  • Rep Frank LoBiondo should host a Town Hall meeting
Constituents have not had an opportunity to air their concerns to the Rep. in a large setting, and therefore are extremely frustrated. Rep. LoBiondo serves on the Congressional Intelligence Committee and constituents want answers about Donald Trump's connections to the Russian government, full disclosure of Trump's financials and full transparency. Constituents also need to discuss Trump Administration's reckless approach to many issues such as: ACA, Entitlements, the EPA/environment, out of control spending (ICE agents, "the wall", etc.), Immigration ban & deportation force & Trumps exorbitant travel expenses for first month. Constituents also need the ability to challenge irresponsible budget cuts proposing to eliminate Public Broadcasting & National Public Radio, by killing the CPB (Corporation for Public Broadcasting) & arts programs funded by the NEA (National Endowment for the Arts), CPB & NEA make up less than .02% of Federal Budget. https://www.washingtonpost.com/news/the-fix/wp/2017/01/19/trump-reportedly-wants-to-cut-cultural-programs-that-make-up-0-02-percent-of-federal-spending/?utm_term=.7e1e00281ce9

  • Congressman Paul Mitchell Townhall
Paul Mitchell is a new Congressman who had to bounce district to district before finding one that he could win in. I along with my retired parents asked Paul Mitchell multiple times if he would cut Social Security and Medicare, only to have him block us on Facebook. Rep. Mitchell needs to be reminded that he works for the people of Michigan's 10th District and that it is his job to answer tough questions not to hide in his new D.C. office.

  • #WheresDesJarlais? We Want a Townhall
TN Cong District 4's Rep Scott DesJarlais has not met face 2 face with us in years! With all the turmoil coming out of DC, such as Russian interference, pending repeal of the Affordable Care Act, accusations of "fake news" and many more issues, we want to be heard! We have made 100s of call's, been to his offices and sent many emails asking for an in person Townhall! The answers have ranged from "you're paid protestors" to "Trump and Scott won that district by so much, there's no need for one.", To 'No', and "have you seen the Congressional calendar!!" Scott did make time this week for friendly press in Cleveland and has plans on Thursday for a banquet with Republican Party volunteers. Make time for us, Scott!!

  • Oppose Virginia SB 1262 - Virginia Towns Should Not Be Jointly & Severally Liable For Damages Cau...
It may be that SB 1262 will not withstand judicial scrutiny. If it is valid law, it is objectionable on so many levels. Xenophobia aside, it interferes with a town's/city's ability to act in the best interests of its citizens. It burdens state/local police and officials with additional duties and responsibilities that distract from the purpose for which they were hired or elected - local government and safety. It is so broad and poorly crafted that it doesn't even seem to require a link between the offending ordinance/policy and the actions of the wrongdoer for a town/city to be held jointly and severally liable for damages. Some may argue that the qualifying words "intentionally" and with "intent to thwart" protect local cities and towns from most lawsuits; in reality, they just create additional issues that will need to be decided in court -- again at a price to be paid by local citizens. In any case, how can our State Senators and Delegates truly believe that making our local communities (and ultimately us -- the taxpayers) subject to litigation and the associated judgments and defense costs is in our best interest? If they do believe this, they are wrong!! Where will the overreach of the federal government end (see Section 8 of President Trump's January 25, 2017 Executive Order)? Why are our legislators helping with this effort? At some point, will our state and local police become an arm of federal law enforcement? Do we want this? Will we stand for this? NO!! SB 1262 passed the Senate in early February and has been sitting in the House Committee for Courts of Justice since February 8. As the legislative session is scheduled to end this week, it could be that it will remain there and die. However, given some surprising things that have happened during this session, we need to be prepared to let the Legislature know that we oppose it, should it be revived. Moreover, we should all know that this horrendous type of legislation is being proposed and supported by our representatives, who are supposed to be looking out for us. We need them to know that SB 1262 has been noticed and it will not be tolerated! If the Legislature is going to take any action on SB 1262, it will happen this week. If you oppose this bill, please sign and ask your friends and associates to sign today!! Thanks!

  • NC Senator Thom Tillis: Hold a Town Hall with Your Constituents!
He refuses to hold a town hall meeting in person with his constituents. We demand he meet with us in person to answer questions we have on his support of this administration's policies and coverup of Russian ties. He has suggested we meet online, but only when we have a list of attendees and a list of questions he will preapprove. We want him to do his job and meet with us face to face and uncensored. As an employee of the state and it's citizens, he is obligated to meet with us. The Trump made this comment in a press conference: “We’ve begun preparing to repeal and replace Obamacare,” he said. “Obamacare is a disaster, folks. It’s a disaster. You can say, ‘Oh, Obamacare.’ I mean, they fill up our rallies with people that you wonder how they get there, But They’re Not The Republican People That Our Representatives Are Representing.” The problem is Republicans represent all of the people, not just the ones who vote and support you. Our concerns regarding his support of this administration need to be heard. We stand with Democrats, Republicans, and Independents that have these concerns and deserve to be addressed.

  • Force Ways and Means to review Trump's taxes.
With growing evidence that Trump's campaign was in contact with Russian intelligence officers, it has become critical to see what may be hidden in his tax records. This is a matter of national security for all American citizens.

  • Let Veterans Keep their Money! Stop Recoupment of Military Bonuses
http://www.cbs5az.com/story/34550515/government-bills-arizona-veteran-for-14000 Ashley Christopher served our nation faithfully for a total of 10 years, including two twelve month deployments in the middle east. After fulfilling her enlistment term, Ashley was honorably discharged in early 2015. She recently received a letter from the Department of the Treasury demanding repayment of her $15,000 reenlistment bonus because, apparently changing jobs (involuntarily — from military police to systems operator), meant she did not fulfill the terms of her contract. Ashley is currently pursuing a Masters Degree in Social Work. She works full-time at a local homeless shelter rehousing homeless veterans. She will have to sell her home to repay her debt since she cannot afford to pay her mortgage while the Treasury garnishes 1/3 of her already low income. In a cruel twist of irony, Ashley is now faced with the prospect of becoming a homeless veteran herself. Due to the significant decrease in her credit score (the Treasury immediately reported collection), she will not qualify for a new mortgage or a decent apartment. Former members of the California National Guard were faced with this same issue. Due to significant media coverage, their plight was brought to the attention of Congress. Multiple bills were introduced which would have provided relief from this type of aggressive debt collection to all veterans. However, the issue was ultimately remedied through an NDAA provision (Subtitle F Section 671) which exclusively addressed the California National Guard, thus allowing the Pentagon to continue their aggressive debt collection tactics.
