• True opt-out option for smart meters in Illinois
All wireless devices, including cell phones, are voluntary and can be turned off when not in use. Smart meters are mandatory and are on 24/7 all the time. When it comes to health-related risks we should have options. Also, Smart Meters measure electricity usage in your home using a transmitting, wireless computer. Posing as a 'smart' and helpful device, it collects data of your family's daily habits and activities. This information is permanently stored as Big Data. By definition a surveillance device, the Smart Meter violates Federal and State wiretapping laws by recording and storing Big Data of private personal activities and behaviors without direct consent or knowledge. Big Utilities promise to keep this data safe and secure. The only secure data is data never collected. We the people of Illinois ( the people who voted you into office) ask that you please address the issue and resolve it in our favor!

  • Prosecute those that willfully left animals to die during Hurricane Florence
There is no place in a civilized country where this should be acceptable, condoned or even accepted. Laws need to be introduced to protect those that need it most. Ghandi said and I quote; " The greatness of a nation and its moral progress, can be judged by the way its animals are treated". We have failed as humans, failed as a nation and failed to protect our animals. The time for change is now

  • Ban gas powered leaf blowers in Santa Barbara County
Many people in Santa Barbara County are still experiencing respiratory, skin, and other symptoms related to the recent fires and mudslides. Clouds of dirt and dust that contain dangerous chemicals and contaminants including, mold, fungus, pollen, herbicides, pesticides, fertilizers, volatile compounds, toxic metals, insect eggs, and animal feces are propelled into the air by leaf blowers. These tiny toxic particles get into our lungs and have no way of getting out and can cause health problems such as lung cancer, heart disease, strokes, asthma, and other respiratory illnesses.

  • Tell Standard Chartered to stop funding the polluting coal industry!

  • Tell your Senators: Defend protections for bees and other wildlife from toxic pesticides!
The Fish and Wildlife Service's 2014 decision to phase out the use of bee-killing neonic pesticides was a critical step in helping protect bees and other pollinators that are essential to our food system. Now, it is trying to undo that phase-out. The Fish and Wildlife Service should be strengthening our regulations, not weakening them to make it easier for wildlife to be exposed to toxic pesticides. We need your help to push Congress to hold the Fish and Wildlife Service accountable!

  • Help send 30,000 messages to Congress to protect the Clean Water Act!
Section 401 of the Clean Water Act allows individual states to set their own water quality standards. It also lets states withhold permitting from federally approved infrastructure projects if they fail to meet the state’s standards. This provision is an important tool to stop polluting projects like hydroelectric dams, export terminals, and natural gas pipelines. The Clean Water Act is one of our most important -- and popular -- environmental protections. Together, we can stop the House from gutting it. But we need you to speak up now.

  • Help send 30,000 comments to the EPA: Don’t slash protections from methane pollution!
The EPA’s restrictions on methane pollution are a common-sense effort to protect our environment and our communities. The only reason the Trump administration wants to roll them back is to help their friends in the fossil fuel industry make more profits. The EPA could halt Trump’s disastrous plan in its tracks – but it will only act if people like you speak up.

  • Rescue the Pigs Trapped During Hurricane Florence
Hurricane Florence is about to hit North Carolina and in its path are several farms full of pigs who will be left to the hurricane if the state's emergency management team does not take action now. While the human population prepares for this impending emergency, the pigs are confined in crates, trapped on a farm where they will be stuck during the worst of the hurricane. Action is needed now to evacuate the pigs the same way we should save any animal from a deadly natural disaster.

  • Pledge to boycott Bayer Products
Numerous studies have found that Bayer's neonicotinoid pesticides are decimating bee populations, yet Bayer continues to ignore these findings in the interest of its profits. We need to make them feel the impact of this position where it hurts them most - on the bottom line.

  • BRING BACK OUR PINELLAS COUNTY, FLORIDA LAKES
Pinellas County small lakes are disappearing as muck collects on the bottom. One lake depth has decreased from 6 1/2 feet to 24 inches. The muck is caused by algae and weeds which can be removed by the ECO HARVESTER. What happens to our small lakes will be decided by current County Commissioners, so maintain vigilance in this matter.

  • A change is needed in leadership at Spartanburg Water
Spartanburg Water (SWS) recently killed over 200,000 fish by spraying a known fish killing algaecide into our drinking water and then tried to cover it up before being exposed by South Carolina's Department of Natural Resources. SWS has deflected responsibility for their mismanagement of our drinking water and has publicly blamed lake residents for contaminating our water. A change in leadership is needed to ensure our drinking water is properly managed.

  • END FOX AND COYOTE PENNING NATIONWIDE
Fox and coyote penning is animal abuse and cruelty and should not be legal in any state. It is inhumane and immoral. It's a blood sport for sick and twisted people that should not continue. People who are okay with this sport support animal cruelty even if it's not their pet being tortured.
