America's rootsBeing born on the first president's birthday, the man that started it all, I knew from the beginning I was the one to do something. Being raised on Pennsylvania's own governor leaders farm, going to the very college he funded, having a great grandmother living in the retirement home he established, I am deeply rooted in this country's heart. Coming so close to death when I was 13, I should've been dead, God spoke to me. He said that I know how to change this country, that he kept me alive to do something, to disregard his intentions is ensuring all hell to break loose. Already at church, a pastor came upon me for my actions, telling me to come back so he can give me the rest of my lesson. I prayed to God so hard, a storm rolled in, the only business in the county that electric was knocked out was the one the pastor blasphemed against me in. I would deeply listen to what I have to say, for words on paper do not give credit due. There's a beckoning calling, get back to me for any hope..1 of 100 SignaturesCreated by steffen reeser

Bernie: Talk About Cutting the Bloated Pentagon BudgetOn May 26, Vermont Senator Bernie Sanders formally announced his candidacy for the Democratic nomination for President of the United States. [1] Bernie presented a strong progressive agenda, including creating jobs by rebuilding our infrastructure, confronting the threat of climate change, and breaking the stranglehold of big money on our elections. But a key element of our progressive agenda was missing from Bernie’s announcement speech: cutting the bloated Pentagon budget. Bernie is right to say that when the super-rich don’t pay their fair share of taxes, it contributes to our obscene rate of child poverty. But it’s just as important to say that when our federal income tax dollars are diverted to wars, foreign military bases, and weapon systems that we don’t need, that contributes to our obscene rate of child poverty as well. We have a problem with the 1% on the revenue side, but we also have a problem with the 1% on the expenditure side. Raising taxes on the super-rich won’t reduce child poverty if we let the Pentagon gobble all the money. Urge Bernie to talk about cutting the bloated Pentagon budget in his stump speech by signing our petition. Tell the U.S. House: Drop Benghazi and get back to work! The attack on America’s diplomats in Benghazi, Libya in 2012 was a tragedy. We lost four of our finest public servants, and there are lessons to be learned from the incident. Instead of focusing on improving our diplomatic security, Republicans in Congress have turned the Benghazi investigation into a yearlong, $3 million taxpayer-funded political witch-hunt directed at Hillary Clinton. The U.S. House’s “Select Committee on Benghazi” has failed to produce a single actionable finding after wasting millions of taxpayer dollars. And yet, its chairman, Rep. Trey Gowdy (R-SC) has already hinted that his “investigation” might not be done until right before the 2016 election! Our country faces enormous challenges, here at home and abroad. We have our work cut out for us. We should be focused on improving security for our diplomats abroad, and we can’t afford to keep wasting time and money on this political sideshow. Sign the Petition: tell Congress it’s time to end the Benghazi madness and get back to work!40 of 100 SignaturesCreated by Xavier Becerra

Free Douglas Hughes, D.C. Gyrocopter PilotDouglas Hughes represents us-99-percent. We detest money in politics. We detest government serving the corporate interests. We-99-percent also thank Mr. Hughes for bringing the issue of air space security to light. Lax federal oversight is the problem, not Mr. Hughes. Government works for us. We shall not be enslaved to our government. GET MONEY OUT OF POLITICS. Years of imprisonment for Mr. Hughes for simply exercising our First Amendment Right, The Right to Free Speech, is WRONG. We respectfully ask that you will free DOUGLAS HUGHES -- the people's hero -- now. Thank you.102 of 200 SignaturesCreated by Yumi Wong

Implement online voter registration in MichiganI want to see online voter registration passed so that we can have a better turnout of voters. Why not make it as easy as we can for people to vote? The first step is to get them registered. We all work many different hours and can't all get to the registration polls at the few times they are open.32 of 100 SignaturesCreated by Evelyn D. Woodward

Allow online voting in state and federal electionsI believe that providing for voting online would increase access to the polls, increase participation by the electorate, and make voting and counting of votes more convenient and organized with little or no risk of fraud because of encryption requirements.15 of 100 SignaturesCreated by Christopher Knight

Enact a Law in Michigan to Allow Online Voter RegistrationI'm starting this petition because men and women have fought and died for our right vote. That right is sacrosanct and cannot be used as a political football to give one political party an advantage over an other by suppressing the right to vote.1 of 100 SignaturesCreated by Michael McCarthy

Elected officials should make the median wage of the districts they represent. It has come to my attention and the attention of the people of the United States that our elected officials are out of touch with what their constituents need and want. If a person running for office wants to truly better his or her community, they have to somewhat feel the struggle of what their community is going through. Too often, money in politics changes a once-good candidate into someone peddling issues that no longer affect the people he or she will be representing. If an elected official wants his district or constituents to progress, they have to work hard for that to happen. The only way we can see fit that that works is if the elected officials are tied to their constituents. They choose to represent the people so let them make the median average wage of the people they represent. Maybe then we'll see some real change in America.40 of 100 SignaturesCreated by Tony Jefferson

Congressional Term LimitsI sincerely doubt our founding fathers intended to create a profession of politics. Politicians are meant to serve the public and not worry about reelection. It should be considered a civic duty, much the same as jury duty.14 of 100 SignaturesCreated by Raymond Norris
