John Boehner is soley responsibilty for the government shut down and choas in our country this week. He knows there are enough votes in the house to pass a clean CR, but refuses to put the billon the floor for a vote. This should not be allowed and "we the people" must force responsibile behavior from our elected officials, by insisting that they abandon the Hassert Rule and put the bill passed and sent over by the Senate to a full house vote today.

The TeaParty has become the most destructive force against our country, affecting so many people struggling in this economy while perpetuating their suffering. They have become the death panels they warned us about.

Hi, I'm trying to prevent a global financial catastrophe.

The people making the laws should have a direct interest in the results of their decision. How can people who place themselves above the people and the laws they were placed in office to represent and enforce truly have the best interest of their constituents in their heart when performing their duties. This hopefully awaken the social conscious of those serving in Washington and the Sates of each person who sighs this petition. The current economic crises we all seem to be revisiting on regular basis would likely quickly resolve themselves.

What the GOP lead House of Representatives is doing by failing to pass a budge for the government operations, and refusing to even allow the legislation to come to vote, despite the awareness that a majority of the Representatives are in agreement with passing the budget, is holding the government and it's operations hostage which could lead to extreme harm not only to the government but to a majority of the populace of the U.S. is illegal and treasonable, actions which can irreparably harm our country and its people, thereby giving aid and comfort to our enemies. This one action would defeat Citizen's United and all other anti- democratic forces. Too often good bills are neutered by lobbying which occurs in secret. We all have a stake in this; if our country's credit rating is downgraded yet again due to foolish tea party game playing, our entire economy could potentially crash again despite how far we've come since 2008. Speaker Boehner has the votes he needs to end the shutdown, but refuses to behave like a responsible adult and elected official. If his goal is obstruction to the point that government cannot function at all, we shouldn't be paying him for a job that he isn't doing.

It's about time that we move to term limits because our elected officials feel tenured and really don't care any more what the people who voted for them want. We don't want shutdowns; we want progress, no longer holding us hostage to their careers. The 2 year House term was originally designed to cause the administration to act and if they did not, to be replaced. Politicians currently remain in office too long. Since the year 2011, Gallop polls have reflected only a 10% approval rating for our Congress. That’s only 1 in 10 elected officials successfully doing what they were elected to do!
