students have been left to fend for ourselves as our concerns and demands fall on dismissive ears. We look forward to continuing to collaborate with any and all offices that we must in order to accomplish our mission of making all essential health products equally accessible to all students on Davidson’s campus. Sign this petition to show Davidson that its students want dining dollars to be used to improve accessibility, whether it be at Commons Market or Wellness Wendy
